  1. Ha ha. I'm ecstatic that it's done! If this gives even the slightest signal to McKee Farms Park, I'll be real happy. I went by there 2 weeks ago and nothing was done on it. They're flying now. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  2. Alright, you win. Irish Lane tower has NV equipment on it in Fitchburg. Not broadcasting (that I can get)
  3. Where in Fitchburg? Irish Ln tower? The Fitchburg tower by me (seminole and PD) has ropes only on the tower that were put up last Thursday and no new equipment as of this AM. I was by the Irish Ln tower a couple weeks ago and there was nothing there. If you have detailed information, just give us a little nugget. Or do it over on the Sponsor side. Somethin' man!
  4. Lunching down on State Street and I came to the realization that I mislabeled Sprint NV work from before (they were actually T-mobile panels). Now, for certain, the Sprint tower on the apt building near the bottom of State Street has NV panels on them. It's already marked as in progress on the Sponsor map, so no need for that clarification. Only had my GS4 with me (zoomed in 4x) and it was fighting a lot of shadows. Therefore the picture sucks, but clearly NV and RRUs present, using the short/fat antenna setup. Man, something has to give soon. This is sure exciting to think the whole city could light up at one time!
  5. If that's the way you get down (with Apple products coming from Apple products), then it's a solid choice. You're right in that the important part is the 800LTE, after that, 2600 won't matter much. Especially in the upcoming year. Perhaps in several years when LTE advanced in launched? Unless someone wants to correct that. And luckily the NSA will already have your fingerprint! So you won't need to go to a NSA fingerprint station in your city......just kidding, the 5S appears to be a great piece of tech. I'm an Android man myself, looking at my list of devices, but I do think they make great hardware. Just tiny screens. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  6. Was getting blips of 1x800 visiting Waunakee yesterday. They have no towers anywhere near them currently and none that are known to be broadcasting 1x800....so hopefully this is a sign of good things to come soon with 800SMR rollout in the Madison area.
  7. Verona tower. NV equipment. Not accepted, not broadcasting Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  8. I could not get a picture, because my wife doesn't care as much as I do, but Verona, WI has NV panels up on the water tower. Fact. We're close, boys. Edit: Whoa, New Glarus Oktoberfest doing my typing....anyways the Verona tower has RRUs. I'll get picture tomorrow. New Glarus tower no upgrades yet. :-) Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  9. Well are you using a S3 as that Speedtest indicates? Or iPhone 5S? Only iPhone 5S would get 800LTE, otherwise you're getting 1900LTE and decent penetration. Not sure there's evidence of 800LTE broadcasting yet? 1x800 is voice only and very weak data. So you wouldn't get those speeds without LTE signal. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  10. Yeah 43 is N/S? What's up? Did you mean 94? Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  11. GB Bridge story for those who don't know: http://goo.gl/c9htYW
  12. You can always email Dan@sprint.com and someone from Dan Hesse's office will call you back. They mainly spew corporate tag lines and the like, however I have had several phone calls with a woman there and she tries to do her best. They've even taken my concerns, checked with others/techs/divisions and called me back to follow up with what they've learned.
  13. Ropes on my tower today when I came home from work! No workers that I could see still around, no new equipment up yet. Again the base of this tower is very difficult to see into. Fitchburg tower at Seminole Hwy and PD. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  14. Source? (not trying to be a jerk, but we've heard that Oct date thrown around here before....I hope you have inside information and it sounds like you might? Care to prove that to us with evidence? ) Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  15. Right, that's why I said perhaps the tower at 51/30 as a possibility. I'm less familiar with the topology over there between Lien Rd and that tower location. I do believe that the Park Bank tower would/should serve that area as its higher in elevation and closer by the crow.
  16. I think that the tower at 30/51 would serve that area where the Sprint store is (or the one across the highway on the Park Bank building). I know that there is equipment on that tower at 30/51, perhaps that is being tested as well, just like this one downtown by Camp Randall appears to be. who knows, although its exciting that something might happen soon-ish here finally? not sure what's up with the Tokay tower.
