  1. There are 6 Sprint towers that serve the Davis area.Only 1 have the advanced backhaul required by network vision specifications to allow the activation of LTE services. The other 5 are waiting on backhaul contractors to deliver the upgraded backhaul.

Triband users may be able to connect to the former Clearwire network which may or may not have been upgraded to dual mode Wimax + TDD-LTE functionality.

Sweet, so when all 6 are completed how will the coverage be like?
  2. Yeah, I wouldn't get too excited. Maybe it's a safer bet that the Kings will make it to the playoffs before we see consistent (ie usable) LTE. My phone flashed LTE for very short periods, sometimes I'm able to run a sensorly test, usually I fumble too much. It shows most when I wake my phone. It's been shy the last couple days, or more likely I've not been paying attention.

Even if the queens won every single game from now on, they wouldn't get a seed.
  3. Have patience. Modesto only started having LTE integration about a month after it was 3G integrated. They've been going on a steady pace ever since they began and they're only 4 or 5 more towers away from launch status.

Davis was integrated 2-3 weeks ago. So it should be relatively soon when the LTE integration team checks by. Last checked the 3G speeds are actually usable now compared to before so it'll be not as painful of a wait. TDD-LTE Band 41 Spark will follow in the next few weeks / months so that's also a plus.

Cool, a friend of mine said 3G got better here. Today I updated my PRL from a verizon back to sprint, buy went from 200kbps to 20, so I'm not sure if it was just my location or things haven't changed. I have a note 2 and it went on the 2011 PRL, is that the most recent one or did I just get a bad update? My phone has a custom ROM if that affects it.
  4. Davis + Woodland + Dixon has already been cluster launched for 3G and have 3G/800 in testing / live. 4G LTE will be fired up at each site one by one as the backhaul vendors deliver the upgraded backhaul to the sites. When will that happen? Nobody knows as that's dependent on which provider was contracted to do the work and their own schedules.

Cool thanks. A while back I had LTE in sacramento but since I'm on a verizon PRL (and too lazy to constantly change them) I have no idea when it's up and running. I'll be checking these following weeks though, it seems as if Sprint is rebuilding big. Gonna be an exciting year.
