  1. Well, cruise east on Airport Rd until it turns into Century....then turn north (left) on High St. If you hit Hawkridge Park, you've gone too far
  2. Whoops, you aren't a sponsor....you should become one and then see the maps and join the fun!!!
  3. From purple to yellow to green is how I've seen most of the sites going on those maps. Yes, all sites in Madison will eventually be GREEN, meaning they are 3G/4G/800. That's a complete NV build of a tower and all our sites will get the NV updating.
  4. No, that wouldn't be your tower. You are a S4GRU member, head over to the maps for your closest tower. The one I'm referring to is accepted for 4G, but until we map it, there's no way to know if its broadcasting. Airport Rd. and the Beltline is pretty generic, its really a little northeast of there. But at Airport and the Beltline, you'd probably get some signal.
  5. My wife is right there as well, in Research Park. I keep asking her to tell me if her phone sees 4G symbol ever, but she doesn't like to play our little obsession of LTE game.....glad someone else will be able to notify us of a LTE signal when that Tokay tower goes live.
  6. MIDDLETON TOWER IS UP! LTE, LTE, LTE! Someone map that SOB! Near Airport Rd and the beltline. I would be out there tonight, alas I am not going to be able to make my softball game tonight.
  7. So the Sprint tower is right on top of the Towers Apartments about 1/2 of a block from Campus Barber shop (above Urban Outfitters). I get my hairs cut there about every 5 weeks and was in there just last week. I had 300kbps up and 100kbps down. It really was remarkable speed for that area compared to what I usually see. I think that the antenna hang off the side, but they aren't real visible to what updates were done yet and they're not on that permits list. Downtown Madison needs a few more towers for my liking.....800MHz or not, it's a little sparse down here. They could definitely use one or two more over by Camp Randall. Real dead zone on my way home down Monroe. I don't think that 800MHz is going to save that either since its a little valley there. Edgewood HS has antenna all over their roof, but none that belong to Sprint. You're out in Middleton, right? Did you have any luck finding permit reports in Middleton? There are only a few towers there, and their city website is not helpful. The tower on Everglade is at least on the west side!
  8. Also, I should say that I have had no updates from Verona or from Fitchburg on permits. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  9. Well, my tower (Seminole Hwy and McKee in Fitchburg) had two trucks at it's base on Friday morning. The base is pretty occluded by brick walls and a power station....and then a new building that the power station built to further block my snooping. By Friday afternoon the utilities must have labeled all the buried cable around that area from the bike path north of McKee to just adjacent to the tower. However, there were flags heading directly to the tower that were already marked for "Fiber Optic Cable".....so my question is more, if there is already Fiber leading to the tower, do they need to add more Fiber? or is this different Fiber that's needed? This obviously could be totally unrelated as there are a lot of utilities through that area...but I like to dream. Something has to start on this tower!!!! gah! Someone asked earlier about Madison Towers and these are the ones that have approved permits from the City of Madison. I've visited several of these towers and I can't say that they've really had any work done on them. The Tokay one looks like new antennas, but nothing has happened since, can't get real close to that base (at the News station tower). Permit reports from the City of Madison, none of these towers are spitting LTE at this time. April Permits: 120 S BALDWIN ST 701 RUSKIN ST 5727 TOKAY BLVD May Permits: 1752 W BELTLINE HWY 123 N BLOUNT ST 2810 CROSSROADS DR 602 EVERGLADE DR 110 S HENRY ST 1932 UNIVERSITY AVE No June Permits filed.
  10. Well, there isn't anything accepted in Madison as of yet. The tower at 30 and 51 looks like it has some new antennas on it for sure. Wasn't able to stop and check the base. That might be next to go live? That's in Madison proper. Drove up past Beaver Dam today and Beaver Dam has 800 voice kicking and solid LTE. 33 up, 12 down! Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  11. It's the second Sun Prairie tower by the Skate Park out there. It went up on Thursday, I think.
  12. Madison proper now has 9 towers with approved permits. It's coming. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  13. Well, all the towers I've been snooping around show no improvements unfortunately. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  14. Ha. Sauk City, Mount Horeb and Wisconsin Dells just got their LTE fix as well, Dells is reporting 2 towers with 3G/4G. The ring around Madison is now almost complete! Come on Sprint! Upgrade our towers. The ones by me have NO movement on them (Fitchburg, south Madison).
