  1. One possibility is that they didn't want any negative initial reviews by real users to tank sales. The more they get sold before people REALLY know what they have got, the more momentum they give the process. Another possibility is that it is marketing people being control freaks and caring more about hype than customers. A third is that they're still in final testing and want to be able to push final patches at activation if that is possible.
  2. So now the next story is that they are actually honoring the Samsung release date and the whole early shipment thing is BS. Amazing. Why not just come clean and tell everyone? Just games with customers to generate a "WTH are they doing?" I can't believe that they posted all the changes they did on the order status site. How do you tell the difference between an actual plan or a flip-flopping policy? Anyone know enough about the relationship between Samsung and the carriers to guess if there is a chance this is Samsung now throwing their weight around to enforce a release date?
  3. Phone call just for laughs. No different information available. The warehouse seems to be filling orders randomly. No rhyme or reason. Only thing certain is that it definitely is not being done in order of placement up to this point. Pure, dumb, luck of the draw.
  4. Status:Your order for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has been received. Orders will begin shipping the week of 3/7. Keep an eye out for a shipping email with your tracking information. Thank you for your patience. ======================== [EDIT2] Nothing on UPS today. Did anyone ever establish what buyers got the preferential treatment or even see proof of an actual Sprint delivery yet? [EDIT1] I ordered a black phone (in case color is the reason for a shortage) 5am central time on Feb 23rd via the Sprint website with a 2 year contract renewal. I have not got a tracking number on the order status page (like I did for the VR) or an email (never did get one for the VR). http://www.sprint.com/myorder/
  5. http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=9795&view=1&c=samsung_sm-g935p_galaxy_s7_edge_td-lte_samsung_hero_2 Here is the place to start sending information to once we can start studying them firsthand.
  6. Obtained via email or order status page?
  7. The message changed again... Status:Your order for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has been received. Orders placed before 10:00 AM CT on 3/1 will deliver in 2-5 business days. Orders placed after 10:00 AM CT on 3/1, will begin shipping 3/7. Keep an eye out for a shipping email with your tracking information. Thank you for your patience. ================== I am reading that as saying: Anyone ordering after this point doesn't get the "early" release service.

  9. I won't be that optimistic, it'd be more realistic to say by the weekend. The closer you are to Louisville, KY the faster you'll see delivery once they start to track. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  10. Check your orders. Status message changed this morning. "Status: Your order for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has been received. Orders placed before 3:00 PM CT on 2/29 will begin shipping 2/29. Orders placed after 3:00 PM CT on 2/29, will deliver in 2-5 business days from the date of the order. Keep an eye out for a shipping email with your tracking information. Thank you for your patience." Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk

  12. No information showed up with the VR Gear so it'll probably install when the vrGear is installed on the phone if sprint is participating. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  13. http://www.droid-life.com/2016/02/27/t-mobile-galaxy-s7-and-s7-edge-pre-orders-are-starting-to-ship/ Has Sprint ever had a history of this? I don't remember getting the GS4T or Photon early.
  14. Fit on my gs4t shuts itself down periodically when it doesn't get any attention. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk

  16. I won't complain if they scrap the official release date and start shipping early if they have them ready to go. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  17. I do carry the protection plan, and I am on my third gs4 in two years. Drop, screen kill about 6 months in. I swear by my speck cover now. Then a sim card reader fail on #2 just two months ago. I could probably drop the coverage now but I need to prove at least through one contract cycle that I can't kill a phone. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  18. Be careful. 6 years out of date. It may not be current any more.
  19. Reading the gear vr manual. It finally struck me. If they had gone to USB C they were going to lose compatibility with the CURRENT gear VR. There goes the promo. Gear VR pulls power from the phone because it doesn't have its own battery. The next generation phone and gear VR will see USB c I'd wager. The clip with the usb port used for sizing has an undocumented lock that allows it to slide wider for the taller phones. It's isn't a simple detent push latch. It's a spring loaded lock. 20. I didn't say anything about burning hands or even suggest discomfort. I generally have cold hands. Compared to air, I'm a good heat sink for when I stress out the processor. Memory card, speck case (next to my current gs4 case for size comparison), and gear vr. Everything here and ready to go. About ten days until they start shipping phones. 21. This showed up in the rumors thread... http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/7323-samsung-galaxy-s7-rumors-thread/page-11&do=findComment&comment=470384
  22. This is one of those times where it's good to have cold hands. You become the external heat sink. Nice in the winter - hand warmer. Keep it out of direct sunlight - it works both ways.
  23. That's because they more than make up for it on the lease program profits. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  24. The vr units are coming from the UPS main air hub in Louisville, KY, and I'd expect nothing less of the phones. Part of UPS's logistics management program I'd wager. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  25. The "tracked out" is for the Gear VR. See above for all the relevant running conversation. The VR Gear is on its way and DEPARTED Indianapolis on UPS after a weather delay. The phone will not ship until closer to the release date. I'll post a photo of the Gear VR once it is in my grubby paws. I don't think it's compatible with the GS4 so I won't do much more than study about it until the phone arrives in a couple weeks.
