I see some talk of the crews getting started in September and some towers coming on-line in October, but then later in this article it mentions April 2013 and Sept 2013. So it this saying that even though the toweds would be ready they wont make the LTE public till April 2013 at the earliest?

I know there is no way to know for sure...but going on this its possible to start seeing some coverage ( at least better 3g coverage in detroit and the water front area) in October? I played with a sg3 yesterday and man im in need of a new phone

Yeah since moving from the metro NYC area to ann arbor i have been on a 4g withdrawl, which is made worse by the fact that att/tmobile/verizon all have LTE/HSPA speeds all around here. So we i recently flew to ATL airport and had a 4hr layover i dusted off the ole 4g toggle and nearly cried when my phone was useful again. Now if i could just get some sort of proper data speeds in michigan then i can purchase some new phones and kick this urge to go to verizon. ( i wont even mention our lack of gsm global roaming with our LTE phones compared to verizon) Great site by the way.
