  1. a lot of us at my work have to use the wilson sleek because our building is made of metal and is killer on signal. even though its not meant for B25 or B26 it does work on them. In the past few days a 2nd B25 carrier has gone live in my area, which does fall within the frequencies the sleek works on, and you can tell that its doing a better job at boosting that frequency. I get about 5db better signal from the 2nd B25 carrier from the same tower. we did attempt a "room" type booster at one point, i'm not sure if its because it was a cheap no-name brand from china, or if it just wasn't designed for B25 frequencies so it didn't boost them at all, but it was crap. we basically had to be within a few feet of the antenna to get any kind of signal gains, and then the signal would be really strong but there was so much noise at that point either data wouldn't work or our phones would get kicked off of LTE. hopefully you have good luck! based on using the sleek it should be doable, just not sure why my attempt at a room one failed, maybe you will have better luck getting a more reputable brand, we were trying to go cheap so it was less than $200 for the booster and 2 antennas.....
  2. I have the TP-Link Archer C7 as well as the sprint asus wifi connect router that the were giving out for free (haven't looked in a while not sure if they still do this) they both have been working really well. the only issue i have had with the asus one is disconnecting when streaming xbox one to a windows 10 laptop. switching to the Archer makes that issue go away. everything else has been working great.
  3. and of course they are down over 8% in pre-market trading because they missed "analysts" estimates......
  4. this is correct, we don't have anything next to the G block here so they would have to eat into the B block more to expand the 2nd B25 to a 10x10. would be nice though because we would then have a 10x10 and a 5x5, but i don't think they will be able to refarm that much CDMA/EVDO anytime soon.
  5. does anyone know yet what what the exact speed "2g" speed throttling would be reduced to?
  6. from the FAQ about the 23 gig limit for those who didn't read it What is this about 23 GB of data usage? In an effort to provide as much information to our customers as possible, Sprint wants to ensure that customers who are interested in our unlimited data plans are aware that customers who use high volumes of data may be impacted by our Quality of Service network management practices. What is Quality of Service? To help protect against the possibility that unlimited data plan customers that use high volumes of data may occupy an unfair share of network resources, Sprint employs network prioritization, or Quality of Service (QoS), for customers that use more than 23 GB (adjusted periodically) of data during a single billing cycle. Impacted customers are de-prioritized as compared to other customers at times and places where the availability of network resources is constrained. Does that mean customers on this plan are actually limited to 23 GB of data? No. Impacted unlimited data customers can use unlimited amounts of data above and beyond the 23 GB threshold, though impacted customers may experience reduced throughput and increased latency compared to other customers while network resources are constrained. These temporary reductions in performance will only occur at times and places where capacity is constrained. Is Quality of Service the same as throttling? No. With throttling, when you hit the applicable data threshold, your wireless data speed is reduced for your entire cycle, 100% of the time, no matter where you are. With QoS, your data is de-prioritized only when and where network resources are constrained.Once network resources are no longer constrained or you move to a non-constrained location, your speed will return to normal.
  7. Ames already has some B41, got this next to memorial union on ISU campus this weekend
  8. as far as performance and heat go yes they are. I haven't had near as many issues since they update before last. Thats not to say something doesn't lock up or hang or get laggy once in awhile, but i would say thats no different than any other phone. My only remaining concern is battery life, it seems to be all over the place for me and there is no good indicator of why. I've installed the GSAM battery monitor app and it never shows any apps out of whack with battery usage. I also started using LUX to control screen brightness and that doesn't seem to make a difference. Sometimes i get an hour to 1.5 hours of screen on time before i'm needing to charge, other times i get well over 2.5 hours :/
  9. i did too! i didn't talk to my wife on her way home last night so i don't know if it would have been HD or not, but my dad called me (he is on a H/K M8 no wifi calling at all) and that call did not have the HD voice icon. its not that my calls sound bad either, they do sound really good, like maybe they are HD, its just not displaying the icon? i don't know, its very hit or miss though.
  10. i don't know if something changed or i just have had good luck, but Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week when my wife called me on her way home all of those calls were HD. I did take wifi calling off my phone early last week but i still had a mix of HD and non-HD calls after doing that. now that i posted this when she calls me tonight it probably won't be an HD call
  11. each of those cities has 1 B41 tower. unless the building you work in is killer on signal i'm surprised you are on 3G a lot. I drive down 70th in front of camp dodge on my commute everyday and i have strong B41 the entire way from the tower thats up the road there. so while inside you may not get B41 you should have B25/B26 being so close to the tower. i know the M9 has issues but i haven't really heard of the M8 having any significant RF/LTE issues. building construction materials can be killer to signal, at my work the building has metal sides and a metal roof, i get a good -95 db B25 signal out in the parking lot but up in my office i barely get a B26 signal, if it wasn't for my wilson sleek cradle i wouldn't have any LTE in my office
  12. will you need to be present in the live chat drawing in order to win?
  13. so is it any wifi calling on any line? or just with iphones? i had put wifi calling on my line maybe a year ago but i don't use it (which is not an iphone) i've never done wifi calling on my wifes line which is an iphone. she is the one i talk to the most and prior to june every call was HD, but since june only a handful have been. i haven't changed anything in that time frame either.
  14. ZV8 update out for the Flex 2 now. Says its a fix for the "stagefright" issue as well as other bug fixes, improvements, and enhancements.
  15. had my first HD call in awhile with my wife on her way home, not sure if it was just a fluke or something has changed/been fixed....
  16. just posting confirmation that CA from 2 different B41 towers can happen. This is sort of unique situation though, the primary connection is coming from a tower that does not have CA enabled, and the secondary connection is coming from a tower that does have CA enabled.
  17. nope! of course it has taken about 5 updates to get it to a working state
  18. the last update my flex 2 received got rid of the spinning icon. that was probably 3 months ago or so.
  19. Has anyone else noticed that HD Voice isn't always happening? I noticed the other day while talking to my wife on her way home that the call didn't sound HD like it used to. so i looked at my phone and it was sitting there with the "HD attempting..." message. After we hung up I went back through my call log and I had only had a couple of HD calls to sprint people since late June. Prior to that almost all of them were HD. When she got home i tested it and that call showed the HD voice icon. Its been a few days now since that test and still, i'm not getting HD voice calls where the HD icon shows up while on the call or in the call log afterward. its not that the quality of the calls has been bad per se, but they don't sound HD like they did.
  20. you know they are rolling it out everywhere when 2nd carrier/CA shows up in des moines, IA where there are only 12 B41 towers live currently omaha, NE is also showing 2nd carrier/CA as well!
  21. CA doesn't show in SCP at this time, what you can see (on the beta currently) is the "Sprint B41^2) indicating you are connected to a 2nd B41 carrier. This is not the same thing as CA. CA means you are connected to 2 B41 carriers at the same time. non-CA capable phones can still connect to either B41 carrier, just not both at the same time. based on mr rogers screenshots it doesn't appear that the M9 will show you in your engineering screens that you are connected to CA. the only way you would be able to tell is if you got a speedtest that was faster than ~80mbps. not to say that if you speedtest lower than that you aren't on CA, you just wouldn't be able to tell for sure.
