To be honest, I really loved my Note 8 on Sprint.  I turned that in to get my S10+ and to this day, I still miss my old Note 8.  I would be glad to have the Note 8 with VoLTE.  Hopefully Samsung will shift to 3 years of OS updates, especially with the global economy being affected.

I don't expect to ever get android 10, but they have kept the security updates coming.  Not sure how much longer though but it looks to be at least one more.

  2. Looks like the official ruling is out.  It's now officially, official.

I'm sure California and NY are working on their appeals as we speak.  But I imagine that has an even slimmer chance of success than the original lawsuit.

I would imagine Tmo and Sprint will move very quickly to close out the deal at this point.

    Thanks! That’s really helpful.

So it seems that the action point is the $10 amount. Can people wait for it to go substantially above $10? How long do people have on options?

Yes, in my example the strike price is basically a floor. Once the share price is above that you could wait until the price hits $20 before you cashed in. Then you buy your shares at the option price of $10 and you would pocket the difference.

The expiration date of option is something you'll decide on. You can buy options expiring 1 month from now or a year from now. Maybe more. They'll all have different strike prices. You'll have to decide whether the stock price will be above those values within the expiration dates you're looking at.

Now this is all for "call" options. Which means you're wanting to buy shares because the price will rise in the future. There's also "put" options if you want to sell shares because you think the stock will go down in the future.

Wow! That’s incredible. Thanks for the explanation.

I’ve never done options before. This sounded like a good opportunity to do it.

I’m still a little unclear on what “strike price” means in this context though.

The "strike price" is the price at which you can execute the option contract and actually buy the shares.

Simple example. you buy an option contract to buy 100 shares @ $10 per share. The "strike price" is $10. Once the stock price reaches $10 per share you could exercise the option and purchase the underlying shares. Then keep the shares or turn around and sell them.

IMHO yes.  Ordered the Note 8 (pre-owned) early last week for my daughter.  Arrived in perfect condition. I was worried about the battery life but honestly it seems fine.  Charger shipped appears to be a generic, but still has fast charge. No extra nibs for the pen, just the one. I'm not a Samsung person so not sure how long the pen nibs last or how many ship with a new Note. I'm not a Samsung fan but kinda liking the phone. She is very happy with it.

I can tell you that I've had my Note 8 since release day and I've yet to replace the original nib from my pen.  And mine still seens to have plenty of power to run every app out there.  I will say that the battery on phone does not seem to last as long as it used to, but after almost two years that's to be expected.  I need to go my Sprint store and see if they do battery replacements.

  7. Looks like October 1 security patch is incoming. There's mention of some camera improvements coming along for the ride. I would paste the screens hot but it's too big to upload. So I extracted text below.

    Software update information
    • Version: N950USQU5CRIA/N950UOYN5CRIA/N950USQU5CRIA
    • Size: 444.45 MB
    • Security patch level: September 1, 2018
    What's new
    · A new Camera function has been added(AR Emoji, SUPER SLOW-MOTION)
    · The security of your device has been improved.

Hmm... After further reading it claims security and camera improvements but keeps patch days at September 1.

Total Equipment Protection (TEP) has been rebranded and updated as “Sprint Complete”: http://newsroom.sprint.com/sprint-complete-provides-worry-free-wireless-protection-with-enhanced-service-and-repair-and-personalized-on-demand-tech-support.htm

Some pretty substantial changes to the program.

Substantial price hikes too. I got a mailer about this a couple months back and the price for my phone was going up a few dollars a month.  Have to remember to cancel before the new prices kick in.
