  1. Anyone had any issues with your N5 restarting randomly? Mine just started doing this today. It would sometimes display the option menu that pops up when you hold the power button just before it would randomly restart. The last time it restarted it started bootlooping and I thought the phone was done for... Only thing new that was installed recently was the Scorecenter app since college football is starting up again. Any ideas? Rooted Franco Kernel ART
  2. Yes to both of those!!!! I may finally be able to connect to the outside world when I visit my parents. And get some good chicken...
  3. Great suggestions! My time is little more strained now that I have begun some research projects but I've been planning on adding in some more theme customizations and I think this could be a great feature to add. I know first hand those when those logs start piling up it gets tough to sort through all of them.
  4. Yep the GCI's are reported correctly. If you set up the Custom Band option in LTE Discovery to identify sites with the first three digits of the GCI (area code) that have "043" and a TAC of 17282 as B41 then the app will identify all B41 sites in your area that meet that criteria as B41. I posted about this not too long ago in the GS5 thread. The app will even go back and fix all the old log entries that have been incorrectly labeled as Band 25 sites. Note: You will have to continually add to the Custom Band list the app maintains as you travel around but it is a temporary solution until the GS5 receives an update that allows us to fix whatever the PLMN ID issues may be.

Sorry just saw this post... No LTE Disocvery shouldn't cause your screen to turn on for any reason. When out of the application or the screen is off all the foreground task turn off without the exception of those ran in the background anyways.
  6. Isn't it rumored that the next batch of flagship Android devices will support carrier aggregation? You may be waiting for the wrong device... This time next year it's very possible you will be saying "I will finally be looking for some CA" lol.
  7. Have a new version of LTE Discovery rolling out for all users today. Among other things, this version contains a pretty hefty performance update so that should help alleviate any performance issues you may be having. Thanks to all the beta developers for helping me fine tune this one!
  8. Clear setup. I'm just impressed with how quickly its seemed to progress over there. Three weeks ago there was only 3G. Two weeks ago some B25 popped up and now we are rocking some B41. It's looking good.
  9. When you do let me know... I wanna get LTE Discovery to recognize 8t8r sites on connection. Need a site to test on!

  11. Really hard to say with B41 towers (some report great coverage), but I don't usually expect much in regards to coverage. For almost the entire summer, I was eye level with a direct line of site to a B41 tower only a quarter mile away and would have a signal of -80dBm. If I went downstairs behind the apartment and lost LOS with the tower it would drop to -105dBm. Inside of a building about a half mile away from the tower I couldn't get any B41. It is really going to depend on the downtilt of the tower and the obstructions between you and the tower.
  12. That's actually a great plan... It's great to see the individual line cost starting to go down.
  13. He figures the cost may be prohibitive to manufactures, which is valid concern.
  14. Looks like a good Nexus 6 leak... http://www.amongtech.com/upcoming-nexus-phablet-specs-revealed-by-benchmark/

Similar situation here... There are more WiFi networks in the 2.4ghz range here than I can count, but I have free reign of the 5ghz channels.

Download a WiFi Analyzer app and check for interference. You probably ran a different WiFi channel prior to the switch and didn't have any interference then. Doesn't matter how fast the connection or powerful the router if the whole neighborhood is parked on channel 6 lol. With any luck this could be a quick fix for you.
  17. I'd recommend removing the cell and sector fields (make sure they are blank) so this will work across all Band 41 sites in the area that use "04B" to designate B41 sites. Right now this will only detect Band 41 on one sector of the site you logged.

Great to know. I've been using the old pro app, which is way behind updates, for awhile now. Moved over to the regular app and have no ads.
  19. Could the posting guidelines be updated to reflect what is certainly permitted regarding other carriers? I know sometimes the rules have changed frequently brought on by discussions in various threads, where the change is also announced, and it is hard to stay up to date on what is acceptable without monitoring every thread for issues that have arose. I know at some point it was became against the rules to post speedtests from other carriers, and if I can remember correctly at some point it was also against the rules to discuss other carriers at one point in time. Would just be nice to have a singular place to refer to for future reference. I don't want to find out I posted something unacceptable after the fact. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1197-s4gru-posting-guidelines-aka-the-rulez/
  20. Had a surprisingly good B41 experience this morning. I've had consistent B41 with great handoffs all along the 408 and down I-4. Haven't dropped down to B25 or B26 at all. I've logged over ten B41 sites already. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
