  1. There is a supplemental map mentioned in the filing, which would be really helpful to know where exactly they are drawing the boundaries, but unfortunately I can't find it on the FCC'S site.
  2. On the strip for the weekend and so far it hasn't been too bad. I'm almost always on LTE in and around TI but it is often over burdened. Still faring better than T-Mobile in most parts. Got this this morning in the Venetian grand canal shops.
  3. Good info. Too bad they don't mention their progress on deploying 800Mhz 1x and how far in advance that will come before LTE. I'd love to have LTE at all times indoors, but I'd settle to first have a good calling experience.
  4. I'm going to try to ask him if he knows the completion date, but I get the impression that he doesn't know many details. He just started.
  5. Found out that a friend is working on re-tuning radios for an LA bus agency (presumably Metro) that involves frequencies in the 800Mhz spectrum. Wasn't able to get many details from him, but I'm assuming this is connected with the rebanding effort. Encouraging to see that action is taking place.
  6. So is that strictly SMS or is it SMS/MMS? I have several family members who would be really happy if it is also MMS...
  7. Sorry, when you say "retain the ability to have HD Voice while WiFi calling is activated on your line", do you mean that the phone can do HD Voice while on cellular and WiFi Calling is activated (but WiFi calls are still non-HD) or does that mean that both cellular and WiFi calls are HD?
  8. What would be the purpose of that? Are they trying to separate all of the network assets from the core business so that it's easier to restructure?
  9. I wish I could say that Angelinos could possibly have this kind of respect for their fellow riders, but that is sadly not the case. Tons of people have no problem making loud calls on the light-rail trains that run above ground (and thus have cell service). The only thing that stops them is when those trains occasionally have to go through an underground tunnel. Maybe that attitude will change since underground cell service is a comparatively precious commodity, but I'm skeptical.
  10. The (mostly) peace and quiet I enjoy on the subway will soon be coming to an end...
  11. Anyone have insight into what the expected completion date is for the San Bernardino transition? I think the FCC set the original deadline to be February of this year, but it's unclear how the extension that was granted last year affected it.
  12. I've been seeing much improved B25 performance in Brea. I'm assuming that it is due to multiple B25 carriers, but I'm getting LTE in places that I haven't seen it for years. Initially I thought that maybe it was due to more people being out on vacation in the business park, so I held off on judging the performance, but it's been over a week and B25 is still going strong.
  13. Data is definitely getting better, but call quality is still a little so so in the north. Really hoping they start converting Clearwire towers to full builds soon. That would be a tremendous help.
  14. Are you referring to the documents that bigmachine referenced or is it something else? I haven't seen anything from the FCC about any sort of frustration in regards to SBC. At least nothing like their letter to APS in Arizona about their inability to adequately justify the extra cost for a "public safety system on steroids."
  15. I went and checked around the area that I've been having issues in Brea and the Clearwire tower that is about half a mile from the Sprint tower is not broadcasting anymore. I drove to the marker on the map in the Sponsors section and never got any B41. That would explain why there is increased traffic on the Sprint tower, but not why B41 is now impossible to receive from said tower unless you are directly across the street from it (when this didn't use to be the case)... which I can only guess that either the broadcast power was turned down or the band prioritization that JosefTor mentioned is causing the issue. Also, I rode Metrolink from ARTIC to Union Station and had either Clearwire or Sprint B41 for nearly the entire duration of the trip
  16. Probably a little of both. Investors love to hear fancy words that they don't understand like "the cloud" or "big data" That would be impressive if it was real-time, but it's probably easier to work with the data in batches than trying to recognize patterns as they are occurring.
  17. It is an 8t8r site, but the nearest neighbor is a Clearwire tower. I haven't connected very often to the Clearwire tower since my Wimax days since I'm too far indoors. If the Clearwire tower was fully built out, I would probably get pretty solid B25 coverage indoors, but I can't imagine when that would be happening.
  18. I don't know about Brea... there is one tower in particular that I am usually connected to during the day and I used to get a decent band 41 signal indoors, but now it's completely gone. I can only get unusable 3G now. Similar problem on my home tower. I used to be connected consistently to band 25, but now it bounces back and forth to 3G and rarely stays on band 25 for very long.
  19. Any recommendations on the best method to report the quality problems? I'd like to use the sprint zone app, but it's not an option for me since I have a nexus. I have called customer care in the past, but they don't do anything beyond telling me to reboot my phone or update PRL...
  20. Anyone else having problems with LTE for the past week? Seems like I can't connect unless I'm practically line of sight to the towers. Strangely enough, I'm connected to EVDO right now, not eHRPD.
  21. From the FCC document: I'm interpreting this to mean that at the time of writing (May), they hadn't started purchasing/retuning any equipment yet. I'm doubtful that 3 months is enough time to purchase, deploy, and tune all the equipment.
  22. I'm in Ohio for the next couple weeks and the network here is an absolute DREAM. Every phone call is perfect and I only lose band 26 when I'm deep inside large buildings. Can't wait until OC catches up.
  23. According to the 800 TA site, there was an implementation planning session for Southern California held on April 21st. I was hoping they would post something after the conclusion of the meeting to give us some additional clues, but I can't find anything.
