  1. I'm sure the T-Mobile trial for 2.5G is to double check their plan to quickly lay it down and convert towers over. A "Test Run" if you will...
  2. Brad overload. "Whoa! Slow down! " from Trip... I agree. chill!
  3. Thanks RedSpark! Great news! Here's a link to the article from Seeking Alpha and Bloomberg News California PUC judge recommending OK of Sprint/T-Mobile - Bloomberg
  4. In the words of Seinfeld (George).... "They're sticking it to us Jerry... Stickin IT!!!" LOL
  5. LOL... Like I said... I like the last bullet point. $15 million for CA and our state partners in crime.... I mean just "partners".... You pay us for suing you! Blood sucking ....... 's ! LOL I guess California does try to squeeze blood out of a Turnip. They squeeze milk out of Almonds.... why not!
  6. How do you like the last bullet point of the California's Attn Gen: Reimburse California and other coalition states up to $15 million for the costs of the investigation and litigation challenging the merger. We sue you, we loose and you pay!?! Politics at it's best! I don't think T Mo should have to pay for their stubbornness.
  7. Agreed! It's just foot dragging at this point. Trying to be as much of a pain in the *** as possible. We will give our blessing on April 16, .... T Mobile should have said Closing on March 1st. Then they (Cali) would have probably said we'll give our blessing on March 16. There really isn't much choice but to just go along with it and stop wasting more money.
  8. Not yet, but as one of the stories on line said, with this decision, what other course of action can they take up? It pretty much is a no other choice situation (IMO). What do you think? C|net sums it up this way: "Becerra's decision to give up the fight will likely mean that T-Mobile will be able to close the deal as it has promised by April 1. The California Public Utility Commission also must approve the deal, but the California AG's settlement with the companies makes it more likely that the California PUC will not oppose the deal. "
  9. Yes. Now for sure, it's just waiting on the formalities... (CPUC and the NY Judge) but both are pretty much assured.
  10. From c|net: California won't continue fight to stop T-Mobile-Sprint megadeal The $26.5 billion merger between the third and fourth largest US wireless companies will finally close.
  11. T-Mobile Sprint Merger can proceed per California California's Becerra will hold a press conference (@12:30 ET) Wednesday to announce a settlement with the companies. and from another report / news source: US News and World Report T- Mobile Sprint Merger
  12. I agree. This is something else. So many useless roadblocks. So much wasted time and money on all this. This should of been done and over 3 months ago before the first of the year. What's going on with the Judge for the DOJ who has to sign off on the agreement? What's slowing him down?
  13. Good to know. It was ironic that Sprint is always short on sites. (???) I do know the are I work in... and it's spot on with the sites as far as Sprint goes. Signal could be better, yet it's in the heart of Industrial Detroit/Dearborn MI.
  14. I don't know if you folks ever went on Cell Mapper.com... but I checked my area and a few other metro areas... It seems Sprint has roughly 1/2 the cell towers as everyone else. In my area there are 3 or 4 towers with Sprint equip. Compared to T-Mobile that has 12. Okay I thought... I'm doing something wrong.... I checked a different area of suburban Detroit and it's the same..... Next I looked at some areas of Ohio.... each time coming up with Sprint having the fewest towers. This is a critical reason I was so upset with Sprint and probably a prime reason VoLTE took so long to come our area. This is also why I wanted the Merger. If nothing else, tower density (and hopefully) better coverage will come in time as we migrate to T-Mo towers/ etc.
  15. I'm hoping they do some sort of Merger Briefing soon. Hopefully they will disclose the game plan with some numbers thrown in... cell sites, moving customers on or so-forth... a lot of what we are going on is information from almost 1-1 1/2 years ago. When and if they do, it will be a great meeting to tune into for details!
  16. Thanks snake... do you still think all lights are green for 4-1? (I'm hoping.)
  17. I was able to find this on "Politico": "— California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, one of the states that led the challenge, hasn’t yet said whether he would seek an appeal, but officials with his office have noted that CPUC’s decision is still outstanding. The agency could seek additional conditions on the deal before it gives approval. The CPUC’s in-house judge is expected to issue a preliminary decision before March 13."
  18. Yeah, I heard that yesterday too. The 16th is the end of the 30day period. Something happens before then on March 12 or 14th... can't remember what. I'm trying to find info on it... where are you seeing it? My normal sources are turning up empty. Do you think they'll still "close" on April 1st?
  19. I want to keep the guy's identity safe for work reasons.. you can understand that.... I'd rather not blast it around as to who he is. If I give the link, everyone can go there and replay...then you'll find out You'll just have to wait and trust. Like I said, he was live and speaking remotely... He's a tower tech for Sprint... soon to be transitioned to T Mobile. He said their jobs are safe due to the extensive work scheduled after April 1. Lots of overtime.
  20. Was on one of the tech channels on YouTube... A Sprint tower tech was saying speaking in anonymity that on closing (April 1) they are setting up to open the networks. Meaning, via software update, Sprint will have access to T-Mobile and vis-a-versa... on April 1st. Hoping this is true! On Tower Integration... They are setting up Integration do begin nearly immediately as they are set to do market by market tower integrations (combining towers/ moving equipment to best site). They will be doing massive mimo upgrades as much as possible at the same-time on 2.5, band 41, Band 25 (1900 sprint) band 2 (1900 T-Mo.) and Band 4 (TMO 1700/2100) According to him, they have the maps ready and will only be combing towers that are very nearby each other to avoid interference. The network integration will take approx 2 years, but realistically less. Again, this is market by market... (Metro area- by Metro area). Thoughts? ...
  21. I was going to ask a similar question. I wondered that too. I think I'm in a pretty good spot as I have a Samsung 9+ and I know it gets all of the bands from both carriers. I think any higher-end Samsung from the S9 (and Newer Notes) up maybe and some very new I-Phones?
  22. ...or the entire mall closing... LOL... Sorry... couldn't resist. Malls are more endangered than Sprint Stores...
  23. I'm thinking that too, but wondered what the employees are hearing internally?
  24. Hey Sprint store employees, ... this thread is aimed at you. Whats going on at the retail level? Any news regarding rebranding or the merger on your side yet?
