  1. Just because 700 isn't available to them nationwide doesn't mean it's not smart to purchase and deploy it where they can. The markets it is available will benefit greatly with the low band spectrum when it's up and running. B26 makes all the difference for Sprint, just as B12 will help T-Mobile where they can get it deployed.

  2. But I don't have to have better credit, for a 2 year??

I don't know the answer, but I don't see why that would matter. As far as credit goes, I know it effects if you need to have a deposit or spending limit, the number of lines you can have and if you need a down payment on easy pay but I doubt it has anything to do with contract vs non contract. Especially since the new plans don't come with a subsidy.

  3. Are there higher credit requirements, when assuming a 2 year contract! Or assuming a line all together??

I am brand new to credit and have been working on building my credit up from nothing! I was able to get sprint with a 3 line limit and a $150 spending limit on each line! That was well over a year ago!

Sprint has been the only company besides t-mobile that even gave me, a look or any service! Verizon sucks on this!

I only used 1 line, I bought my phone outright at that time then went and upgraded to a new phone through easy pay, my phone is fully paid off now though!

It will just eat up one of your available lines on your account.

  4. Have you ever called Verizon CS? I own the Actiontec and it only took a few mins to put it in bridge mode, which gives the Asus WAN a public IP. Maybe one day I'll take the time to do Ethernet from the ONT...lol

Yes, it only takes a few minutes over the phone. You may even be able to do it over chat support, I haven't tried it that way though.

  5. Got mine today! Side note...I have an Airave 2.5+ on my account as well. Wifi Connect router is working great!

I re-setup the whole home network, put my Fios Actiontec in bridge mode so I'm not using it for anything but passing the WAN IP directly to the sprint asus router. Things are much faster now!

Have your ONT provisioned for ethernet, and you can bypass that router completely.

  6. I have the fios gateway router which i am going to switch with my gf for the actiontec. No point in keeping it since ill have the wifi off on it.

As a side note i do have a airave 2.5+ as well.

If you have FiOS tv service, the verizon provided router is required to be on the moca network with the set top boxes for several features such as on demand and the on screen guide to work.

  7. just checked my tracking # and mine says it was delivered. no idea why you are having such issues, i have 2 airaves on my account, both at different locations and not where i'll be using this wifi connect router. but as i said, the airave or where i was using this router never came up in the conversation, just called the number, asked for it, got put on hold while she checked with a supervisor, came back on and verified shipping address and email, and was done.

That's how my first call went. After a few days I noticed I hadn't received any email confirmation for order or tracking so I called back to find out why. After being placed on hold for about five minutes they came back and told me about only being allowed one or the other and the order got auto denied after it was placed and approved by the supervisor. I called back a couple other times and have been told the same thing, router or airave but not both.

  8. The 12v power supply on my Airave 2.5 died and I called in to see if I could get a replacement adapter. Instead they ordered me a replacement Airave 2.5+. The new unit looks the same, but it has some improvements over the 2.5 model. It acquires a GPS and network lock much faster (within a minute or so of first being powered up) and more importantly runs a lot cooler. The 2.5+ uses the same 2A power supply but it's either more power efficient or just has a better heatsink.

  9. For those of you that have an Airave and had a WiFi Connect ordered, have you actually received them? When my replacement Airave 2.5+ came I had to call in to have the square footage increased on the new unit and was again told that it is one or the other on the account. It did not matter that I would be using them in two different locations. Mine was originally ordered but got auto denied by the system after the order was created and approved by the supervisor. I'm wondering what is making it so some accounts are able to have both and others aren't. I was told the non return fee of the router was $85 and is usually higher than the purchase price when it becomes available. I don't mind paying for the device, but they still wouldn't let me order it saying the system says order information coming soon.

That's weird...I got shipping confirmation for mine. I have an Airave 2.5+ on my account (not used for primary line and also used at a different than primary address, which Sprint was ok with). So maybe since it's for different lines, they are ok with me having both?

On a side note...I wonder why Sprint went with the AC66U instead of the AC68U. The difference between the two models is minimal (I like the design for cables of the AC68U better, but that isn't a deal breaker by any means). Seems like a good opportunity for John Leger and his Twitter entourage to blast Sprint again. lol

I was told its based off the account. I may try to purchase my Airave and then see if I can get the router. My ISP provided router is already better in every way except for the WiFi calling qos stuff which is the only reason I was interested in it. I suspect a lot of people are calling about it because they want a free router, not because they actually need it. I have one phone other than my nexus 5 that doesn't support WiFi calling, I may just upgrade that and send back the airave for the router. I can deal with using hangouts VoIP, but I don't want my family having issues.

