  1. I had a question about the new unlimited data throttling policy. I realize that they're saying new customers and upgrading customers on unlimited plans will start to get throttled in congested areas after 23 gigs of data, but for the people who are not involved in that does that mean we don't get throttle at all? I remember reading somewhere in the terms and conditions when I signed my contract a while back that there would be throttling in congested areas. So what does this mean for people who are not put in this new category of throttling? Also does this mean if you simply by your device out right and don't upgrade through a sprint payment plan that you're still exclusivity from this new throttling ?
  2. I have an iPhone 6s. I need to update that info.
  3. I live in the Charlotte area to and I have a question. Why is it that even when I'm in an LTE area, I generally have to toggle airplane mode? Whenever I do toggle it and get LTE, I generally hold onto it but I think it's odd if I going to building and then it switches to 3G which I understand because of the spectrum, I come out I still have to toggle airplane mode. Other carriers that I've had in the past generally just grab the LTE signal and hold onto it. For whatever reason I'm just curious as to why Sprint is different. I think back in 2012 when network vision started a representative told me that it was just growing pains and fine-tuning of the network, that should not be more or less settled at this point? Also, does anyone know when or if Sprint will get voice over LTE for iPhone?
  4. Do they have any throttling terms? I was only curious because of Verizon's recent announcement that they would not throttle unlimited lte users. Why would the fcc crack down on them an none of the other carriers? They all claim to use network optimization tactics at heart, yet it's obviou they would like to improve their revenue stream.
  5. I've been reading the fine print here and there. Does the unlimited my way plan get throttled? Or is it just the iPhone plan? I'm Trying to decide if they all get throttled or just some. Thanks.
  6. I know that the coverage is going to be all about capacity instead of range, but does anyone know what kind of range were talking about when it comes to that particular spectrum? Potentially adding more years to the network overhaul?
  7. So after reading around, am I correct in thinking that spark (band 41) will be deployed on EVERY single site sprint has at some point in the future? Or just where clearwire's footprint was before?
  8. When you say that iPhone doesn't put it as a priority, do you mean it has to addressed in a software update? Or a future version of the handset?
  9. Even more good news. Isn't band 41 the spark variety? Also if I were to upgrade to an iPhone 6, would the extra bands help with call reception/dropped calls, or only data?
  10. That's great news. But just because they can deploy doesn't mean they will though right? Not if the operating costs out weigh their benefits?
  11. Thanks man. I'm sure hoping so. Probably not in Mooresville though.pretty sure the clearwire spectrum is primarily in the Charlotte area. I'm not really familiar with band 26 though. Is that a higher or lower frequency? I just can't figure out that 800mhz here in town. It's everywhere, but not turned on or showing on the maps. I have a hard time thinking they'd come to town, upgrade the towers, then come back later for 800mhz lte. Maybe that's the case though. Who knows.
  12. Agreed. I only ask because in up in the air as to whether any thing would improve in the area. Woukd the new bands in the new iPhone potential help? I thought it would only help me pick up spark. They was an enormous amount of Nextel spectrum here in Iredell, because the sherries department used it.
  13. Im noticing that there is no 800mhz lte in the Charlotte/Mooresville area in nc. Is there going to be a rollout of that or spark in the future? We had a lot of Nextel spectrum when it was in use, so where'd it go lol? I spoke to a customer service rep and he seemed to not know what I was talked by about. Any help would be great. Thanks
  14. And as a second part, the Bradley school road tower in Mooresville just came online today. Would I be able to reach that tower from my location? I haven't gotten any lte at home, but I'm basically perfectly in the middle of the two towers in town. At times I have full bars, so I'm assuming that kte would reach, or am I out of its range at 6-7 miles?
  15. According to this pic off of the network/sprint site, there is a tower in the heart of Mooresville next to the location indicator. In previous months it had disappeared, but I knew that I had seen it a while ago. Now it's back. It's also not listed on the nv sites complete map. Robert do you know why this tower would have vanished the reappeared? And if you can find it, is it part of network vision or is it something else entirely? Could it be a Nextel 800 that is, or has been converted? Any help is appreciated, as this has stumped me for some time. Initially I just believed that had seen it this tower, but when it vanished I wrote it off. I knew I had seen it though!
  16. I see. They've lit up several towers in the immediate area for consecutive weeks. I'm hoping that it's within the next week or two. Thanks.
  17. The tower at Bradley school road(exit 36) has been in progress for about a month now. Wish I had an idea of when they fire it up. Anyone know how I can tell that's its being worked on?
  18. At least one tower in Mooresville has been in progress for at least 3 weeks now. Eagerly awaiting the switch being flipped. Was in Charlotte last night also, and it seemed that I had to keep toggling airplane mode to get continuous lte, but when it flipped to 3g it was full signal. I could get 3 bars max of let though, in the same spot. This confuses me. I thought they were the same as far as building penetration.
  19. I like that article very much. It makes feel better. Now if the doj would just let the SoftBank deal go through, we'd be on our way to a better network!
  20. Perhaps this is some kind of ploy by dish/clear to drive sprint's offer up. That would be my first guess. I'm not sure on what kind of monetary assets dish is working with, but I hope that they don't take it to the point that sprint won't outbid them. Not to mention sprint's controlling shares... This is a head scratcher.
  21. Went through Cornelius yesterday and no lte still. Not sure what's going on with that. Did everything I could think of as far as airplane mode, etc. Nothing. I see they've started in hickory also. No love for Mooresville in the middle! Whyyyy????lol
  22. Went back through the Cornelius area again, and lte was nowhere to be found. Strange....
  23. I thought I read somewhere that there'd be leaving the lte on because they were a quarter behind.
  24. That's the place. I held the signal for a few miles while heading south, but not as long on the way back up. Got off at exit 28 to hunt a little, but the signal was weak and kept reverting to 3G. It was nice for the few minutes I got to play. Not sure if they're are moving north with their work, or moving towards Charlotte, but that's the farthest north it has come!
