  1. Awwww, now you have us itching for the dirty laundry. Anyways, thanks for the update!
  2. Henrietta? I was getting distant 3G service from the Jetview Drive tower while at RIT early this morning. LTE flashed a few times, but I don't know where it was coming from. I've seen intermittent LTE at RIT for the past several weeks.
  3. What are the dots on the super secret sponsor's map near Buffalo? Sites that haven't been updated yet? Can we have those in Rochester?
  4. Just saw the acceptance report: only 3G updates? =(
  5. This morning Signal Check Pro alerted me to LTE on 390 southbound just past the airport. I am heading back through that way in a bit, this time with Sensorly running. Edit: I didn't catch any LTE on the way back through. Either the signal was super super faint or some wireless engineer is playing around with my head.
  6. Today driving north on 390 I had LTE from pretty far south of the Thruway all the way to Hylan Dr. today. Then I just saw the new acceptance report. Figures I was picking up the latest tower. =) Also, that new tower is right in my buddy's back yard. I think he even has an easement with the telcos so they can get to the tower through the corner of his property.
  7. The tower I picked up on 390 near Hylan Dr. must be pretty far away. I drove past the same spot about two hours later, this time going north, and didn't get any 4G on my phone. Regardless, I'm stoked. Soon!
  8. I took this screenshot this morning just south of the Hylan Dr. exit on 390: http://imgur.com/rZILt4n I was driving so I couldn't get a speed test in, but it looks like LTE is going live, baby!
  9. I just circumnavigated the airport with a quick stop to Tinseltown. Only slow 3G the whole time. I couldn't even get a 250KBps download from Speedtest.net. No sign of LTE in the west side suburbs. My LTE experience near Rochester has been limited to Dansville and Brockport.
  10. I live near the airport. I'll check later tonight when I get home from work. Right now I'm going to be driving around Henrietta until 5pm.
  11. Just to be clear, I had a 4G icon on my HTC One, indicating that I was indeed pulling from LTE. I didn't have a chance to screenshot a Speedtest and I went out of range of LTE pretty quickly. What struck me as awesome, especially coming from a few years of using Sprint WiMax phones, was that when it moved from 3G to 4G and back to 3G, I didn't have any connectivity interruptions. I'm guessing I kept the same IP. This is related to eHRPD, right?
  12. I just pulled 5mbps at the Brockport Farmer's Market. LTE baby!
  13. Did you actually get LTE somewhere in Rochester proper?
  14. Really? Sprint sends texts like that? That's pretty cool. =) I haven't seen any site approvals come through for Rochester in the past week or so. =( Hopefully this means we'll see updates faster!
  15. I work for a large university. Several years ago, three sets of Nextel iDEN antennas were added to the roof of the building in which I work. Back in Nextel's heyday, we had a good population of Nextel PTT users on campus. I started to read about the 800MHz iDEN shutdown a while ago. I was excited that I might soon have amazing Sprint signal in and around my office (instead of roaming on V when I go into the basement). About 5 weeks ago, right before the Nextel shutdown, the iDEN antennas disappeared. How can I find out if this was a permanent measure to remove Sprint's presence from our campus? Or is this typical of sites that were/are being upgraded to 800MHz Sprint LTE? There is already a Sprint 3G tower about half a mile south of our campus. LTE hasn't been rolled out here, yet (Rochester, NY).
