Anatomy of a Sprint Triband Hexadecaport (16 port) Antenna Setup
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
I noticed this while driving, so I don't have a picture, but it looks like Sprint is also using a different antenna in LA Metro. It wasn't the KMW antenna pictured here, but it had more beveled front edges and was mounted next to an existing NV 800/1900 panel. Is there a scenario where a 12 port antenna + the existing NV antenna would be used instead of a single hexadecaport antenna? (It had more ports than an 8T8R antenna, but it didn't look quite look like 16.)

The picture may be misleading, but that looks like a very rural location for a B41 small cell.
Is there a variation of this setup that would use B41 as wireless backhaul, but the relay would be B25/B26?

Sprint's PCS spectrum position in Memphis goes from nothin' but a hound dog to Graceland

Is the thinking for San Francisco that trading the 700 block in Memphis would get Sprint the 10 MHz of PCS B block that T-mobile has in S.F., then Sprint could beg AT&T to switch PCS A&B blocks so Sprint could have all of A and AT&T all of B?

Sprint planning large network expansion adding 9,000 new LTE sites nationwide
in The Wall

There are still a few holes in SoCal. (Insert joke here.) In addition to expanding rural coverage, I think Sprint needs to make it a priority to have leading coverage/speed/capacity in key large markets like New York, L.A., San Francisco and Washington DC -- markets with high population density. Chicago is a good example of where things can go.

800 Reasons in South Florida why Sprint is further delayed to deploy LTE on 800MHz

I would be curious about this as well since I would like to know what in the world is going on in San Bernardino county.
I'm reaching out to the former Network Services Supervisor for San Bernardino County who left that job to join the 800 MHz Transition Administration. He should have a unique perspective on the situation.

Great research! I have reached out to the 800 TA for information about San Bernardino County in California, but I haven't heard back from them. When I have some free time I'll contact the County directly. (Unless someone has already beat me to it.)

Marcelo declares A New Day For Sprint and changes Band 41 priorities
in The Wall

It will be interesting to see the list of 3-5 cities that are selected. They could prioritize by subscriber count, ARPU, highest data usage or any number of things.
If it's highest data usage the list could be like the one mentioned in this article:

Great writeup! Here's what I believe is a 2.5/800 setup in Los Angeles. Until recently this site had no B41 antenna. Apologies for the poor picture.
