  1. Speedtest on my WiFi with Road Runner... Speedtest on my local Sprint tower...
  2. Yes, I was reminded yesterday at the Sprint store when I upgraded my GS3 to a G3 there was a $35 restocking fee, not $50.
  3. "Cincy" can be a bit deceiving in regards to my test. I'm in the Cincy market, but my tower is about 50 miles/1 hr North of Cincy. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  4. Been seeing some amazing speeds off my local tower the last week or so on B25! This is off the tower I posted pics of a while back with the very first known 8T8R antennas. Some of you will remember that. This test is on a GS3. Pretty impressive speeds for B25 you think? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  5. I hope to get up there soon with my son's G2 and see if it is. I'll post any update...
  6. Greenville, OH has 2 Sprint towers. The southern one just received the same antennas. I didn't have my DSLR with me, only my GS3 so the pics aren't as good. I'll stop back by soon and get better pics, but until then... Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  7. It was not a protection site. It never had WiMax. It's had NV equipment since July '13, and just received the new B41 antennas.
  8. Thanks for the credit! No, the site is not [4G] live yet, 3G/800 voice only at this point. Hardware installer I spoke to said it is scheduled to throw out 4G by May, and when it does it will have all 3 bands live. One thing I don't quite understand though, is he said it already has fiber ran to it, and with the 3G speeds I get from it I believe that. However, I had ran into a crew (contractor for Time Warner) the day before that was stringing new cable. They that said they were running it to this Sprint tower. Is this a back haul upgrade I wonder? He also told me that this tower has been Sprints "guinea pig" for testing. He said it sees all the new stuff before most of the others do. I'll keep you posted on any updates. Thanks, Eric
  9. I took a few more pics this morning with the morning sun shining on the antennas. They're a little better, but I still need a bigger zoom.
  10. Can't get any closer. I was resting my camera on the top of the fence for those pics, with 200mm lens maxed. I do, however, have a photographer friend. I have asked her is she has a 300mm zoom and I'm waiting to hear back from her. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  11. Most definitely! Like I said, this tower has had NV equipment since July 2013, but still no 4G, and this new antenna in just the last week. The installer this morning told me an integration crew should be by next and it should be live by May. He said once they leave the tower today they don't plan on coming back to it. He said once it's fired up, it should be throwing out all 3 bands. Music to my ears!!!
  12. Here are the new pics. Like I said, the lighting may be better in the morning. Site ID sign on gate. The crewman told me this tower already has fiber, and it does have 3G/800, but there is new fiber waiting to be installed. What is that all about? New antenna.
  13. As far as being chased off by the police, no worries there. I worked for the local Sheriff's Office for 14 years. Land owners? I've known them forever as well. So now I'm really interested in any info you can provide on this new equipment. I'm uploading the new pics now. Also, I notice the site ID was redacted. My bad on that, however, I do have a pic of it I can post to be in compliance with S4GRU guidelines. Standby for new pics....the lighting may not be the best now as the sun is more in the west in the lens. I'll head back down tomorrow morning, but in the mean time....these will have to do.
  14. No kidding!? That's why the guy there working on it told me that this tower is the guinea pig for new equipment. I went back down there after you said to get some pics. He said it is the one that gets all the new equipment in this area first, which I find weird since it's not actually pumping out 4G yet. He told me it will be active by May. He said they would be done in about an hour and would be out of there. It's only about 3 miles from my house so I told him I'd come back later. Headed there now to get some more pics. I'll update you soon. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  15. So, is this "new" as in newer than the other B41 equipment that has been deployed up to this point? I'll gladly go back and get more pictures, but that was already with 200mm zoom. That's as close as I can get. I can take other angles though, and maybe set it up on my tripod to eliminate all the blur I can. I like details, give me all the details on this you can, even if you need to PM me because of sponsor sensitive info. Thanks. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  16. Is there something specifically you want that I didn't capture? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  17. I live out in the country. 15 miles east of the nearest decent size city that has a population of about 37,000 (Richmond, Indiana). I didn't think Sprint was adding Band 41 to rural areas that weren't densely populated. However, last week I saw a rope hanging from CI33-----C050. It was getting dark so I could not see the antennas very well. Today, I took my new DSLR camera with me and the top image below is what I observed. The antenna on the right has been there since July 2013. The wider antenna on the left is new. The bottom image is what it looked like in July 2013 after NV antenna was added, but before legacy was removed. In addition, this week, I spoke to and verified a contractor for Time Warner has been running new fiber to the tower for Sprint. So, am I correct in thinking this is new addition is a Band 41 antenna on this tower? (Band 25 & 26 run through the same antenna, and B41 requires an additional antenna, correct?)
  18. Nothing yet, but we have noticed tracks in the snow at various sites almost on a daily basis, and I ran into a tech at one tower this past Sunday who said he was there to "take pictures". We have to be getting close.

  20. Another user (that you and I both know) and I, have noticed fresh tracks in the snow at several of our towers. He noticed them inside the gates at a few sites. I wasn't able to take the time to check that far on mine, and it was dark and not easy to tell if they had been inside the gate. I would venture to say things are about to change for us. Looking forward to what tomorrow morning may bring, as the towers around us that have 3G/800/4G seem to have all gone live on a Friday night/Saturday morning.
  21. You, sir, have acquired Rockstar status for the northern Cincy market!
