  1. Quick question for those of you with the device. Does SignalCheck display SNR?
  2. See I keep hearing that, but mine doesn't! Drops B41 at like -108 every time. My N5 keeps it a bit longer even on its new baseband which isn't that good. I am thinking it has to do with every site being very new to B41. Maybe it isn't optimized at all.
  3. Damn... I kind of want to stop by a Sprint store on my way home and grab one, but my wife would kill me. Already bought 3 phones in the last 9 months including the iPhone 6 only 2 months ago. but...but...... I miss Android.
  4. Be sure to give us any RF performance comparisons between this and your old device!
  5. Take a long lunch. Should be worth the drive.
  6. What about signal differences from the same site and serving cell via Signalcheck?
  7. That's what I'm waiting for. Motorola tends to do pretty good with RF, so I am hoping it is better, but I'm sure we will find out soon enough.
  8. Yeah, I see a ton even in the dip on University Ave a few blocks west of Whitney Way. I typically drop LTE for a couple minutes there, but other times I see like 10 neighboring sites all with RSRPs under -115. The one thing I don't get (and this could have to do with the N5 or the radio itself), is that the phone always goes from like 6 neighboring sites to none within a few seconds of each other even while not moving. Could this be what causes the phone to drop straight from B25 to 3G if you lose the site you are connected to? Overall I love the neighboring cells feature. Helps to see what the network is doing behind the scenes a little bit more.
  9. Hmmm. Has been working fine for me with my N5 on Lollipop. I had to grant it root access again through SuperSU though. Edit: Nevermind. You are right. It acts like it does, but nothing actually happens. Noooooo!!
  10. Yeah I actually looked into it, but it is definitely a nonstarter. If there is ONE thing that I don't like about the iPhones it is that it still only has 1 GB of RAM. My gripe with it is that every time I open back up Safari it has to completely reload the current webpage (say you are browsing the web and get a text message. So you open up messaging and reply then go back to Safari). Something I never experienced with Android on my N5. Not a deal breaker by any means, but a minor thing that annoys me.
  11. Yeah. I don't see this thread going anywhere good... Again, I love the iPhone 6. In terms of a device, it beats anything else I have used personally. I just wish iOS was a little bit more open for developers. (Seriously, about 95% of my complaints are that we don't have a public API to create a SignalCheck clone haha )
  12. Trust me. Not even close to the same thing...
  13. I feel like this thread might go downhill quick... Anyway, as someone that has both an iPhone 6 (my current daily driver) and a Nexus 5, I miss Android immensely. iOS has the reputation of an OS that is usually bug free, but I am seeing anything but that. Lots of small issues with iOS 8 so far just like Android. For me it all comes down to customization and openness. Android lets you customize things in so many ways, while iOS is so locked down. For some, being locked down is definitely a good thing, but being a software developer, I like to be able to customize my device as I see fit. The new Android commercial really sums it up for me. "Be together. Not the same." Oh and SignalCheck Pro really is a no brainer. I miss that enough that I activated my old N5 on Ting just so I can have that running while in my car to look for new sites and see if the network is performing any differently (optimizations, etc). To each their own though. Both OSs are definitely good. All comes down to personal preference.
  14. Actually it appears that the devices from Motorola were just recently whitelisted. Check out XDA. Quite a few people are having success now by just entering the information online to activate their devices themselves. Edit: When trying to activate the device yourself online, leave off the last digit from the IMEI. It just needs the MEID and UICC numbers.
  15. Very nice. Now actually a buck less than GPS and free shipping. Ahh decisions - keep iPhone 6 or sell it along with my old N5 and G2 to purchase a N6. Hmmm
  16. - patiently waiting for some thoughts on real life RF performance.
  17. You are lucky that you live in Florida. My wife and I went to Best Buy at 3PM on Thanksgiving last year and waited in line (surprisingly among the first 15 people!)... also just for the experience. We seriously bought an iPod and returned it the next day. What a waste. Anyway - the high was like 15 degrees that day. Some light snow... and the worst part was that LTE wasn't fully lit up in Madison at that point. No data!!!
  18. The 4 that joined my Framily this week aren't on my bill (I don't know them, posted the ID on reddit). I am still only paying for my wife and I (2 lines). I never gave them any info besides the Framily ID and the last 4 of my phone number. No pin, no last name, nothing. Anyone can still join an existing Framily and get their own bill... I think it just depends on the rep you are working with that day.
  19. Well that was simple... My Framily went down to 6 lines yesterday with 3 people leaving, so I posted the ID on reddit and before I woke up today I am at a full 10/10 Framily. If there is anyone out there in need of filling their Framily up, reddit has worked twice for me - and fast too.
  20. So, I know this doesn't exactly fit in here, but I don't feel it warrants its own thread. Our market (Milwaukee market) has been NV complete for some time now. However, yesterday it seems they did a huge "update" to the address given from the 1x site. Most addresses were spot on, and are now in some cases 5 miles away from their real location. Has this been happening anywhere else? Here in the Madison area everything just went bonkers!
  21. Well this is a first for me. Out and about in Sauk City on my home site that is never loaded, always 30/8, and this is what I just got. I noticed mobile websites wouldn't load and decided to test it out. Hmmm hopefully it gets sorted out soon. How long should I let something like this go on before calling Sprint? Never had anything like this before. Thankfully my buddy has wifi ha. EDIT: Nevermind, it's back.
  22. Agreed. Last year was brutal. I remember the week of Jan 6th, I started my new job that Monday in Madison. Well, it never got above 0 until Friday afternoon. Add in the wind chills, and it felt like 40-60 below each morning. That was before I had a garage to park in at night, so I always had to wake up, go outside, and start my car before even eating breakfast or showering for it to be remotely warm by time I left. Oh and the 1-2 inch snowfalls 3 or 4 nights a week that really made my commute a pain (I hate people that live here and can't drive in snow, but I digress). Here's to hoping it is nothing like that this year. Edit: Anyway, how about that N6?! haha
  23. The first part should answer that (wait... now I get it - oops). It certainly isn't possible now. Maybe that is something Mike can do down the road? I'm not sure. I apologize for not reading your initial question better. Sort of half-read it while working. The programmer in me thinks it should be possible... But I have no idea how much additional work that would be on Mike, so I should've left your question alone and let him to the answering!
  24. I don't think that is possible the way it is set up. The log file is just a .csv file created from the database (the .db file). It is a one time thing... a snapshot basically of the database. It's a one way street. It won't read from the .csv file. As of this moment, you need to root your device and find the .db file and then edit it. If you know any programming or SQL it is pretty easy. I took my market's spreadsheet and easily converted it into a usable .db file so all of my site notes are there. Of course, if I am somehow wrong, I am sure Mike will correct me.
