  1. thank you. i have managed to get the phone activated by creating a ticket as everyone suggested, and thank you @irev210 for the info. I agree, it doesn't make any sense that they would want to delete the numbers. They initially tell you the ticket takes 7 -10 days to resolve, which seems like an unreasonable length of time for something so simple, but what really bothered me is that no one at sprint would tell me a) why it takes that long, and why the number wouldn't be there int he first place. i'm glad to have gotten something of an answer here, and i appreciate that this forum exists for that reason. Overall, i just wish there was a way to speak directly with higher level agents instead of having to deal with their prewritten scripts and have them doubting the information you are giving them. i must have been asked 7 times if it was a Sprint phone. As far as the corporate store, they told my wife that the phone was stolen, probably without even running the number because it still had someone's username in the "about phone" dialog. I mean REALLY Sprint? i understand they are salesmen above all else, but even the manager tried to convince her it was stolen. It's scenarios like this that give sprint a bad rep. when it comes to customer service, and overall i just wish it were different, and understand how less knowledgeable people would be extremely dissatisfied with their experience at sprint.
  2. Cool that's good to know, thank you, that made me feel a little better.
  3. To clarify, when doing a factory reset on a Samsung device, things like your sprint username, phone number and some other things are left behind. This was the case with my last Swappa device and it activated fine.
  4. I don't understand why it wouldn't be in the system either. It was technically listed as refurb, which may have something to do with it, but I don't see how that would modify the imei and leave the old username and phone number intact in the software. It is pretty suspect, and I have considered getting my money back, but the seller has completed many sales and has a 5 star rating, so I'll see how it pans out after the 72 hour timeframe I was given from sprint.
  5. So I purchased a sprint galaxy s6 off Swappa, and ran into problems activating it. Sprint corporate store said it was still someone else's phone, another agent on the phone said it was on someone's account, another agent said it was not, and two other chat agents said it was clean and just not registered in the database. So apparently all that is necessary is to add the imei to the database. First of all, why did the store and the first agent say it was in use? Second, why does it take 7 - 10 days for the number to be entered into the system? I've read online that managers can simply input the number into the system with a software tool called DNA2, and the phone is activated in minutes. Is there any truth to this? Largely, I've tried to ignore the anti sprint douxhebaggery, but I don't understand the inconstancy and the complication over something that seems so simple. I know this had been a problem in the past for nexus devices and other unlocked phones, but I figured that by now it shouldn't be an issue. Has anyone run into this problem before?
  6. Thanks, I wasn't aware that it was changed last year, I upgraded my device at 20 months this year. Adding lines is actually another reason why I was asking, as my daughter is almost ready to have her own. If you've done amy browsing on the official Sprint community forums, you'd see that it is rife with people who have encountered plan changes and bill increases when upgrading or adding lines. I'm aware that half of those complaints are bred from ignorance, but I've also been on the other side where my wife wasn't informed of the full consequences of making account changes. That said, it's nice to have a knowledgeable community to turn to to avoid all that nonsense.
  7. I am currently on the Everything Data 1500 plan. This plan is no longer offered, but I intend to keep it for as long as I am permitted, despite many associates attempting to convince me to switch to a different plan. My questions are as follows: 1) is Sprint going to eventually force me off of this plan? 2) this plan used to include a discounted subsidized device, upgrades were available at 20 month intervals. Sprint has introduced a new upgrade policy effective 03.01.15, stating that upgrades may only be done in 24 month intervals. I assume this applies to ED 1500? Does this remove the availability of a subsidized device (possibly related to the new fcc unlocked device regulation) meaning I will have to finance, our buy device outright? 3) is there anything particular I should do that will help me stay on this plan, or a can Sprint eventually force me off? My father in law, for example, is still grandfathered on Verizon unlimited data, and they haven't had that option for years. Can I expect to keep this plan with unlimited data for a few years? I know sprint had another plan (currently unavailable) that guaranteed unlimited data for the life of the line, it was offered a month or two after I joined Sprint. Thank you for any information
  8. After months of 1.5Mb plus on 3g, my home tower has dropped to an unusable speed. I've been getting a weak, intermittent lte signal during that time that cuts out after a minute or two. I hope tomorrow is the day they flip the switch
  9. Idk man, I live in ventnor heights, work in egg harbor. I don't really spend a lot of time in AC unless in driving through it or running errands. Either way I usually have lte turned off because I don't get a signal at my house yet.
  10. Atlantic city I got no higher than 3.72 down, 4.34 up, that was at the post office/sun bank
  11. It's on in some areas of Atlantic city, just slow. Personally I'm waiting for ventnor to be lit up. The tower in egg harbor near plasantville is on, 20 MBS down this morning...
  12. Better than the zero we have in south Jersey. I'm guessing the accepted lte site is in the Trenton area. Anyone in the Atlantic city area?
