Wilson and Western tower out. talk to sprint, said it will be till January 18th or so for repairs. They are giving me a credit for time lost via data and 4g. Just an Fyi for all here.

Mhammet, you are correct.when i lived in Kentucky the servers i used were based in Chicago!!.so the trip the signal made was 1000 miles or so.Crappy ass network provider was lazy as hell.So your physical location argument is VERY valid.Just my 2 cents.

Got 4g in house this week.Not great speed, but when the internet went out i could still play BO2. 6 down 2.5 up and 50 ping was best i saw.

you're all not going to believe this, but I got 49.35 down and 18.6 up at Orleans and Chicago downtown. not lying have the speed test to prove it. WOW. JUST WOW.

I think I owe you all an apology for bring A PITA. The tower by me is not broadcasting 4g as far as I can tell.I am getting 110-140DB from it.also by my house I an getting 93-112DB . The maps show it complete and yet the signal must be from another tower since the DB is so high. I hope that they turn it on soon.And I wonder where the hell the tower is that IS broadcasting. SHEESH. Thank You all for the help.And I apologize to you Robert the most since I've been a whiny Beotch about it.

I live by Wilson and California. the Other direction. impossible for me to get signal from that tower at Irving park Rd. I an using that as THE example of what it SHOULD be.the tower I connect to is Wilson and Western.this is what tech support and I figured out 2 months ago.now it says that the tower at Wilson is complete on the maps. and I am getting bad speeds.went over there today and did multiple tests around the site.walked almost 3 miles to check at different distances to see if speed was different.only got to 5mbps at highest point. so I would like to know if that's it. out if there are backhaul upgrade still to come. Thank You.

Robert.Just to followup.I went to the tower by my house (Wilson and Western) and am only getting 5 megs down.so that is what it is capable of at this point.do you think we will see the 20/10 that I an seeing at Irving park (less than 6 blocks away)? the signal is as good as it gets here and 5 down?.might a well go back to my OG evo. any help would be appreciated.

I'm getting 3 down here in Chicago.near western and Wilson.seems like the speed is very slow.The site shows the tower near me as complete.I hope this is not it, because that would be horrid. where I live is a major hub for the Northside and we are seeing bad speeds.the tower at Irving park and Clark; less than a mile from there is getting 20 and 15.Hoping it is a backhaul issue. Any help is appreciated.

Robert, thank you for the info.I just hope the 4g will get cranked up by me so wee see the real world number sprint wants it to have. and thank you for giving me the information on the site.that helps me, when otherwise I'd just be frustrated.You kick a$$!

I cant figure out where the service is coming from. The towers in my area dont show any purple. One is over a mile away and in chicago there are a lot of buildings in the way. Also that tower would have been giving me service since it went on early this month. so that's out. I do want the service to be as fast as irving and clark. Damned that was fun to play with. Just cant figure out which tower is actually giving me the signal. And yes I do know that it is very signal dependent. It must be coming from the west of me as the towers to the east have been up and running for a few weeks now.I never believe my bars . I believe speed tests and downloads and NOT dropped calls. If you can find out some more info from the little birdies you have ( not the ones that nested earlier BTW) I would appreciate it. Thank You very much Robert.

4g is happening on the north side of Chicago. the speed is like 2 down and 4 up.will that get better? or is that it for us? its like 12% of what I got in Niless this last weekend.any info is appreciated.

I called sprint about a similar problem.go to tier 2 support and ask if they can have your phone look for the tower closest to you.they did some voodoo that makes my closest tower the one I connect to at home.

sorry.the 1 to 3-4 bars are 3g.massive difference. update : tower down by my house.big outage.they are working on it. also have me codes to reset device to factory on roaming and provision.don't know if its legal to give those codes out. admins let me know.

Got 4G in bedroom for a minute. I Am hoping that the signal is just being tested as I have only gotten a d/l of 2 megs so far. Let's see what happens when the signal is really cranked up. And FYI, the signal in my room went from 1 bar MAYBE, to 3-4. So that alone is a HUGE improvement..

Thank you for the quick response.I am not sure that the tower closest to me is upgraded.Wasnt yesterday when I checked .Hope it isn't 'cause this is gonna suck all winter if it is.The tower I connect to is at Wilson and Western essentially.And I use my phone for all my communications.I have an evo.So that alone is gonna suck for signal till they fix it. If there is a way to find out if it is and not updated that info would be great to have.
