  1. I never once connected to B41 (Clear or 8T8R) on the .15 radio in Kansas City. I think it was decided that you could only connect when there was no B26 or B25 available. Which is pretty much never going to happen now when in range of B41.

B41 is rolled out almost everyone down here. Never had any problem whatsoever connecting to any clear sites. Not that it should be any surprise but my device actually strongly preferred B41 over B26 or B25 on the .15 radio. There's a post somewhere in the Orlando thread I posted where I connected to nothing but B41 sites from UCF all the way through downtown Orlando.

Would still be on it if it connected to my local 8t8r site.

  2. I agree with asomers. I get better performance on the .15 radio.

On the Lollipop radio I was getting -105 dBm on band 25 in my home with 4 megabit speed tests, with frequent drops to 3G, whereas the .15 radio gets -95 dBm in the same location and speed tests are roughly double.

I don't know about band 41 on the .15 radio, because it's not deployed here, but I have no trouble picking up band 26 on .15

I completely agree with you guys, I've always had much better performance on .15 regardless of whether the readings are inflated or not. Numbers on the screen are always second to actual performance.

However one thing I did notice recently, and it may have just been complete coincidence, was that my N5 would not connect to 8t8r sites on the .15 radio. Although Clearwire B41 works flawlessly. Just something to keep in mind.

  3. I just had a 14 hr session where sot was 1hr 5 mins before the battery got down to 6%.

    Boggles the mind

Had an 8 hour session with 45 minutes of SOT yesterday... Makes me really miss the Evo LTE battery life.

    LG G3

So did you take the plunge? I really love my G3. The RF is really good and sound quality is excellent. The only gripe (hopefully fixed in the forthcoming update) is the convoluted headphone jack.

Nah unfortunately I missed the deal. Going to keep an eye out for another one though. Live my Nexus but the SOT of < two hours has been killing me

    Spence,

If you're asking if paying $250 is a good deal then no it isn't. It's a great deal and snatch it up.

That's what I was hoping to hear lol. Was on the fence about parting with my money and just needed someone to push me over the edge lol. Thanks!

    LG G3

No issues reporting GCI or PCI from what I've seen.

The battery life is decent, but nothing amazing, especially when compared to my I6+. You'll need an extra battery for heavy use or a charger.

Think it would be a good buy around $250 for one that should be in great condition (haven't seen it myself)?

    LG G3

Was thinking about picking up a G3 and was curious if it has any issues reporting GCI or PCI?  Also what do you guys think of the battery life?

  4. Wouldn't that just lead to band 26 becoming overburdened?

Sent from my Sprint LG G3

I would estimate that the percentage of people who would want to lock their phone to a particular band (assuming it is sufficiently technical) would still be significantly less than the number of people on B25-only devices at the moment. So at least in the short term it probably would not contribute to B26 becoming overburdened in the slightest.

Besides that the vast majority of people don't even know what an LTE band, even less know which band they may or may not want to lock onto. This forum doesn't make for a very good representation of the general population after all lol.

I would only want to lock onto B26 in very poor signal strength areas where you would expect the phone to do that anyways (instead of eating battery even more by jumping around).

  5. Yeah she will get your app more hits for sure.

I got like 90 seconds of air time. Spilt my water all across my table when it popped up... Just checked and downloads look completely normal for the last four days but your right someone will see it and download the app, especially if she keeps using it.

Maybe I will be able to afford my tuition without loans soon if I am lucky lol. God knows I'd like to stop eating ramen lol.

  6. Hey Spence how about a true black background for us oled screen users. Might help us save some batt juice when we have lte discovery running for prolonged periods of time.

I just finished bugging mikejeep about this with good results ;)

Yeah I don't think we would have any problems throwing down true black behind the card styling we have going on. I'll see about adding a setting option for that.

  7. How is sprint B41 identification coming along? Is it pretty accurate?

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

If the phone in question reports GCI and PLMN then B41 identification should be spot on. We actually even made some headway into pulling GCI from devices where the Android system insists that the GCI is always null. Cough cough Samsung...

  8. New version of LTE Discovery released! v3.11.2

Wow, it's been about two months since Spence and I last released to LTE Discovery to 100% of the public. In that time we have still been making lots of improvements, so the recent updates prompt is going to be long for those of you that still have v3.8.1.

Here's some of the highlight changes from v3.8.1 (which 80% of users have):

    - More accuracy for many devices

    - Brand new alerts system (beta setting, with even more coming soon)

    - Ability to start on boot (Pro)

    - Added reset connection button to the "Live Mode" notification when not on LTE (Pro)

    - Lots of performance enhancements, especially for users with many logs

    - Greater compatibility for 2767 more devices

    - And more :)

     - Danial Goodwin -

One of the developers for LTE Discovery

Lots more... I think we packed so many small features and improvements into this one that we lost track of some of them!

  9. Getting force close trying to export logs, sent the force close report!

    Also put in beta request!

Thanks I'll add you in a little bit! Can you do me a favor and send a debug email with a small note in it as well? Those give a lot more contextual info.
