  1. What Softbank sees in Sprint: http://www.informationweek.com/mobility/3g/what-softbank-sees-in-sprint/240008446
  2. My point is that people that abuse the system (not necessarily you), drive changes to what we pay. Look at the recent hikes in TEP. I spend some time on different forums, and I'm aware of the many people that brick their phones without trying to fix them, rushing to get another because they can say it's a hardware/software defect. I know this a problem I am paying more for. Sent from my Timex-Sinclair using Tapatalk
  3. Those of us that are "responsible" see the reasoning in this, and practice it anyway. Unfortunately, the other 47% will feel entitled, and will lead to eventual tier plan changes for us all.
  4. I mentioned it in another thread, but you can make a shortcut instead of entering dialer codes to get to this screen. Download "QuickShortcutMaker" from the Play Store, run it and enter "field" in the search box. It should find Field Trial. Click on it and it will create a shortcut to use instead of the codes.
  5. Different reasons for updating towers at different times. All are frustrated by the network, but members of this site should realize the scope of this work. It is a lot, and it will not happen overnight.
  6. Mobileiron might be what you are looking for. Sent from my Timex-Sinclair using Tapatalk
  7. I tried this and I thought it was sucking my battery dry. It installs as a service and does not let you cleanly exit. I hope your experience is better.
  8. Here is some info on the ACU in picture #8 , connection at the bottom of the antenna. Does anybody know what the 3rd radio unit is for?
  9. Nice pix. I wish he could post which towers and when. He has posted on here before.
  10. For those who want to use Field Trial, you can also download an app from android market called Quick Shortcuts. This will let you create a shortcut to Field Trial for easy access.
  11. I wouldn't want to use it after they stop supporting it. It will probably be compromised soon afterwards.
  12. Thanks for the info, I will check out the thread. Link to the thread Boomer mentions: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1367-cdma-towers-that-squawk-the-wrong-coordinates/
  13. If the developer could compare the approximate coords of the Netmonitor located tower to the registered tower database, they could determine a likely match in most areas. Probably a lot of work though. Yes, I have checked the site maps which are great, but I'm looking for something dynamic, easier to use on the phone.
  14. Is there a more accurate app than Netmonitor to locate the exact position of cell towers? Netmonitor can be off be hundreds of feet and makes it difficult to ID the towers used. Antennasearch.com has exact coords of towers, but going back and forth between the two and trying to figure out if the tower shown on Netmonitor is the one showing on Antennasearch is not working too well.
  15. There is supposed to be an OTA update in July to fix Google Wallet, so it is hoped that several other fixes will be on board as well. http://www.pocketables.com/2012/07/google-says-that-official-fix-for-google-wallet-is-coming-soon-for-htc-evo-4g-lte.html
  16. Did you have good signal levels most of the time? Any times when it was flipping in/out of LTE?
  17. What can be expected for battery drain when LTE becomes available? The WiMax on my OG Evo was really bad. Has anybody had enough signal yet to determine how it compares to being on 3G only or wireless only?
