Apparently is has become voice already, just not VoLTE... The answer to the first question of the Magic Box FAQ https://www.sprint.com/content/Sprint/sprint_com/us/en/shop/services/magic-box/status.html#faqs refers you to the Sprint Calling PLUS web page https://www.sprint.com/content/Sprint/sprint_com/us/en/shop/services/wi-fi-calling.html#calling-plus which states "Calling PLUS combines Sprint’s Wi-Fi Calling capabilities with the ability to use the LTE data network for calls." Looking at the Calling PLUS FAQ https://www.sprint.com/content/Sprint/sprint_com/us/en/support/solutions/services/faqs-about-calling-plus.html, the fifth question is "Is Calling PLUS the same as VoLTE (Voice over LTE)?", which is answered "No, the current Calling PLUS solution provides VoIP capabilities using the Sprint LTE network."

For those still using a Galaxy S3 it would be good to know if this particular phone at least has a functional GSM radio that can be use to assist the phone to roam on GSM based network for domestic 911 calls -- if Verizon sunsets CDMA in a couple of years.

In IE11 go to the Tools menu and choose Compatibility View Settings. Then add s4gru.com to the Compatibility View list. Quotes should then start working.

This is also true in western Nebraska. Some Verizon roaming is 1x and some EVDO. I was able to use 1x data.

Thanks, I still wonder if PRL 55052 removes EVDO roaming since the current coverage map no longer shows it and it's not listed on the speeds chart.

I wish I'd saved a screenshot of the previous version of the "3G & More map. I thought it was strange that USCC EVDO showed as Roaming+ (pseudonative) but USCC LTE was roaming -- this would allow people to put their phones in CDMA mode and avoid the roaming data cap, albeit with slower speeds. This page indicates "Off Network Roaming" is all 1x: http://shop2.sprint.com/en/stores/popups/compare_data_speeds_popup.shtml There isn't a category listed for EVDO non-Extended roaming.

Does PRL 55052 take away EVDO roaming from USCC sites? The "3G & More" coverage map has been updated again and there's no longer 3G extended coverage shown in Nebraska,

Apparently this issue isn't completely resolved. When I stopped at the westbound rest area east of Austin a couple of weeks ago I had no service.

That may be one way to look at it. Another way is it adds confusion to managing use of my roaming quota. I wonder how many people will check the coverage map, think they are in a Roaming + area, then burn through regular roaming minutes. Not providing users a clear way to know what type of coverage they're using seems like a way to generate a lot of unhappy calls to customer service when roaming caps are inadvertently reached.

Is there a list of these partners somewhere on S4GRU? If so, where at?

If this is the case, it may have been clearer to leave the 3G Off-network Roaming color the same and add a 3G Off-network Roaming + category with a new paler color. That way you'd easily be able to tell if the Roaming + is 3G or 1x.

Be careful what you complain about. I'd be happy to get 400-700 kbps -- where I live I'm lucky to hit 100 kbps during the day, Often it's 50 kbps or less. Northwest of town where I spend many weekends just got the 1x to 3G Network Vision upgrade, so I'm looking forward to the Network Vision speeds at home too.

How much does getting 800 service on two-sector sites improve the width of the coverage area? I'm thinking of two-sector sites along highways where 1900 service is good on the highways but poor or not usable in the towns right next to the highways.

My phone's current PRL is 21097. SprintZone on my Epic 4G Touch says a PRL update is available to go to 21090. What's the difference between these PRLs? When the PRL version number goes down, is the update a new PRL or moving back to an old PRL?

Both "After" maps appear to have errors. The legend of the "After" voice coverage map says data rather than voice. If you look closely at the "After" map for data the purple appears slightly lighter than in the "Before" map. On coverage.sprint.com the slightly lighter purple indicates 3g roaming (check out northwestern Kansas using coverage.sprint.com's "Filter by 3g and more link" as an example). So I think the "After" map legend should say 3g roaming instead of Sprint 3g.
