You would just buy it outright?
Sent from my Galaxy SIII using Tapatalk 2
If i didn't have an upgrade available, yes I would. But odds are I'll have an upgrade available. Again, this is only if it comes to sprint. Otherwise, im not going to buy it.

And the rollout has started! Now we just play a waiting game to see when our phones get it. Rollout is 7/12-7/20.

I was an early victim of the superbrick. There are work arounds that the devs have put in place and now that the source is out' date=' they can completely squash the bug.[/quote']
I've been hearing about Agat's FF18 recovery, saying that it can flash be ICS roms without the EL29 kernel needing to be flashed.
-
I take back my previous statement, as Samsung has officially released Source. Now we just play the OTA waiting game.
Hopefully they fixed their kernel. The sgs2 has been plagued by a kernel bug that has to do with deleting data' date=' you can get corruption in the actual physical memory module and get a totally bricked device i heard. Usually happens when deleting anything in the system partition with an ics kernel, all the guys with ROMS had been using gingerbread kernels before messing with anything in the system partition, but the error could occur anywhere (system flashes are simply larger and more strenuous).[/quote']Ahh the emmc bug. I'm hoping it's gone as well, as I would like to flash between ICS Roms without having to go back to the EL29 kernel.

As much as I can tell about Sprint's update history I'm not believing this until I see an official announcement or the actual rollout. I want to believe it though, and I hope it's true.
-
I read this earlier today' date=' I was hoping they could confirm a 1080p screen. If they do that I am getting it for sure.[/quote']
I'm getting it either way. As long as it's a significant upgrade from the forst, and it's on Sprint.

Nexus 7
Nexus Q
Nexus 10
Nexus Phone
Nexus Note (Pholet/Tabone [please' date= please, please, drool])
I could have sworn the other day I, read somewhere that they could be coming out with some sort of Android based game console. Can't seem to remember where though. I highly doubt it, as I'd rather have a Nexus Phablet, but i guess it's possible.

You gotta love The Whitest Kids You Know.

Maybe. But I only want 7 inches. 10 inchers are too large. Let the jokes begin...

That's what she said!
But on a serious note, I personally think that 8.9 inches is the perfection tablet size. It just seems to fit perfectly in my hands.

It was actually 2.3.5, my bad. I forgot what the last update was to.
How much RAM does the OG Evo have? I seem to remember 384MB' date=' which is the same as my OG Epic. Guess that means that Sense/Gingerbread is a pretty heavy skin, since performance actually *improved* on the Epic as it went from Eclair to Froyo to Gingerbread, at least in my experience.[/quote']I thought that it had 512MB? I guess it was probably around 384 or something around there due to the OS.
But yeah, Sense was a pretty heavy skin. And it was all the way up to Sense 3.5 I believe. And then if I remember right, HTC made Sense 4 alot lighter. But they never put anything newer than sense 1 on the OG Evo.

If they rollout jellybean for the evo 4g lte I might not upgrade. I still have the bad memories of all the problems with my evo shift after the upgrade to gingerbread. If its not broke don't fix it!
The OG Evo was terrible after its Gingerbread update. Even the patch update that also brought it to 2.3.7 brought even more problems. That's what made me decide I won't buy HTC again until their updates improve alot.

You cannot forget that Google's rumored Siri competitor "Majel" could possibly make is debut on Jelly Bean. I for one am hoping that it gives OEMs an easier way to update the OS too. Cause the wait for some devices is absolutely terrible. Alot of the wait is from added boat that some carriers(*coughcough*Sprint*coughcough*) put into the device, and the custom skins. It would be great if Google could set limitations on both of those things in Jelly Bean.

the problem is that the one on the ad had a white bezel around screen that looks bad' date=' hopefully they do it like the one x and the nexus, white with black screen border, it should look like this quick photoshop i did.
[/quote']
That Photoshop makes it look alot better.
-
Yeah' date=' I saw this earlier. My wife is gonna be pissed. And here is a partial shot from a Sprint ad:
[/quote']
I personally think that the white Evo LTE down in the ad looks ugly. I personally prefer white phones(I have the white OG Evo and the white Epic 4G Touch), but the way it's down in the ad just didn't look right. I hope it actually turns out looming better than that.

Swiftkey 3 is now out of beta! It is now in the Play store for $1.99

If this come on Sprint in the same amount of time that the S3 came to US, and the specs don't disappoint me, I'm buying this first thing. I really want the Note as it is. But the Note 2 sounds a hell of alot better.

Back when I had my original Evo, I took it in to my local Sprint store. I was using Launcher 7 at the time, and as soon as the guy looked at it, the thought I was rooted and running a custom ROM(which neither were the case). He tried to tell me that I had too many apps downloaded and needed to delete some things, when I had at least 100 MB of open storage. I ended up calling their customer service number, where my problem got fixed then. Back when my old Hero was having problems, I had taken it in 3 or 4 times with no fixes, and then I decided to root and put CM7 on it. Fixed my problem easily.
-
This is exactly what I've been waiting for. If it's not too expensive, I'll be buying as soon as possible when it releases as long as I have the money. I just hope it's less than $400.

Just an update: the latest leak, FF11, seems to be the final. One of the members of XDA claims that there will be no more RDFs, and another claims it is the last leak. Speculation is that we will see OTA after the SIII gets released, probably Monday the 25th. Calkulin stated that FF11 is final as well.

My thoughts on this is that the article never says that they are phones. It only refers to them as devices. My hopes are a phablet, 3 normal phones, and a tablet.

Do you think the reason, why Samsung hasn't released ICS for the Galaxy 2 Series is because they are adding features to it? Like they are adding some of the GSIII features to the build? After seeing the press release and launch I would love to have some of those features from the GSIII on the GSII....
That would be great. Although it could just be that they want to get 4.0.4 running correctly on it. According to the FE07 RDF document that was released yesterday, the FE07 build will be running on 4.0.4. I would love to see S Voice and the feature where it stays on when you're looking at it. Is that second one baked into the SIII's software only or is there a special lens in the front camera that features that capability?

The FD24 "leak" is supposedly the official build of ICS for E4GT, with all the bugs worked out of it. The zipped file to update manually through stock recovery was also leaked.
Here's the review:
Here's how to update manually:
I also have a question. How safe is flashing the update zip through stock recovery? I'm unrooted and I really want to do this but I don't want to end up bricking my phone.

I've been planning on leaving Sprint for T-Mobile prepaid and getting an unlocked Galaxy Nexus from Google. But if the Note II comes to Sprint, I may just stay...
