  1. I checked out 4 towers this AM in Madison -> 2 for 4 on action. One downtown on the near west of the Capitol does not appear to have any work, however, it does have the room for the NV panels now. The other that is a bust was the one nearest east of the Capitol just off East Wash. It's a small apartment building that appears to only have legacy panels visible. This one is downtown on Baldwin Street in Madison. Second RRU is edge on in this view, they're up there though. The water tower in Monona....... Guys just started Sprint work. So nothing in view, however, I talked with them briefly and they said they were putting up Sprint antennas today. The Fiber is already run into this site they say. Wasn't able to get any pictures of the boxes. Perhaps someone can go back later and take shots? There are a lot of Ericsson boxes on this tower in all locations most likely for VZW setup.
  2. High Point Rd in Madison, WI Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  3. Correct. Technically, none of them around here are finished as they aren't officially accepted by Sprint. :-) however, this one is actively being worked on. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  4. Okay. The way you wrote that earlier, it sounded like you meant Milwaukee proper only. Hopefully they get back here soon! Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  5. This site is near the Fitchburg Super Target on the water tower.....so basically all the towers around me are finished, which I guess is a little FU from Sprint and all my complaining about service. Sorry DAN HESSE! Please upgrade home tree! There was machinery on site, cherry picker, backhoe, and things were substantially torn up, so they are actively working on this site for the rest of the backhaul and cabinets too. I just took shots of the antennas that were going up. There was Toyota Highlander idling nearby and the guy appear to be focused on the site as well. IS that person on here??? I was in the Dodge Durango with a glovebox that can fit 2 turkey sandwiches, or 70 PACKS OF GUM, Say What? 70! (Anchorman 2/Durango spots) As you can see one of the antennas only has one RRU and wires are still dangling. They aren't really pinned up on any of the antennas yet. It's interesting that these 3 NV antennas are pointed away from my tower, which isn't far away. There's nothing on the backside of this water tower.
  6. How's about around Madison? Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  7. Most Customer Care people have no idea at all, I wouldn't take as a bad sign of anything. (no offense to any lurking on these forums, but seriously, there's only so many times I can 1) update my profile, 2) update my PRL or 3) power cycle my device) It is really frustrating though, that's for sure.
  8. That's what happened with the Middleton and Rimrock towers. Weak at first, then slightly stronger. Have you updated your PRL? Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  9. First off, it's easier to get a free Imgur account and post the direct links to pictures in the thread so they appear inline. The mobile app works well too. I'll put instructions in my signature later. Second, your first pic, bottom rack is Sprint. Second pic is a bit more confusing but without getting a clearer shot, I'd say the second to the top rack is Sprint NV, just spaced weird. It would be easier to tell if we could clearly see the wires into those antennas. Eitherway, post up the second pic to the In Progress thread with the site ID in the sponsor section so Rickie can dump a white pin on it! EDIT: took a closer look at your pictures on my computer since you've uploaded them to the site. It is clearly like the second "rack" which is like the third set of antennas down from the top. You can see the 800 and 1900 RRUs attached to the antennas and there also seems to be a lot of wires into those antennas too. Thanks for the speed tests! I see them on Sensorly! 10. So, I use Chrome Beta on my S4 and I have no problems with the panning and pinch to zoom on the map anymore (a few weeks ago that was an issue). I use the Chrome (non beta) on my N7 (2012) and it works fine too. I guess make sure your Chrome is up to date? You can try to use the Firefox, it's always worked there for me. But yes, it is clunkier than on a desktop for sure.
  11. Use Chrome or Firefox on your S3. Both work fine to display the maps. You have to use the web view and not through Tapatalk app. What I also did was to go through and star every tower in our area on my google maps (just double clicking on the tower gets you to that location in google maps outside of S4GRU) so they would show up in my google maps app and I could actually navigate to them since they were saved locations. However, remember to NOT share any of that information with anyone that isn't a Sponsor to this site as per the forum guidelines.
