ok I think this is the dialer code.. i thought it was for apple, but the guy told me it was the new one for sprint.. so use at your own peril

    ##873283#

    I tried that...tried *#*#873283#, ##873283##, it's not for the Note 20 5G...

The wifi calling, I don't understand...Does wifi calling touch a tower at all..or does it route everything to the wifi connection for the call?  It amazes me that after going to town (where I connect to some very good 600/700mhz 5G signal) I have wifi calling for about 20-30 minutes. Maybe even an hour. Then it just goes away.. Might go away on mine...or my wife...or both...but it just quits...and I get the "no mobile network" error...

SCP shows IWLAN..but then says the provider is AT&T. I'm on my PC so I'll add a SS by editing this post from my cell...

I would think that if I'm on Wifi calling, it would show the provider as T-mobile...but maybe not. Never paid much attention to it...

I also don't see anything on my account details page about wifi calling, but it has worked for me since I got the two note 20's (3 days ago)...so I know it's capable of using wifi calling. Just something about being out of service area and trying to use it.  I'm leaning towards going back to Sprint SIM on at least one of the two phones (either me or my wife)... just to have a working phone. I'm not sure Tmobile can solve this network connectivity issue quickly/easily..if at all for me in this area..unless they do turn up the 600 power so that it stretches another 3-4 miles towards me..

Dreaming/wishful thinking I suppose..but I hate to switch both SIMs back to Sprint and miss out of the possible upgrades that might happen around me.  Seems as though they are moving rather quickly towards getting the network combined.

  2. It's a horrible time for my wife and I to be having these issues with service. She had a surgery yesterday with an overnight hospital stay..and service at the hospital was great...but then we came home around 12pm today...and found out that her dad has to be admitted to the hospital for  something similar to bradycardia ...or afib... and has to stay overnight tonight with a procedure to shock back the rhythm tomorrow... so trying to keep the phones working is frustrating.

I did try the band selector Samsung app...didn't have much luck with it...the only thing it will for sure lock on is B12 AT&T (which is the tower that's 1 mile away..the same one that Tmo used to have roaming agreements with).

Can anyone tell me what I can look forward to with Tmobile SIM? The 600mhz is in 35150, but the power level must be too low to get all the way to me...it reaches out to about 2-3 miles from my house and drops off. Same for the 700mhz...

Do they plan to turn up some of these sites where they can and move out the Sprint LTE?  I keep hoping something will change where I wake up one day and have great service and can do all the stuff that everyone else is privy to...but I know after 12 years with Sprint service...that's a pipe dream and not likely to come to fruition.  Of that 12 years with Sprint...11.5 of those years was spent using an Airave. I had the very first Airave that was Samsung branded...and I still have one sitting in the corner right now... Got an email around October saying I needed to dispose of it because "Tmo is great now"....and they removed it from my account.

    Thanks.

  3. So...After 1 1/2 year of the GN10+ with Sprint sim...I finally had to switch due to ...well just wanting to see if TMO worked really. I shouldve just stayed where I was honestly...so disappointed....TMO still doesn't have service around my home... I knew that 12 years ago when I went from TMO to Sprint...because literally one day TMO worked fine, then next day they didnt. TMO allowed their roaming agreement with AT&T to expire on the tower that is 1 mile from my house...and service literally went to sh*t...like, over night.

So not much has changed. We got the Galaxy note 20 5G(not ultra)...and they made me get the TMO SIM... (or that's what they sent with it).

RIght off the bat, I see that I can no longer ##72786# on my dialer...so I have no way to force the network refresh that used to fix my problems...living on a fringe service area for Sprint...I would just fix the issues myself instead of bothering CSR on the phone... So if anyone knows the dialer codes for TMO...please let me know. It sucks to be stuck with no wifi calling, no mobile signal...and the message that I can only make emergency calls ...

The other problem that I have is...for years now I've had an airave with Sprint. Living on that fringe area...I've needed to have an airave..and it worked fine.

When I spoke to GS in Magic Box management ....he told me that i was on the line where their license wouldn't allow them to send me a Magic Box ...so he instead sent me a type of Airave device. It isn't listed on my account, and it doesn't make the traditional "beep" prior to a phone call connecting..but it does enhance B41 data speeds...

Now I spoke with the CSR yesterday who informed me that I couldn't receive a Pebble because it only works with Sprint SIMs...and won't do anything for TMO service/SIM...

He suggested that I wait 24 hours to let the provisioning fully take affect on my new phones and promised that I would see a difference. I woke up in the middle of the night, last night..and checked to see if could still make a wifi call..nope. For whatever reason...wifi calling will work for a little while, then it stops...and mobile has nothing but AT&T B2.. so I get nothing but data with my wifi connection. Yesterday the same thing happened. I had to drive up the road 4 miles to my fire dept, where I know for sure Tmo service works well (B71)... and let the phones activate. Once they  activated, I went back home. After I got home, Wifi calling worked for about 30 minutes just like it should...then it suddenly stopped. Airplane mode did nothing to bring it back...reboot did nothing...so I waited until later..around 8pm last night..and did the same thing. Service came back again...and I went home with the same result on wifi calling --- it worked for a little while but it eventually stopped working and I reverted to getting that "emergency calls only" message.

