I DM”d him on the 16th, no reply yet. Guessing he’s just too busy lately.

Yep, for about a week so far. I sent Robert a DM.

Official Tmobile-Sprint merger discussion thread
jasonsteele replied to Nextel49's topic in T-Mobile Merger/5G NR Deployment
Ugh. All 6 of my lines are still connected to Sprint service thank God, hopefully they'll keep it as is for me until the very end. I'm on Sprint for a reason, if I wanted to be on T-Mobile I would have switched long ago. I loathe AT&T (not because of their service or coverage, but in general) and never considered Verizon. But I guess whatever will be, will be. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk EDIT: Wow, I spoke too soon. This morning some kind of update was pushed to all of my lines, I cannot connect to to Sprint LTE anymore, only T-Mobile. When it was pushed SignalCheck stated the network as IPSEC for about two minutes before it went back to Sprint. -

I have to opt in every two days. Cal Screener is a hot mess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro -
T-Mo has been adding the N41 panels to their sites in Phoenix the past couple of weeks. I would imagine they will be either stealing a couple of the Sprint carriers or killing my MB relay channel soon. I think they have enough bandwidth here to keep it all running for now though. We will see, I'm on Sprint and I'm connected to B41 90% of the time outdoors. To lose that would suck to say the least. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Yep, Sprint postpaid. I even drove out of the area to see if it would work elsewhere, but nothing. I've connected to T-Mobile roaming before, and it's always B66 or B12 on my S10 Plus according to SignalCheck. I'll keep an eye on my iPhone XR as well for roaming, as I usually carry both phones with me and they generally roam in the same places (although Field Test mode is a PITA). Maybe something happened because of last weeks update? Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Downloaded the app, tried bands 2, 4, 12, 66 and 71. Showed no service on all bands. Band 71 tried to connect, but ultimately failed. Thanks for the idea though! Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Yeah, I do facilities maintenance so when stuff doesn't work I go into panic mode. Because everything has to work, right? I guess I'll just live with the MB quirks for now and wait until T-Mobile parks me on their network before I pack it up and send it back. B66 LTE is very strong in my house (T-Mobile tower is a bit closer than the Sprint one) and has great speeds. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

UPDATE: Rebooted once more this morning before I went to work, still not connected to LTE backhaul when I returned home. Rebooted once more, and it reconnected about 15 minutes in. I guess it was just stuck on stupid for a day or two. It’s broadcasting the same EARFCN as before 39874, 2518.4MHz. It’s connecting to the same frequency it always does also, 2640.4 MHz. Phoenix market. I didn’t note the broadcast EARFCN when I connected to WiFi momentarily, but I’m afraid to connect to that again for fear of losing LTE because it works now. It’s become increasingly finicky the past couple of weeks, where occasionally it’s connected to backhaul and broadcasts nothing (LTE icon is greyed out) and my devices won’t connect for an hour or two then boom, it works again. Maybe it’s on the fritz. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I have the MB to strengthen signal in my house (where congested and barely usable B26 normally is all I get on any of my four phones without it), mainly in the event of an ISP outage (which unfortunately happens quite frequently, thanks Cox). The MB picked up B41 indoors through a south facing window with good signal, and was extremely reliable and useful...so basically, lack of LTE backhaul renders it useless for my needs. I totally understand why they killed it though, repurposing that 20 MHz block for everyone as opposed to just me and maybe two or three other people in a suburban single family home neighborhood makes more sense. Well, looks like they finally killed LTE backhaul in my area yesterday. MB connects to Wi-Fi backhaul, but refuses to connect to B41. Rebooted three times, factory reset once. No dice. Looks like I'm packing it up and sending it back, no way in hell im using Wi-Fi backhaul. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Galaxy S10 family Discussion Thread (was rumors and news)
jasonsteele replied to xdfgf's topic in Samsung
Just added a line with the S10 Plus $0 monthly lease, $20 a month for my fourth line. My first Android phone in eight years. Couldn’t resist. I ditched the Sprint Complete on my three other current iPhone lines, that was costing me $45 per month. Also ditched my $15 iPad cellular line which I rarely used. Now I have four lines, a new phone, and still cheaper than I was paying prior. I can finally tool around with SignalCheck and CellMapper and satisfy my inner nerd. Just got a text from Sprint. Seems like they want to cut off LTE backhaul soon. Sprint: A quick & easy update. Reconnect your Sprint Magic Box to your home internet for a better network. http://s.sprint.com/tz9Evsv FreeMsg. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Thinking about taking a baseball bat to mine. No thoroughput starting yesterday, even though it was connected to B41 backhaul and broadcasting B41 LTE. Rebooted twice, been stuck on stupid for 6 hours and won’t finish booting. EDIT: Reset to factory default, working now RE-EDIT: Aaaaaand it’s down again. They must be tweaking the network around here, Phoenix metro Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