  17. Back to herpa derpa at Camp Randall. Wicked fast 3G (for Sprint) speeds. Still no LTE poppin that I can detect after airplane mode toggling. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  18. This is my tower by work. No LTE today. Got 2mbps down on eHRPD (amazing), then it switched to EV-DO Rev A about noon. I'm amazed you got LTE off it! How exciting! It's happening! Fear not, I'll map it the second I get signal. Edit: my home tower was eHRPD, so the EV-DO rev A was localized to that tower only near Camp. That was a strong enough LTE signal at 100. What side exactly were you on? Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  19. In town at my Parents in Norco/Florissant, mapped some new spots on Sensorly for you guys. Their closest tower is not accepted yet or broadcasting (from sponsor maps), so this is encouraging they have LTE this far north. This was inside the house too. Not bad. Sorry if this is not helpful, don't follow this thread religiously like I do the Wisconsin maps. Might be the tower at Cross Keys? Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  20. He's referring to the 800SMR broadcast. Not LTE. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  21. Even more frustrating is that there is NV equipment in sight on several locations but no LTE (no backhaul or something lagging, presumably). The site tech that I spoke to did allude to the "cluster" theory of towers going online, at least for the Madison area. Or they're just focusing on backhaul as the ground is about to get real frozen around here shortly...... Eitherway, its coming and we've never been closer than we are now, tomorrow will be even closer, and so on and so forth. Near Camp Randall in Madison, I've been getting better signal and better 3G lately (1.2mbps down/ 300k up) after a period of zero signal and very unusable data....so maybe this is a sign. The tower here has NV equipment, so its possible its going to get flipped.
  22. Yes, but no Tri-band 2600 LTE like the Android handsets later this year: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-352-teaser-iphone-gets-two-new-models-but-no-lte-band-trifecta-on-sprint/ granted Tri-band won't help a ton as not much of it is deployed yet and won't be utilized really unless you're in dense urban areas..... The bonus on the 5s though is the NSA will have your fingerprint along with all your emails, texts and phone logs! ha, I kid, I kid. I keep having this feeling like Madison is set to pop on these towers in progress. The Tokay Tower is a real puzzler. After talking with the techs there when they were installing the Antennas, Fiber, etc. (on July 25th), they said the fiber was run to the site already (backhaul), they were finishing up the placement of panels and inspection would happen the following week....potentially turned on Aug 1. They showed me all the pieces and walked me through the work, very nice guys. Well, that's obviously come and gone, the equipment is all on the tower, new cabinets, fiber, etc, but it still isn't accepted or broadcasting. I wish I could tell if data/messaging were getting worse around here indicating something happening, but its always terrible, so that's hard to measure. Sounds like Milwaukee is in the same boat with their towers in progress? If you guys get pictures of NV equipment on a non-accepted/broadcasting tower, make sure to put them in the sponsor section with the tower ID in the thread for "Sites in Progress" so Rickie can add them to the map.
  23. Fellas, the Old University tower (near Camp Randall) has antennas. Sprint (via Twitter, so whatever that's worth) says that tower will be active in a couple weeks. Regent/West Washington antennas are being worked on.... I also believe the state Street setup is close. Soon, so very soon it will be usable. It has been a pitiful mess in Madison for Sprint. We're almost there. (unfortunately, I don't see any work in the burbs near me. Fitchburg's 3 or 4 towers and Verona's have nothing) Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
  24. It. is. coming. It's so close to being glorious. When complete, Sprint's network will be awesome. Most of us have waiting it out for years upon years. Are we suckers? perhaps, but the reward will be coming soon. There are a lot of sites now in the Madison area that have antennas up but aren't on yet. Just a few of those go live and we'd be covered in purple quickly. Milwaukee is much the same. There is work going on, we just don't always see it. Don't lose faith now!!! Honestly, if they can get LTE to more areas in Madison for Badger game days and then more coverage around the mall so I could do Christmas shopping and not hang around the apple store if I need to look something up, my god, my god, I'll be very happy. However, then we're all going to need something else to bitch about.....
