  1. Just ran a speed test in Roanoke county. Not too bad actually.
  2. LTE working with Sprint on Projectfi in Roanoke! I was unable to get a buddies boost phone to connect though.
  3. Most certainly true for rural. I would venture to say that 95% of my time is spent in Roanoke City, Salem, and periodically throughout Roanoke County. I've never had an issue with LTE service from T-Mobile. I came from 5 years of Sprint service, so being able to have LTE where I am most of the time is a big sell for me. I basically have what I always wanted from Sprint. I also travel to San Diego to see family and into Mexico. Having the international data and text was a big plus. For $40 bucks a month, I figured it was worth a try. Now to keep in line with this thread.... were iz ma 4G'ssss, Sprunt!?!?!?!?!?
  4. Since there has been no further news regarding Sprint being allowed on nTelos 4G in this area, I figured I would update that I switched to Project FI. It's interesting to see the amount of holes from T-mobile's LTE coverage in Roanoke get filled with usable 3G. I am a light user so this allows me the freedom to roam about without worrying about signal loss. Figured I would share with the community, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
  5. I copied this from r/T-Mobile just to make sure you saw it... I live in Roanoke. T-mobile does not have a dense netwrok outside of the main, city limits. I used Sprint before and always had some form of 3G (Ntelos towers). I live in the downtown area of Roanoke and don't travel to rural areas very often, so T-mobile works for me (I also like buying unlocked phones and changing them out often) I think that Sprint is probably going to be a better choice for you. I have a co-worker that lives in the Lynchburg/Bedford area and he always has service in that area. He travels 460 daily and commutes to Bristol, VA as well with no issues.
  6. I know that most of the messages that I get from Sprint are BS, general blanket messages regarding the progress of their network, but this one actually sounds legit? Anyone care to weigh in on this new message I got from them today?
  7. Yeah, that is kind of what I figured. I would think that Roanoke would be high on the priority list for Ntelos 4G upgrades though. It seems foggy at best on whether or not Sprint customers will immediately see the benefits of that upgrade, but it would be a start.
  8. My roommate recently received the standard network upgrade in the next month text. I, however, have not. Both on Sprint. This is in Roanoke, VA. Generally 240k down and 80k up using speed test. I normally don't venture in to the store often as they generally don't know anything useful, but all these posts have me hopeful for LTE soon in the area.
