  1. Ok, this article states that BB is going to put the phone on sale on 5/23 & Sprint is going to sell it starting 5/25?????? What no one sees the conflict or is everyone so happy that "who cares"? My hope is that it is true, that Friday I can get my phone. I have searched online & there is no news elsewhere.

Yes I see the conflict as do others I am sure, it was just something that we can read and speculate about in the mean time.

    Edit:

There are phones in the past that have been released at bestbuy before sprint had it available for sale. The touch pro or touch diamond(can't remember which one) was one of those devices, so it does happen, not saying thats the case this time though.

  2. Why don't you go take a long walk off a short pier with your honesty because no matter how much you think I'm lying about not receiving any communication from Sprint you're dead wrong. I'm willing to PM you my email and username just to prove my point. I also have a close friend who ordered about two minutes after I did and has also yet to receive ANYTHING from Sprint. And NO HTC played NO role in this as it was ultimately Sprint who knew for over a month that the phones were being stopped yet still tried to push as release. My new phrase for the month is, “Risk with Mitigation!”

Take a long walk off of a short pier? Ok Boss, if you say so. Also when did I ever call you a liar? Hmm? And how is this sprints fault? These phones(evo lte, one x) weren't held up due to the actions of sprint, they were held up due to litigation between htc and apple. Who knows if sprint new about it in advance and even if they did they probably had the same concerns and htc assured them that everything will work out just fine. Obviously it didn't work out and now everyone is scrambling to make things right. Now the only mistake sprint made is through public relations, they could have done a better job communicating with customers but other than that what else could they have done? They didn't infringe on a patent, htc did. Seems to me like you pissed off because you don't have the phone yet and it probably wouldn't have made a difference whether they emailed you or not, your attitude towards them would have probably been the same.

  3. New info and we should all be getting the phones soon!http://insidesprintn...red-by-customs/http://taipeitimes.c...5/21/2003533313It’s about time as to this day I have not received one word of info from Sprint themselves! I was told when I ordered I would receive my phone on or before May 18th and I have received no phone calls, emails or text messages about any delay. Sprint really blew this ordeal. I’m happy that there will finally be movement on my phone as they have had my money for almost two weeks now!Enjoy,5th :)

Thanks for the info but I have to be honest with you, sometimes shit happens that you can't control, thats just the facts of life. Pre-ordering was available before an actual release was even known, pre-ordering was not necessary nor mandatory to get the phone and sprint did not convey that message either. All they said was that whoever pre-orders will be the first ones to get the phone whenever they were available, well guess what, they weren't available. This is why I seldom pre-order anything because I know that a pre-order doesn't guarantee anything other than me parting ways with my money. Now I can understand you being frustrated with sprint because they didn't communicate with you directly after you sent them your $200 by choice(even though its known that they sent out a mass email to those that did pre-order about the delay) but I am sure they are even more frustrated being that they have ten's of millions of dollars of inventory sitting somewhere collecting dust. So please stop with the sprint bashing because at the end of the day it wasn't their fault, HTC played a bigger role in this. Also remember that its just a phone.

  4. Sprint is getting screwed hard by Apple. Frankly Sprint is probably still bent over the table with eyes the size of half dollars.I to have my new phone behing held hostage; but I am not angry with Sprint. I sure as heck would like to make some Apple sauce though. Apple is not a good company, and it's founder was not a good man. This is just but the start.

What goes around comes around, apple is gonna have a whole lot of bad karma coming their way soon enough.

  5. I wonder if there are any stores out there that may have actually gotten a few units to sell. I called a sprint store an hour ago and the dude told me that they may have a few for tomorrow, naturally I have my doubts but I guess it won't hurt to call them first thing in the morning. Anyone else called their local sprint stores to ask?

EVO LTE shipments are confirmed delayed

Here's a fun analogy.Let's say you want to go to a party on Saturday, but on Monday, your mom tells you that you have to clean your room and show her it's clean before you can go. You clean your room on Thursday and tell her it's ready to be checked. She doesn't come and check your room until Sunday.Reports are that HTC has been waiting over a month for approval, they did not "play chicken" as you called it and simply try to pass their product through customs without addressing the situation. The hate towards Apple comes from the nature of the patent to begin with, as it's such an obvious function and such a minor addition to the overall package. Part of this blame should also be on the system as well, which allows for such a situation to occur. Restricting things to this level can result in a stifling of advancements as competitors borrow minor ideas from one another and continue to improve upon them. This is bad for us, as consumers because it can slow the development of technologies and improvements into every day items we purchase.I'm all for protecting intellectual property when that property is a true advancement or a significant piece of the puzzle, but not when it's an incidental addition that is so obvious as far as functionality is concerned.

Wish I had two more hands so I can give this post 4 thumbs up.

Also I've been looking at other peoples order forms from Sprint.com and everyone else seemed to pay $200 even, but I payed Florida State Sales Tax of $12.00 making my total $211.99? Did anyone else pay tax? I do live in Florida but as far as I know we don't have an online sales tax rule or anything?

Its just your standard sales tax, based on your address, so it doesn't matter if you bought it online. If you lived in a state that doesn't have a sales tax then it wouldn't have generated a sales tax online.

EDIT: like what echo said right after me, it also depends on who you are buying it from as well.

  6. Sprint probably looked at all their pre-orders and said "Damn, I think we F'd up." I think the demand is more than they anticipated which is really saying a lot about how successful this phone will be. Or they figured "hey lets do a pre-order so we can take the customers money and make it seem like we will ship it out early only to then inform the customer that it will be late." Now they are sitting on a few million dollars collecting interest at the customers expense.

  7. The EVO 4G LTE phone hasn't even hit the FCC yet so how can it be launched in May anyways. I trust Robert in his findings that we will see the EVO 4G LTE around June 10 or later.Besides I think Sprint wants to give the Galaxy Nexus and LG Viper more time for sales.

Oh Eric, shame on you. The evolte went through the fcc a couple weeks ago.

  8. I really hope this is true, seriously. I had no doubt about PR getting upgraded fairly quickly being that they are so densely populated but I am really having doubts about the VI. The Virgin Islands has always been treated like a red headed step child when it comes to any kind of technological improvements, so we will see how this goes over the next few months.