  11. I noticed I hadn't gotten email for the WiFi Connect. I called support back and was told the router got declined because I had an Airave, and the offer was one or the other but not both. Looks like until Android gets native Sprint WiFi calling built in I won't be able to get one of these. I was also told that I was not even able to purchase one.

  12. I'm trying to be patient with the Pro update but I'm getting a little antsy (not part of the beta. Being on VZW barely any towers broadcast a BSL and the app won't log anything unless I enter a user note, and even then the log is filled with Null entries. I have a trip in a few weeks and plan on doing some data collecting along the way.

Also, not sure if this is something you can add for us VZW users like you've done with Sprint is to include the LTE bands (4 & 13). Some towers I'm finding are broadcasting both bands which I found out using LTE Discovery.

    Thanks!

  13. I was transfered there after I requested since the telesales agent couldn't order it. Rep said it was the wifi connect support team but I knew it was the airave support number when the rep gave it to me.

Airave Rep transfered me out of there once she figured out I wanted a wifi connect router and not an airave and the phone call disconnected during the transfer so I'm not sure where I was being transferred but I'm pretty sure it would be the whole circle back to the number on the sprint site.

    Their number is 1-866-556-7310

That sucks, I did get transferred around a few times before I ended up at Airave support. I wonder if already having an Airave on my account helped in getting the router ordered.

  14. Do you have a phone number for them?

    Sent from my Note 4.

I don't have a direct number. I called customer service and told them I was having problems with my Airave and they transferred me directly.

I got bumped all around the departments earlier today trying to get tone ordered after I read someone was able to order it.

    Meh.

    Sent from my Nexus 5

You could try the Airave support team. Call customer service and ask about the Airave for in home coverage and you'll get transferred. The Airave support team isn't something you would normally get transferred to unless you ask about it specifically.

  15. I got one ordered tonight. I initially called Airave support because the power supply on my unit died and was trying to get it replaced. After setting up an order for a replacement Airave I asked them about the WiFi Connect and they did mention that I had an offer on my account for a free WiFi connect. I was told I needed to have at least one WiFi calling device on my account and because I was already using an Airave for in home coverage I qualified. I was told I should receive it in 2-3 days. It makes sense the Airave team would be sending them out and not sales since it is to boost in home coverage.

  16. Even after the 5.0 upgrade, my phone does not make HD calls. Can anyone confirm if they have been able to with the Note 3? Also, for some reason the upgrade turned off my BC10. i had to re-enable it to get it back on 800mhz.

Are you fully integrated with Google Voice? Sprint HD calling and Google Voice are not compatible.

  17. This needs to be emphasized further.  According to the article, if you sign up for Project Fi, Google Voice capability is not just removed from the Nexus 6 -- it is removed entirely from your Google account.  You lose Google Voice across all devices.

    AJ

This ensures I won't be be trying this out. Google Voice is something I'm not willing to give up, it's too bad they couldn't make them compatible.

I dont know which towers are sprints or others. But I remember when wimax came out there was barley any around here. Maybe 1 or 2 little spots but that was it. Could it be possible they don't have the spectrum here? I thought albany being a major area and a lot of sprint/boost/virgin mobile users they would upgrade towers faster out here.

Sprint equipment, especially with b41 up on the same rack is pretty obvious when you see it. I don't know if Albany is in a different license area than Syracuse but I highly doubt its related to spectrum availability. Some markets will just be later, unfortunately.

  19. Does anyone know when albany is going to get spark? I seen b25 once for maybe 3 minutes sometime back in December around 5 in the morning. I'm trying to find reasons to stay with sprint because they have good prices and unlimited data. No phone and data at the same time is tough but I'm hoping having faster, more consistnace speeds will change my mind

I don't recall seeing any information about b41 deployment in Albany. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5183-how-to-spot-sprint-8t8r-td-lte-rrhs-alcatel-lucent/ is a good thread with pictures of the equipment though. Do you see any up on the racks? It's pretty obvious next to the NV panels, Syracuse had equipment installed for a bit before any of it was available to use.

  20. Because where I live, once Sprint optimizes band 26 on that tower I live 6 miles from, I want LTE to be priority over CDMA. I can take the LG tablet with LTE only mode and hit band 26 in my yard from a tower that's ten miles away right now, but it's fringe. The galaxy tab in the same spot parks on roaming Verizon 3g. So that's why I want LTE only mode

    Sent from my LGLS990

It's likely the radio performance of one device is better than the other. LTE already is a priority over CDMA, putting that tab4 in LTE only mode is probably going to result in no service at all if all you are getting is roaming on it.
