  1. i had something like that happen before and almost panicked because i thought my phone had been hijacked. update prl and profile, and it should go away. of course, my issue was way before wifi calling was available.
  2. None that i can find, and it randomly stops/starts working again. and i can see the phone switching to 1x to receive the call via signalcheck, but it doesnt actually ring.
  3. Absolutely, on both. the problem seems to clear up and re-appear randomly. im waiting on the network group to call me back at this point.
  4. im starting to think i have a defective phone. no problems on Wednesday, but the problems returned on Thursday. I watched the phone switch to 1x when i called it, but no ring. I even switched it to CDMA only, no ring. Switched airplane mode off and on, no ring. Rebooted, no ring. does this sound like a netork or a phone problem. im beginning to really believe its a phone issue.
  5. I checked on my way home and the areas where i was having issues previously were not in low signal areas for either LTE or 1X. Having said that, I had no issues on my drive yesterday or this morning. Maybe the re-provisioning of my phone did actually do something?
  6. Hmmm. i dont think it is low signal when the calls wont go through, but it is definitely sitting on LTE. Ill have to check.
  7. During my travel to and from work, i have noticed that i can now keep an LTE connection the whole way. I knew there was LTE there because my S4 kept a connection, so I had CSFB issues before. But now that i can keep an LTE connection, i thought the CSFB issues had been resolved. No such luck i guess. Thanks for all the clarification.
  8. I thought as much, and told him that this could not be a phone issue but a network issue. He never agreed, but he never disagreed either.I thought that CSFB issues were related to data only?
  9. Im not sure if this has been covered before, but im going to post it here just in case. I had an interesting talk with network support this afternoon.I have been having issues with receiving calls in certain areas of my drive, and ended up getting a network ticket opened. During my call he asked me to verify that my phone was on CDMA only. When i told him it wasnt, He immediately said "well thats your problem". He told me that it was a known issue with tri-band devices in tri-band areas. He told me to leave my phone on CDMA only unless i needed the higher data speeds. as long as it stayed on CDMA it wouldnt have a problem receiving calls. it goes back to the single antenna path and handoffs in the network. He said that they have had a bulletin on it since January. It upsets me that i cant use my new phone to its full potential, but i would rather have lower data speeds than not get calls.
  10. so the site doesnt broadcasts the information on the lte bands, its not the fact that the app doesnt display it. bummer. thanks for the info!
  11. why doesnt the lte side show the location? it wasnt a problem when i had a phone that could be on 2 bands, but the M8 cant do that, so i have no ide where the tower is. are there plans to add this in the future?
  12. I probably wont go back either. I only used it for a couple of reasone. 1) I hate the visual voicemail app. 2) Call screening. but the app needs a LOT more work for it to really be viable. I guess ill stick with visual voicemail, because I don't want this happening again.
  13. I finally managed to get someone at Sprint who knew what they were doing, and thought I would pass on the results so that others may benefit. The problem with both phones was Google Voice. removing Google voice from the phone accounts seems to have solved the issues with not being able to receive phone calls. She explained that something gets messed up with Google voice, and it never delivers the call to the phone. It has been 12 hours now, and we are both still receiving calls normally. I had to escalate to the Network Issues team to find someone who knew what to look for. She told me that she was absolutely positive that this would fix the problem, as she had seen it many times before. She seems to have been right. She told me i could add it back on immediately, but i probably wont. We really only used it for the call filtering feature. Well, it filtered too much...
  14. we are having terrible problems with being able to receive calls right now on her phone. she can make calls, as well as send and receive text messages and data. its driving me nuts! now my m8 is also doing the same thing. my s4(different account), does not have the problems. the 1x800 issue seems to have gone away for the most part.. i have tried all the tricks i know of, to no avail. does anyone have any suggestions? im losing what little hair i have left.
  15. Do they prefer 800 over 1900, even with a higher signal strength? the signal is -105db on 1x800 and -79db on 1xrtt. I had her unplug the repeater and plug it back in, and her phone went back to 1xrtt. None of my phones exhibit this issue, only hers.
  16. Does anyone know how to disable 1x800 on the M7? My wife's phone seems to prefer the lower signal of 1x800 over the higher 1xrtt signal for some reason, and it is killing her battery. We have a 1900mhz repeater in the house, pointed straight at the tower. So there is no reason for the phone to be choosing 800mhz over 1900mhz. This is a replacement phone, and it is now doing the same thing as the one that it replaced. Sprint is, of course. giving her the runaround.
  17. i have just noticed that my phone seems to be completely dropping voice and data connectivity. it started with my wife complaining that her calls werent getting through to me on my drive home. i noticed yesterday with signal check, that my connectivity was completely dropping. the sprint portion of the phone was still saying i was connected to lte on the status bar, but signal check showed no connection. during this time, i couldnt call the phone, but it didnt go straight to voicemail. it still rang 5 times. when it did re-connect to the network, it was lte. i didnt notice the band though. is this a phone problem or a network problem? all opinions welcome...
  18. I would love to find a way for the phone to beep when the call is connected after putting it up to your ear to answer. Maybe i have just missed it though. I always give it a few seconds just to make sure the call is connected before speaking. I know it stops ringing, but it would be great to actually know the call is connected.

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

yes. replaced with the sense 6.0 upgrades for other platforms.
  20. I ordered mine from sprint, and had some horrible connection problems while travelling in a certain area of Dallas. The phone would completely drop connection to the towers, and then re-connect until i got out of the area. Once the update came out, that problem stopped, but it still has trouble keeping an LTE connection in the same area. i can get it onto LTE by toggling airplane mode, but when i change towers, it drops back to 3G. once i am out of that area, it will hold the 4G signal. im just guessing thats an CSFB issue?
  21. How can you tell when you are connected to a spark site? Is it by checking the frequency in signalcheck, or another method? I have also been having trouble in the north side of the DFW area with connecting to towers on LTE with the M8, while the S4 does not. i am having to cycle airplane mode to get it to connect to LTE, but it seems to drop back to 3G when i change towers(guessing). At times the LTE signal does not show a frequency in signalcheck. Once i move south of I-20, i dont seem to have the problem any more. Is this a CSFB issue that i am running into?
  22. thank you both! I have added this to my running list of dialer commands.
