Talked to Best Buy rep on phone
1) stated I need phone before tomorrow cause I am leaving internationally, current preorder hasn't even shipped
2) I offered store pick up, agent said yes
3) She will call store to confirm when open, 8 are in stock.
4) Not sure of gift card status, but she said it is likely I will get them 5) Patiently awaiting 10a CST for call back
Overall: Extremely straightforward and pleasant experience. As always, customer service is YMMV
