  1. I believe Google Voice now supports MMS. You should kook into it, but I'm pretty sure I've been able to send and receive MMS from the Google Voice app.
I forgot about MMS problems. I disabled full integration about six months ago and I was able to send MMS but they would be received through the default sms app. It wasn't too bad when Hangouts handled sms with integrated threads but when that was taken away it was pretty annoying.

  2. "own calling features" ???

HD voice, wifi calling and calling plus. None of those work if you have Google voice with Sprint integration enabled. Sure you could sort of get the same functionality using Hangouts calling, but it's not the same quality and not as easy to use compared to baked in features.

  3. Glad to hear something recent. Is yours a "Sprint" model (yes I realize they're technically all the same) or a Google Play model? There shouldn't be a difference, but I'm doing what I can to narrow it down.

Yes. It was purchased from Best Buy with a Sprint Sim preinstalled in the box.

  4. I use speaker phone all the time. I haven't heard anyone mention poor audio quality on their end except when I'm in a bad coverage area.

I got a software update notice yesterday to ZV9. It's still Android 7.0 but security patch date November 6th. The message only mentioned security updates but I noticed my signal bar is back to individual bars instead of a wedge. The update was around 500MB, I don't notice any other changes besides the security patch date and signal bar change.

    Same thing with Cox

The only TV provider I know of that lets you stream 100% of your live channels (including locals) and DVR content in home or away from home is Dish and it only works if you have the Hopper 2 or Hopper 3. It works very well, I wish other providers would provide the same functionality.

  6. So i got the email notification LG repaired my phone and is shipping it back to me. The only thing mentioned was flash memory in the repair comments which makes sense since the phone would still change if powered off. It was just a software glitch preventing it from charging. I was a little disappointed the factory reset wouldn't have done the same thing, I miss the flexibility of being able to easily flash the software on my Nexus 5. From what I could tell many others have had this same problem, hopefully it was a permanent fix.

  7. Calling plus seemed to connect to WiFi later the next day but now I have been getting messages saying moisture detected in the USB port and it blocked charging. Wireless charging worked, also I could turn the phone off, plug it in and restart and it would charge fine until unplugged and plugged back in. I tried factory data reset and it didn't work. LG support had me send the phone for repair today. I've never had the phone near water, it's disappointing to have issues like this but hopefully they will get it fixed.

  8. So, it's been a while since I tried wifi calling and this is my first attempt on my G6. Last night it seemed to work fine, and all day today calling plus was enabled and working. After I've been home for a couple of hours I keep getting a notification saying wifi calling can't connect to the network tap here to try again. Any ideas how to get it working again? I tried turning it off and them back on and redoing the 911 address registration. My WiFi signal is strong and working fine, and it's Sprint's wifi connect router if that makes any difference.

  9. It is built into Android Messages. There used to be an option to enable it, but that is no longer there. You may get a message that enhanced services have been enabled at some point.

EDIT:  A quick Google search found this for the V20: "Out of the box, the RCS capability, or "Enhanced Features" need to be enabled in settings. In the very near future, this option will be on by default and wont be visible."
Wasn't clear if that only applied to the V20 or all LG devices though.
Ahh, ok. Thanks. I remember seeing the setting briefly when I got my Bolt and that enhanced serviced enabled message but never looked into using it at all when I got the g6

  10. So I decided to give it a try and disabled Google voice. A call was able to hand off from wifi to LTE and stayed connected well enough. Being able to use data while on the call was nice, speed tests and random app usage didn't seem to have any effect in call quality during my test call.

I forgot that hangouts won't do SMS anymore, so looked into trying Android messages. I thought I call rcs support for enhanced messaging being rolled out, but I don't see any options in the app to enable them. Does it work on the G6?

  11. I didn't run into that, but that's because Sprint removed the option to use Google Voice when I updated to the Unlimited Freedom plan. They have been slowly pushing Google Voice out the door the last couple years unfortunately.
I may just bite the bullet and turn it off. I've enjoyed it for a long time now, but it does seem like it's being killed off and every new calling feature hasn't been compatible hd calling, wifi calling and now calling plus.

  12. It seems like a lot if not most of the 3G only sites that have been sitting are being converted to LTE around Syracuse and the surrounding area. It's still kind of like swiss cheese coverage which I have a feeling won't be fixed without more sites but it's good to see progress on that along with b26 being fired up. I have to admit I was contemplating looking at another provider after seeing no progress for so long in this area but I'm not so sure I want to look elsewhere now. I just hope with the proposed merger progress isn't completely halted.

You have to sign up over the phone or on their website. And you can only use a phone you buy from their website.  There is no bring your own device policy yet. So you would have to buy a phone from them either out right or finance it. And you can only get insurance when you purchased the phone you cannot add it later.

Do you know if you can have Apple Care on the iPhone's or do you have to have their own insurance? My sister currently has a iPhone 7 on lease and my dad has a LG G6 on installment billing so I would need to figure that part out but she only uses Apple Care. How was the porting process? They live in CA and I live in NY so doing anything with changing our family plan always seems way harder than it should be.

  14. Are there stores you can sign up in? My dad and sister still live in a Comcast area and have their internet and cable tv already and I was going to mention this to them. They are currently on my Framily plan but Sprint service isn't great in their town and this seems pretty cheap. My dad never uses any data, so his line would basically be free or am I missing something?

  15. They should really consider renaming "Net Neutrality" to something more marketable "internet freedom act" or something to that effect.

The word "freedom" is used so loosely in politics (almost to the point of an inverse meaning) this one would actually be fitting and have weight behind it.

Maybe add a bald eagle emblem holding Ethernet and coax cables in it's talons to drive it home.

  16. [emoji42] [emoji42] [emoji42] at any rate, whatever it is, I'm quite happy with the device, it's the fastest phone I have had on Sprint to date.

On the bright side, just think how much faster it will be once those other network features are also deployed if you're already pulling 200Mbps now.

  17. At least 4×4, there's just no other scenario I can think of that would give me these speeds. I suspect the U 11 came with it already enabled out of the box, but I can't say for sure.

It's probably just 3x CA. Those speeds were being shown off when it was initially being rolled out.

I won't even go into the personal nightmare story I've had with ZTE here, other to say I'd rather hang out with John Legere at the T-Mobile USA corporate offices than ever have to deal with ZTE in person. My issues with T-Mobile are miniscule compared to my disdain for ZTE.

Hopefully Guenther got his business with ZTE done fast and quickly moved onto better business for Sprint.

My personal experience with ZTE was pretty good. I have a LivePro that had some weird issues which they replaced under warranty rather quickly. It was maybe 5 or 6 days from when I called for warranty support to when I received the device back. The only snafu I ran into at all was the replacement devices meid wasn't in Sprint's database and I had to wait another two days to get it activated. I would definitely try another one of their devices.
