  1. Found a new Boost Mobile/ Dish site going up within my range. Very friendly crew. They said in my area 2000 of these sites are going up and they have been working seven days a week for months. These sites will not only service smart phones but also TVs over the same frequencies. The plan is to eliminate satellite dishes on people's homes. I also think this could put them in the ISP business. They allowed me to take pictures:
  2. The chipset of the T-Mobile Revvl V+ 5g phone also supports VonR like the Samsung A32 5g. The Oneplus Nord N200 5G does not.
  3. This phone's chipset supports VoNR, which I previously thought was limited to the s21 series with its 888 chipset. This will greatly increase this phone's functionality with T-Mobile soon and certainly extend its useful life. https://corp.mediatek.com/news-events/press-releases/mediatek-announces-dimensity-720-its-newest-5g-chip-for-premium-5g-experiences-on-mid-tier-smartphones I did not notice this before (others may have).
  4. I think you would have much greater difficulty without having the Airave. Regular T-Mobile customers were told no for similar requests. What speeds did you get versus your ISP speeds?
  5. Having a TNX line plus legacy lines might have been the key element. How fast are you able to get versus your ISP speed?
  6. Sound like they are addressing band 41 density, which is my concern. Historically T-Mobile would give each site just the minimal number of bands it required. Now we just need the FCC to hold the 2.5 auction and for T-Mobile to score at least 100MHz contiguous across the county.
  7. Got a November 1 security firmware update last night for my factory unlocked s21 ultra. It did not mention any video improvements. Samsung band selection app still works with Verizon network (Red Pocket).
  8. I have heard rumors from several sources that it is starting to operate now in some very select places. Once I get through their byzantine byod 5g process I hope to find a likely local example.
  9. On a quick glance I did not see mention of this, but hopefully @ingeniumknows!
  10. I don't think they knew how Sprint customers would behave. Nor Boost Mobile customers. Especially down to the cell site level.
  11. https://www.fiercewireless.com/5g/t-mobile-poised-launch-25-ghz-5g-carrier-aggregation I expect to see this soon, certainly once the Magic boxes are and small cells are retired.
  12. We need to watch for better 5g CA in these updates as well: https://www.fiercewireless.com/5g/t-mobile-poised-launch-25-ghz-5g-carrier-aggregation
  13. 5G NR is too generic on the status bar. Why not n600 or n71 or n2500 or n41? This not only relevant to the expensive phones but also the giveaway 5g phones and furthers the education process.
  14. Actually, the factory unlocked version with the latest software update, shows additional NR for 66 and 77 with AT&T MVNO Sim. On some other Samsung phones, it has been reported that once you unlock the T-Mobile phone and insert a different sim, you don't get all the same bands as the factory unlocked. I expect this phone to behave the same way. When I put in a T-Mobile MVNO sim into the factory unlocked I got the following bands: 13, 25 & 26 as expected and adds bands 14, 29, 30, & 71. On The NR side with this sim I got 2, 5, 25, 41, 66, 71, 77, 78. So from a Boost Mobile standpoint it would miss NR70, but has NR 66 and 71 that are in trial. The Android security patch level is Sept 1 rather than Nov 1 on the T-Mobile firmware (Samsung unlocked is typically older for all models). Note: n78 is a sunset of n77.
  15. Band 2 is used with n41. Band 12 is used with n25. n66 and n71 were tested alone. Overseas bands: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/20/25/26/28/38/39/40/41/66/71 ,NR Bands N25/41/66/71
  16. This is another "free" phone from T-Mobile in exchange for two years service commitment. Bands certified with FCC: 4g: 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 25, 26, 41, 66, 71 5g: n25, n41, n66, n71 Made by the same firm that did the original Revvl, Wingtech Group based in Hong Kong. The original Revvl can be band locked (band selected) using the Quick Shortcut Maker App. Perhaps this one acts the same way?
  17. There is a way to select or lock onto 4g LTE bands with quick shortcut maker app without rooting. Unfortunately it does not work with NR bands.
  18. Or even by Magic Box. Some versions of the Magic Box are more suited than others. The location of this Magic Box is about perfect. Provides internal coverage to an area that previously did not have coverage (now gets some low band). Across the street it gives coverage into a shopping center that has almost no coverage as well. Reaches almost to the back of a small grocery story. Covers into the front area of a bar/restaurant as well as a number of places in between. Plus in a nimby surburb.
  19. I tested my A32 5g with TNX sim and T-Mobile. firmware and had no issues connecting to my original Magic Box. 82/7 iirc.
  20. Most carriers cut the depreciating sites by half at about the six month mark. Mid December may be that time. CDMA likely already happened.
  21. Ordered a factory unlocked. Will report back on how it works on the various national networks (thru various MVNOs). I figure it is a very good hunting phone. Can use the band selector app, so root not typically needed. Of course no mmWave, but that is $$$$$ for a s21 or $$$$ for a Pixel 6. If it does not work as intended, I can return it by January 8.
  22. How rapidly did the data rate fall off? How far away did you need to walk before the n260 dropped you? Did you try going into a close-by building and standing in the window to see the speed or behind a large bush or small tree or around the corner on a side street? Looking for how delicate is this frequency currently. Band 41 was often derided for its short range, but was soon refined to go much longer distances and into buildings. Is the same thing starting to happen with this frequency?
  23. Looked at the FCC reports. NR bands are 2, 5, 25, 41, 48, 66, 71, 77. AT&T is on NR 2, 5(DSS), and soon for 77. Dish is working on n66, n71. Also in trial for Dish is n70 at @2.1GHz, but this phone does not have that listed.
