  1. Yep I am pumped that Raleigh has been picked for Google fiber. Just wish they didn't chary pick hoods.
  2. Well I am glad because Time warner cable internet speeds just suck VS Comcast. 15/1 cost the same as 20/5 on Comcast 20/2 cost the same as 50/10 on Comcast. So yea Time warner cable can die. It's time they suck with old tech. I am rooting for the buy out because It can't really get much worse for time warner cable costumers. I may even make a pension or sign one for letting the deal go though. The enjoy better jokers can take there 60% packet loss and broken LTE interfering old plants out the door.
  3. Well now I am the loves speedtest guy. The funny thing is I have 700+ post in other places and I never got a custom title before. So now I just have to run my next speedtest before bed like I always do.
  4. Getting the phone with out the upgrade being pushed though the system that same day, yes you basely have to know one because the person could then go to a 2nd store and use the upgrade again and then it a big mess for the store reps. For keeping unlimited data no you don't have to know them well just DON'T go to a Verizon owned store because they will do every thing in there power to rip unlimited data away. Only a 3rd party store would be willing to do this. You need at lest one non unlimited data plan line to do this though.( To put the phone on for activation only, then put it back on your unlimited line.)
  5. My point was not to bash sprint, it was to say that they both alike when it came to there networks. But Sprint is now on it's way to fixing all that and I think T-mobile can too. Not saying they will, but can and I think we can have 4 big players.
  6. About less than 56kbs or in that one case with LTE at 73kbs 3G wouldn't pick up to do anything. Though my S4 won't let me force 3G, I will have to find out how to do so some time soon. Also my upgrade is now posted on my Verizon and my contract ends on 8/5/2015 with unlimited DATA.
  7. Um the same could have been said for sprint before NV with 3G speeds more like 2G speeds and a smaller 4G footprint than even T-moblie. And on top of that T-mobile has been still making money Vs sprint that has been losing money hand over fist. I think if some one wanted to enter the mobile data game, T-mobile would be way better than to try and build your own from the ground up. But really I think they have a chance of doing just fine with out a buy out happening to them.
  8. So can any one sign up for RST Global Communications 1gbs or is that just coming later? Looking at there web site I see a Business/Residential part but no pricing so I am guessing it's very high or they don't sell it yet? As for sprint LTE I am disappointed that they have not fixed it yet and that the online map shows something that is not there.
  9. Now it would be nice if some one with deep pockets other than AT&T, Softbank or Verizon sunk money in to buy T-mobile to then upgrade there 2G foot print to 4G LTE, got rid of the pink and the T-mobile name and rebooted there rep so that they could better fight the big two. Also the mobile broadband plans are over priced, they need to lower them or redo the pricing on those. ( Not cell phone plan's, hotspot/tablet plans.)
  10. So now we have the grandfather of sprint LTE and the lol guy. Can I be the Verizon hater for posting so many slow speed test videos on my youtube? and LOL
  11. I know that better than most here seeing every thing from 60mbs to 75kbs. ( Yes killobit per second like 2G speed.) Video: As for how I did it, I know a guy who works for them and put the phone in the system under a line that was not my unlimited one, BUT used my unlimited lines upgrade to do it. The reps at the Verizon owned stores like to tell you that you can't do that and are told to rip your unlimited away when they do that or any upgrade at all on a unlimited line. But he works for a 3rd party store so they don't have that kind of control to do that.
  12. AT&T is putting 700 LTE on Every tower Vs Verizon spacing them more far apart with some 3G 1900 CDMA only towers being left in the dust. AT&T down tilts the 700 LTE for better in building and less load per tower for better over all speeds.
  13. Um did you even read what the download speed was? It was just as slow as EDGE with really high ping. ( It was in the 4th of July and at the beach but still not good.) For me right now T-moblie as my back up line makes since due to unlimited text+voice for next to nothing Vs the arm and leg Verizon would want and I still have my unlimited data plan so I am not in a rush to JUMP out. (Oh yes I did)
  14. Guess you wouldn't pay for this then: And I did find some 4G in town but it's only in a few places. At lest the city next door has LTE, but if they don't fix it soon I will likely go to sprint when the tri band LTE phones come out and they fix LTE in wake forest. Note: Screen shot was on a Verizon S3.
  15. I think at the very lest that's what the "all in" plan should do for 110 dollars a freaking month.
  16. Well I called T-mobile, it sounds like I don't get 4G due to not being in a re-farmed area. ( My phone is quad band GSM/WCDMA) And the really funny part is they just lit a LTE tower on the Edge of town or at lest that's what the CS rep said so both LTE and re-farm are going to be done at the same time. I will likely just give it some time because I pay next to nothing for my line. Note why the LTE tower is funny is because some one once said T-moblie will likely upgrade the area to LTE before sprint get's the LTE back up and running.
  17. Grandfathered in and was able to upgrade at discounted price. S4 was 250 up front and I will be selling the S3 that I got for free from Verizon due to how they messed my Droid razr up. (It's a really long story with slow data speeds, countless calls to 611 the FCC,BBB and OTA braking thing's built into the phone that I was sold on. )
  18. With 0 down 25 a month for the S4 + 10 for jump makes that 210 to jump to the next best thing in 6 month's. In two years it would be 840 to have 4 phones. Not the worst deal I have seen. You would likely lose that much doing it your self. Not a great deal, but not the worst like AT&T's plan. ( I can't get over just how bad that plan is.)
  19. I know if time warner cable ever try's to jack my rate over 30 a month, I will say you can have my 30 a month or I will be giving it to Verizon to add the hotspot that's unlimited. ( Unlimited LTE rocks on the S4)
  20. Guess I was screwed again by a online Coverage map. Verizon really pissed me off a few month's ago with it showing 4G LTE all over an area and I didn't get 4G there and went from week 3G to no signal at all. Stayed there for a month and was very glad to have AT&T to make call's, use data. ( Had a unlimited data plan with them at the time.) On the upside, I am glad I didn't sign up for a true unlimited data plan with them. ( On 500mb and I bet I won't even be able to use it all.) Guess I will most likely be waiting for Sprint to fix 4G LTE here, tri band phones and it would be nice to have a high end water proof phone but I don't really need water proof.
  21. I only get 2G EDGE here in town even though the map shows it being a 4G area. I hope they fix it at some point to 4G like it should have been in the first place. Will T-moblie at the very lest upgrade there 2G towers in places to give "4G" areas 4g? Note: both AT&T and VZW have LTE here, Sprint has it on map but it's not live.
