  1. Nope...nothing so far. Still waiting.
  2. I got a update in that News thing that is on my phone saying that Sprint LTE was coming around this time (5-17 or so)... Are the sites directly around Montgomery...or do they stretch as far north as AL 21 near US 280 (Sylacauga, Alexander City, Rockford, Weogufka, etc)... I haven't been around these sites down that way and I'm not sure if these would be GMO sites or not either..but I'm sure we'll see some signal from them when we head to Dauphin Island, AL on the 13th of this month...even if they aren't lit with LTE yet. Would be nice to have it though along the way. I checked Dauphin Island coverage, and I'm unsure if I'm even going to have native 3G when we're there...looks like I may be roaming a lot of our trip down that way. There's a small patch of green on the map, but not sure how far out that tower can get, since our rental house is on the west side of the island.
  3. There is no signing up. They put out word a while back and took, I'm guessing around 50 people, then said that they received all they wanted to fill...so it's actually too late now to try and get into it. Took two surveys for them and apparently answered in a manner that they were looking for, but they only tried for about two days to find people. I just happened to see their request a couple minutes after they asked about it and I answered. They came back and said something about a lot of response but they had filled the quota, apparently this is a new program with Belkin because they called it a first-time thing, I do believe. 4. I use tinypic as well, many don't know that tinypic is part of photobucket. Also have a paid photobucket, used to on high traffic sites :-/ photobucket would freeze you if you went over a certain amount of bandwidth in a month (like having a signature hosted on photobucket)...if it was a very busy site, your signature could be disabled if you got over so much. I went paid because I ordered a photobucket book of pics when my daughter was born and sent it as gifts to my dad and family that lived too far to visit. They have an album that's $17 for 100 pics, with plastic cover and coated pages...around 4 pics per page. But tinypic has a desktop app as well as photobucket having a desktop app and mobile app. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  5. I wanted to ask if anyone else had tried to get into the Belkin insider program? It's a testing program for Belkin devices where they send you things to try...as payment for your time and trial, you get to keep the stuff they send. I got word I was accepted, but I can't say anything about what I receive unless it's on the market for sale already...which isn't likely to happen (why test already for sale items?) I had to sign a stipulated NDA that is pretty binding on me not saying much about items not yet public. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  6. By then also, my Upgrade Now fee should be down below $200 i would think. I paid to Upgrade now last year on a line, got the GS3. It cost me $50 fee, $299 a month after the release. Now, it's $275 fee, and whatever the promo price is on the SGS4.
  7. That's what I'm getting at...is there a time-frame on how long before new phones come out with new tech for LTE bands?
  8. So I'm eligible for upgrade now on two of my four lines...and I'd like suggestions on what I should do....do I trade my SGS3 and get the SGS4, or do I need to wait on something upcoming today may be better than what I can get right now? I hate to go pay the fees and then in two months have a brand new "oooh I want it" coming out. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  9. Truth be told, with Japanese culture in mind, I'd trust them before any other Euro-Asian foreign entity...The Japanese heritage and belief system are often more moral-based than even American belief systems...and considerably more-so comparing Japanese politics vs American politics...
  10. You could almost pick this apart with facts and hardware specifics that other companies use in their equipment: DISH Network Corporation DISH -0.61% , through its subsidiary DISH Network L.L.C., provides approximately 14.092 million satellite TV customers, as of March 31, 2013, with the highest quality programming and technology with the most choices at the best value(opinion), including HD Free for Life®. DISH Network Corporation is a Fortune 200 company(but don't look at how leveraged it is as a whole). Visit www.dish.com.
  11. As a side note, I hope the day of the vote that Charlie gets a speeding ticket on the way to work, his wife admits to a 20 year affair with a woman because of his smalldickitis, nagra3 gets hacked wide open with FTA boxes again, and all the people he's sued in the last 3 years see him at a bar that night -- ON TOP OF finding out that Sprint laughed at his bid for them. 12. Maybe we should also have a countdown to the vote on Softbank or dish by board. It is going to play a major part in how a good many of us might take our cellular phone business in the future... Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  13. Couple bonded pairs here and there and a card in the C.O. is all in some cases. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  14. I found out that I needed to use that mode with port 1 being where I plug in my bridged modem, but the confusing part, I'm used to having Wi-Fi plus all four router ports as internet access, apparently I don't have that with the other 3 ports, except number 3 or something? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  15. Someone familiar with ubiquity please tell me...what's the difference in router, and SOHO router under the network tab? In router, the LAN had no internet while the wireless LAN did have internet. Changed to SOHO router and both LAN and WLAN had internet and work like normal now. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  16. I had been waiting for a reason to put this Airrouter HP that I bought a while back into service...I really am not that familiar with Ubiquiti products, but decided this was the opportunity to hook it up and let the Ubiquiti airrouter handle the PPPoE protocol on the new DSL line...so I thought "quick job, no problem"... WRONG. I did my best to set the router up according to the proper settings...and got wireless and network tabs set on the ubi router...put the modem in PPPoE bridged mode...and thought that would be it. Kept getting a popup on my laptop soon as I would hit apply and the router rebooted that I needed to enter additional login information, and it would open FFox and take me to a password reset tool for at&t. I knew I had the right password, and kept thinking it was a issue with the router not handling pppoe properly. Many resets later and finally going through the password reset, would you believe that since I took the Netgear/Westell 7550 off of router mode and bridged it that I was FORCED to change the DSL network password in order to use the internet again? It would not connect at all using the old password, and forced me to reset it before it would let the Ubiquiti router connect using PPPoE. I never heard of such...something new AT&T is doing??
  17. I'm starting the work today of separating / balancing, and with the new line being in the back of the house, I'm not going to be able to do what I intended with the Airave and Vonage...I wanted each one on it's own DSL line...then I remembered the GPS antenna that I have to put somewhere... Maybe i'll move vonage to the back... It's gone from an "aha" job to a "ahh hell" job.
  18. I got it hooked up at the box this evening around 5, so I just did a rush job to get the line inside and sync'd. Instead of using the other pair in my cat 5, I just ran a fresh line into my bedroom for now, just so I could do self-install. Had to pick email, DSL network password, etc. For now, the modems are a few hundred feet apart, but I might go back and grab a empty pair in my old DSL line so I can put them side by side and try this pfsense. I don't have the extra network card currently to run them in together, then back out to router. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  19. I don't know that I'm going to do that to begin with (shared bonding)...I think for now, I'll just balance things out using routers....since I have a static IP on my main, current DSL line, I'll use it for the IP cam and my PS3, and the new line will be for phones, receivers, computers, etc....
  20. That times two. I currently have 6mbit down / 512kbit upload, and I'm hooking up a second line with same speeds. So 12mbit down and 1mbit upload Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  21. My current desktop has 1 pci-e x16 and 1 pci-e x4. I think. I built it two years ago, 6 core amd with 8gb of ddr3. One slot is long and has my video card, one is really short, has nothing. Then I have an empty pci slot. I would need a pci-e nic, then a pci nic. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  22. would pci create a bottleneck in a scenario with one on-board and two nic cards?
  23. With pfsense, can I run a virtual machine with that installed and keep my Windows 7 64. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  24. I don't have much exp with that, yet...but I tinkered with it in DD-WRT when my wife wanted me to stop my daughter from staying up all night on her iPod sending texts from that textfree app... So I put a timer on the MAC of the ipod, shutting down i'net after 7:30pm, and not before 9:00am...
  25. They don't because they suck on their dsl. They don't want to maintain it, so they let it sit for years without maintenance. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
