  1. This is all great news. I'm hopeful that the will be more reports of live LTE in NYC before the month is up. I could be totally wrong, but perhaps there are more LTE towers that exist in the NYC market that Sprint didn't list as complete. Without going to any details, I didn't see many LTE towers listed in NYC, but I'm hopeful that there are more than I know of, or more to be listed very soon.
  2. That's great news. Whereabouts were you when you briefly connected? There's only one live tower reported in NYC and its around the Burke ave area of the Bronx. I have yet to check for myself.
  3. Someone has to confirm that there is indeed a live LTE signal at Burke Avenue. I'm like 30 minutes away so I'll eventually investigate. I'dlike confirmation first though.
  4. Oh wow. That's not sounding very promising. The city can't launch with one lte tower for 5 Boros and 8 million+ people anytime soon. Hopefully they'll pick up the pace.
  5. I don't know the actual number of completed lte sites in NYC, but I'm hopeful that Sprint will have some live lte sites in NYC by November. Even if the coverage is spotty.
  6. Ok Robert. I'll look into that. This site has been an invaluable resource. Without it, we'd all be in the dark since Sprint has been holding their cards pretty close to the chest. Like most of us, I'm impatient and as a New Yorker, I feel that Sprint should prioritize one of their largest markets, even though I know better.
  7. I wouldn't have too much envy, as much of NYC is in the same boat. Sme areas have abysmal 3G speeds ( even though others are great in the city), and we don't have imminent LTE. All we have are rumors of a October or November possible prelaunch, with no confirmation from Sprint. I'm so desperate that I scout for towers and towers being worked on a daily basis.
  8. I'm sure all of us NYers are hoping to taste lte, even if it's spotty, in the next month or so. I give Sprint credit, because I've noticed improvements in 3g data speeds throughout the city, but there's no substitute for 4g. With my WiMax devices, I would get peak speeds of over 11mbps down. That's still better than peak 1mbps evdo speeds. I believe Sprint can come through, but they never specified in writing when NYC would get lte. Only internally was October a goal. We'll just have to see, because "in the coming months" is as vague as can be. To me that means more than a month, less than a year.
  9. Based on Robert's last update, it seems as though NYC is slightly behind schedule as far as completion with only 9%+ done. I'm really crossing my fingers that at least some lte towers go live in October, as my Galaxy S3 feels crippled without the high speeds.

  12. I can assure you that wwJoshDo is the real deal. It's great news for people in those markets because it proves that Sprint's peak lte speeds can hold their own against Verizon