My first Sprint phone was the Evo 4G, in LA/North OC it actually wasn’t bad. I was even able to pick up WiMAX in my house! How many can say that? I used Clearwire WiMAX home internet from 2011 until they shut down service, installed a yagi antenna on my roof pointed towards the tower. Still have the old Clear modem in a box in my garage, along with my Netgear Zing I used after the WiMAX shutdown (before finally getting cable internet). BTW that tower STILL has the old dual mode WiMAX/B41 LTE panels installed by Clear to this day. Honestly I can’t say that I’ve ever been completely satisfied with Sprint service, and there were times where I cursed them in my head (in the big box store, in my head, “f***in Sprint”) but what I can say is that I never desired to be a T-Mobile or Verizon customer. So I guess Sprint wasn’t that bad after all. Farewell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Im guessing most likely an iPhone field test bug, but here goes. iPhone XR, shows primary B26 and secondary B41. Phoenix metro (not sure which vendor this market is). Seems like even if it were possible speeds are too high. About 1000 yards from a Sprint Store that probably had a magic box and about 1/2 mile from the macro. Wish I had an Android for stuff like this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

My 2nd gen updated today and enabled WiFi backhaul. Not going to use it, since it has a good B41 connection. Made three calls, VoLTE has not connected yet. SW Ver. 15.16.50.944 60.12.71.0 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Finally got a Magic Box, they sent me a refurbed 2. I get 3CA B41 in front of my house in the street pulling 176 Mbps but moderate to weak B25 or B26 in my house pulling 1.5 to 7.5 Mbps tops. The box connected to B41 right away and now I’m pulling 45 to 60 Mbps inside. Fun stuff for a nerd, but my wife thinks it’s weird that I’m so excited. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro EDIT: One thing I’ve noticed, the serving cell info screen in Field Test Mode on my XR never changes after connecting to my Magic Box, no matter where I am, without a reboot. It’s stuck on stupid.

Same thing happens to me on my XR in the Phoenix metro, random places. Reboot phone is the only thing that works. Happens to my wife’s XR too. Started happening about a month ago, even before the new 13.2 update and 39.0 carrier bundle. Happens about two or theee times a week. Hard to say if it’s a network issue or phone issue, I contacted a Sprint network tech that helped me in the past and he told me they got rid of his department a couple of years ago. I’m at a loss. I had an issue yesterday on my iPhone XR. I’m in a Walgreens in an area that is in between cell sites, usually Band 26 outdoors. I usually drop to EVDO or even 1x in the store, but found my phone roaming on what I believe to be AT&T LTE (MCC-MNC 310-410). Left the store and drove 10 miles to a laser tag venue, Sprint cell site across the street in plain view. My son’s iPhone XR was pulling 175 Mbps on band 41, my phone was still stuck on AT&T roaming until I reset with airplane mode. I’m guessing my phone was stuck on stupid? Another issue, my phone was also stuck on 1x driving home from work the other day for at least 10 miles before I reset with airplane mode. I’ve had the phone for 2 months, just rejoined Sprint after 3 years with AT&T. Strange. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Nice work! There are a few Mobilitie sites in the LA portion of Harbor Gateway as well, I can’t verify them because I don’t live in LA anymore and I only have an iPad on Sprint. I remember one on Carson one block west of Normandie... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