  12. yeah, when I saw the Sensorly for the Eastside, I immediately had my wife disconnect from WiFi and toggle her airplane mode since she works in Research Park. She confirms that nothing is broadcasting from the Tokay tower. I really want to know what's up with that tower as the crew told me, and I asked explicitly, that the backhaul was already in place running to the tower. In fact, the guy showed me the inside of the box where they were connecting the tower fiber to the backhaul fiber as the guy was making connections....in July. I am also not sure if that's the only tower lit up. If you look at the rest of downtown Madison, there seems to be more purple....and darker purple, in the Isthmus, which can only really mean more towers may have lit up unless it's pulling from that tower near Kraft foods.
  13. Well, the equipment they're installing for 1900 LTE will do the 800 LTE as well, so that's just a flip o' the switch on their end. However, the 2600 will require more hardware, I'm not too concerned about it because the 800 will be what puts them on par with everyone else.
  14. Most every tower. Like 99% of them. There's only a few that won't be, but you can rest assured that most ones that you hit will be updated.
  15. Me thinks our Madison 3G accepted tower is actually a 4G accepted tower. No way you get that purple from any of the other towers that are already broadcasting (Middleton or SP)....and that tower is real close to where its darkest. The dawn is always purplest before the light...... Anyone able to map some more around there???
  16. I've been 3G, then 1x, then eHRPD, then back again all day downtown. Still 3G in Fitchburg too. No eHRPD here. (after power cycles, etc.) Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  17. Madison actually has a tower with an actual acceptance! The first time since August. Too bad its a 3G acceptance which essentially means that the equipment is in place but there is no backhaul for LTE (I believe). I was pretty sure that Sprint forgot about us. Good to see all my pictures from the In Progress thread make it up there. It looks a lot better now with more pins in the map.
  18. That is a typical arrangement of a NV setup. It could be that the RRUs are mounted low on the antenna and we wouldn't be able to see them. The best way to tell is to A) see the RRUs or count the wires going into the antenna or C) getting up on that roof! Considering all three are not possible to do, might just have to hope its done. Can someone get to that area with a better camera? perhaps a point and shoot with zoom? I won't be able to get over that way for a while. This is at least encouraging news though. Aarofloyd, since you're a sponsor and can lookup the addresses, could you get to the tower that's south of there off Badger Rd? Perhaps the one in Monona on the water tower? The one at 30/90/94 Badger interchange could use a photo as well, I'm pretty sure that's upgraded though.
  19. UW Madison Hospital? Yup its bad over there. Good news is that yesterday by Camp Randall, my Signalcheck chimed at me many times for LTE and 800SMR but nothing locked for more than 3-4 seconds. Testing?? Hopefully. That area will be a true test of 800 MHz as there aren't many towers surrounding that complex for UW hospital (or any UW building) and there's some topology working against it. We'll see soon, hopefully. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  20. IE8?!? LOL! The new sheet is great. Just add either another tab for glossary, or just add some lines at bottom. You don't have to have a Jony Ive approved sheet. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  21. Well, it just means that the permit is approved. The length of time on when the work must be complete and inspected can vary. Some are within 6 months, some within 2 months, etc. Hard to say. The one closest to your house may have lots of antennas on it from many carriers. What you should look for is.....are the RRUs like these: http://goo.gl/aWWY1s If they're up there, then your tower is closer than not. You should go to your tower and take pictures, which one is yours?
  22. Just double checked the permit reports for Madison, WI for September additions and the rest of the towers are now accounted for, including Hilldale, High Point Rd, Monona area and the aforementioned Badger Interchange, etc. Therefore ALL towers in the Madison area (by my accounts) now have approved permits (many of these have NV equipment on them). http://www.cityofmadison.com/dpced/BI/permitreports/ choose all construction permits, september, 2013....then search the resulting PDF for "sprint" Really wish all communities had these so readily available. most of the others are in August, July, May and April.
  23. Yeah, I drive by that one every day. There has been zero work on that tower. No new cabinets, no new equipment, no backhaul that I can see. There is a fiber line not too far away though, so perhaps it's already run into there. That tower does have some weird boxes of some sort up on the lowest rack. I haven't seen them in any other locations (for any provider) so perhaps they're for the county, police or something along those lines. I believe that when Sprint antennas do go up there, they will go to the middle rack. However, as I have witnessed with other towers, that could all change in like 3 days. The tower on Hwy M in Fitchburg had nothing as of early last week, but by Sunday, there were RRUs up there.