  15. The speeds in San Francisco are widely variable. You can see that my LTE signal is -108 and I am indoors. However, data is actual usable, which differs from Sprint's 3G. I have done outdoor tests and it's not really any better. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  16. I'm out in San Francisco now and there's LTE everywhere! But the speeds are not great. Hoping to see Wisconsin improvements when I return! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  17. I had to drive to Hartland, WI last night and back, I see that another tower just was accepted right near Lake Mills....I had LTE strongly for quite a bit of 94 as I was driving in that area and I wondered if there were more than just the one by the dirt bike tracks. Also, there's a tower with an address in Watertown, nearer the Ixonia exit on the south side of 94 that has new cabinets (outside the fence) and a whole lot of wires coming out of the antennas consistent with NV updates at other sites. The site is pretty shrouded in trees until you get right on it. I spotted them on the way there and double checked on the way back. Kind of hard to get a picture going the exact speed limit of 65MPH and not like 10 over or anything So it does appear to me that the crews are working their way towards Milwaukee....ever so slowly. On another side note, I can confirm the blip of LTE on John Nolen, right by Sardine restaurant. I wasn't able to grab a tower ID in time though, its a real short window....signal was in the -128dBm range, so I'm not sure which tower is giving us the love. The tower down Washington that had an approved permit in April is NOT broadcasting and to me didn't look like it had any NV improvements yet.
  18. I would say that the tower at Tokay (in Madison) has had its 3G update. Consistently getting 2mbps down and 500 kbps up. No LTE yet though, I'd bet soon though as the RRUs are up. Picture of that coming soon. EDIT: I wasn't able to get a picture that one can see anything in. I only had my phone for a camera and I wasn't able to get close enough, the digital zoomed pictures look terrible. I'll try again when I have my other point and shoot with 10x optical zoom. I would say though that, in theory, we should be seeing this site in the accepted category very soon as I believe I saw the updated cabinet there too, hard to get close enough to see it all. 19. Seems like everyone got that in several different markets. The Missouri thread is full of those as well. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  20. That is the same tower that Mr. Phoneguy, Mangurt and I were all connected to in the area near Super Walmart on Southtown exit. However, I do not think that is the same tower as the McFarland one. That McFarland Tower is really, really far away. It isn't the Oregon tower as I had a different ID from that one. It must be a new tower. However, the accepted sites were updated on the Sponsor side and Milwaukee Market in our area didn't get any new sites accepted as of yesterday. I have to think that some more will start to fall soon. I'm going to check out the tower off Todd Dr. and the Beltline on my way home today, I also might try to find a reason to swing by the Tokay tower and others early tomorrow. This has become my new obsession since I stopped flashing so many different ROMs on my SGS3.
  21. Same here in Pewaukee, now EVDO. Back to eHRPD this am. City wide. sent from tapa-tapa-tapatalk12
  22. So, I heard back from Verona. The building inspector had to call a bunch of different people, but eventually found out that 1) no permit had yet been approved, however 2) Sprint is in talks with the city to get that approved for the existing tower 3) and also approval for a new (second) tower in the more western part of Verona Area due to population increases I have not yet heard back from Fitchburg.
  23. Well, next time you're in the LTE area, go to ##debug# on the dialer Then 777468 for the code (that's SPRINT) Then LTE engineering, then take a screen shot. The tower scid will tell us more. You may already have that screen shot, sorry if you know about all that already. We're probably connected to the same tower and I don't think it's the McFarland or Oregon one. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  24. Did you grab a shot of the LTE Engineering Screen? I'm curious as to the ID of this tower. There's one behind Super Walmart a bit, one by Gates Auto body at Rimrock and one by Culver's on Todd Dr. that you would have passed by....then the one on Tokay would have been in shot of the beltline, and we know that one already has a permit pulled. I haven't checked out the tower at Gates, but that could be what's giving us the LTE love in that area? Hard to say.
  25. Can you be more specific on your area? I don't find an Arbor Hills Park in my area. If you're talking about Arbor Hills Neighborhood.... I'm not sure why you'd get it there. The tower by Culvers on Todd drive didn't appear to have any work done on it last I snooped. Maybe they did it yesterday though? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