Can anyone give me some heads up on the dialer codes?Anything that I can do to refresh the network??? Galaxy Note 20 5G.

    Thanks guys.

  4. At this point, there's no way to continue getting yearly upgrades unless you fork over a couple grand to do it... and really the only reason I wanted to upgrade just one of my devices, was to see if any 5G becomes available near me.  I like the Note 10+, not that worried about 5G because I dont even get signal at home... but this move away from the loyalty program has me thinking about the Oneplus 5g as my next option.

We already lost the consumer loyalty program. Then, the yearly upgrade fee that was a waste also, and likewise went away. Now they've silently deleted the Samsung forever program. 12 years of dealing with everything from no service to broken phones (before insurance)....I had to add a 3rd line because my primary phone was broken and was under contract that I couldn't buy out. And all the money I spent buying out contracts..oh my.

Just seems counter intuitive.  Not my business, just my stock and I hope they do well.

I was able to preorder the 512gb Ultra about 45 mins ago using the My Sprint app.

Yeah I just discovered it...and they've lost their damn minds.

Pay $600 now, $30/month for the new note...plus send back the note 10+ that I currently have.

Not once, but twice..because me and wife both have note 10+.

So...$1200 up front, send back the phones we've spent $900 in the last 12 months, and "finance" another phone for 18 months/24 months whatever.

Nah..I'll pass. Oh..and I found out just now that samsung for life apparently is gone. Nice news to get when I'm thinking we've been a part of it ...

  6. I can't understand what is happening. Apparently the LTE airave.. will not work here. Voice won't connect but data says its working fine on the airave. Rep said it likely won't work.. but data is connected?

Speed tests are nothing (I have 600meg/700meg fiber) and tests show 39mbps down, 7mbps up.

  7. Now they've sent me a 2nd airave (LTE) and the guy I spoke with this morning has directed me to move the actual box itself so that it's facing east/north east so that it may help it work...because for whatever reason it will not connect. He said something about the airave not working in this location any longer, but I used one from 2010 until 2016, then used the magic box from 2016 till 2018...then the licensing on magic box changed and I tried to revert back to airave...

I didn't think the placement of the box mattered...the GPS is fine and solid green..and long as you got GPS and good internet...it would broadcast just fine???

  8. And I can't believe it's been TWO DAYS and this new Airave 3 STILL has red lights and won't just connect!!

I was unaware of the Airave 3 having a data side, and a voice side until I got the box in..and saw it.. So it has the LTE side on one set of lights, and the CDMA side on the other set of lights.

Here's the thing..the LTE side is connected with ALL green lights. The voice side has 2 green, and 2 blinking red.

Reset after reset...unplugged for hour..plugged back in...

    I'm at a loss!

Our phones very  rarely connected well to our magic box when I lived with my ex in the old place though when they did our service went from "meh" to very good. Where I live now I get great service with Sprint on band 41 even deep inside my apartment. Never less than 100 down.  But I've lived here a year and haven't once felt the need to even plug in the magic box. He took the dog and I got this silly MB that I've never even felt the need to use in my new spot?  At least my dating apps load lickety split here on band 41! 😂

I got fiber optic internet service back in October 2019, so the Airave // Airvana // MB working like it should hasn't been a huge issue for us. We can all connect to wifi-calling with our phones and all of us make a phone call at the same time..and still have plenty of internet. I would even be willing to let T-mo place a small cell on a pole in my yard and have a fiber drop put on it. I'm sure they would want a scalable link, probably with gigabit speeds..and I don't know if they could achieve it with current equipment without adding some stuff to it.. I get  this type of speed when I do a test on my speeds:

I can only find an eBay listing of a C5000, no other info, but it appears to be an LTE only femtocell. There's no CDMA status light. It's probably from the Airave 3 days, but it's not an Airave 3.

It's possible that it was an engineering unit and is on an engineering account at Sprint instead of your personal account. Some of us have engineering Magic Boxes (pre-release models) that are on internal engineering accounts instead of our personal accounts.

The rep who sent me the Airave THREE...(I say that because I have 8 devices and with the Airave 3, my watch and tablet are shit out of luck)

She said her GPS map didn't show anything at my address and it shouldn't shown something. So I don't know what the thing does, but it wasn't helping my calls, and only made my phones show LTE when I was connected to Wifi...how odd is that?

I wanted the Airave 4 because it can handle 8 connections instead of 6...but that didn't happen.

And, nearly 24 hours later, the airave 3 they sent is STILL not provisioning correctly. I can't get rid of the stupid red lights..and it's been plugged up for over 8 hours this time around.

I did port forwarding...then I tried just putting the Airave in the DMZ on my router. Still no go.

Airvana is an Airave 2.5 I believe (might be the 2.5+). No LTE.

All Airaves have beeps on CDMA. Even the 4. If you don't hear the beeps, you aren't using the Airave.

So what box do I have...I'll take a few pics and show it..but I don't understand the purpose of being sent the box if it wouldn't help voice, and didn't help data either. It really just sat there with some pretty solid green lights all the time...
