  1. Somebody was in the Wendy's restaurant and turned Sensorly on for a moment. Too bad they did not leave Sensorly plot their path as they departed. We need more Sensorly users and the users we do have need to use it as much as they reasonably can. Sensorly does not help if it is not being used.
  2. Chambersburg, PA LTE Report --- Was at the new Longhorn Steakhouse Saturday evening to see how the food would be. New steakhouse, I had to test it out. The food was superior. Laid my Galaxy S3 on the table with the speaker off and it vibrated on an incoming e-mail. When the screen lit up, I had CDMA 1X bars all over the place. I had a 4G indicator too. Yes, Chambersburg is covered with LTE. The steakhouse is brand new, well built, probably a little tough to penetrate with a cell signal. Not real close to a cell site either. But I had to keep asking for more napkins to clean up the LTE flowing out of the phone. LTE can be a mess when it gets into your basket of bread on the table. When my wife was not watching, I ran a speed test. 8 meg download and 7.2 meg upload. It was steady too. How can you not sneak a speed test when you encounter something like this?? Check out Sensorly.com Chambersburg city is well covered and the LTE is moving out into the rural areas too. It just keeps getting better. Multiple cell sites are converted to the new Network Vision product in Chambersburg with more improvements coming in the area.
  3. Well Said halcyoncmdr. You nailed it good. It is sad that we have very few good technicians anymore and very few who have the common sense to even think about an issue rather than just give a canned answer.
  4. The Sensorly report is just saying LTE was seen SOMEWHERE in the Tampa area. It is not saying that Tampa has LTE everywhere. Slowly but surely, you will see LTE expand all over the area. It has started.
  5. I am streaming "Renegade Radio Nashville" on the TuneIn Radio app over 4G. The 4g ICON is blinking with the streaming.. I still show LTE disabled in the advanced section.
  6. Mine shows LTE Disabled, and this is on a phone that is receiving LTE now and has been for months. Also shows Home SID as 4139 which is not correct as I am in Wash/Baltimore SID area 4195. Not sure if that is any issue at all, but it makes you wonder. I see no 800 meg service even though the PRL for Wash/Baltimore allows it.
  7. Guys, I do NOT live in Vegas, but I do visit there quite often. I really never had a complaint, but I realize the problems getting a signal into some of the Casinos and Hotels and accept it. Be assured, when Sprint does attack Las Vegas and you start to see the results, you will be amazed.
  8. It will change for the better and in a big way. I happen to live in an area that has been upgraded to Network Vision with 4G LTE. The results are amazing. Much Much better than I ever expected. It is worth waiting for. It just is too big of a project to complete real fast.
  9. I have seen about a 5 DB improvement and even more depending on exactly where I am at. I have coverage in my basement and before the 3G upgrade, this was not something that was ever a consideration. Everybody will not necessarily have the same exact experience, but everybody probably will see some improvement.
  10. I see some new PURPLE on Interstate 81 about 5 miles south of Carlisle, Pa. Shentel turned up another one.
  11. Does anybody know --- Can the old Nextel Cell sites be made to NOT broadcast IDEN on the part of the 800 band that is going to be used for CDMA 1X voice??? Can the remaining NEXTEL holdouts be confined to just a small portion of the 800 band?? How did they manage to tun up 800 meg CDMA voice in Chicago?
  12. Does anybody know why they are not turning the 800 Meg on for CDMA 1X voice?? I have seen speculation about it, but nothing that was really confirmed to be the reason. I have seen some real improvements in the CDMA 1X 1900 Meg coverage. Placing the RRU's up high with the new antennas did give a significant boost to the 1900 coverage. I have seen better coverage at a few spots where the coverage was extremely weak and it is not just wishful thinking either. If we can just get the 800 meg operational, at least the voice coverage will be superb.
  13. The PRL may have been updated but I have not seen anybody say they actually have seen any active 800 Meg signals yet. The phones may be looking for the 800 Meg signal, but mine has not found it yet.
  14. Dec 16, 2012 A GigaOM conversation with Sprint’s Dan Hesse on five harrowing years as CEO By Kevin Fitchard A world of difference separates the Sprint Dan Hesse took over on Dec. 17, 2007 and Sprint today. On his fifth anniversary as CEO, Hesse talks with GigaOM about how Sprint emerged from its dark days and how AT&T-Mo eventually helped shape Sprint’s identity. Airave

The Airave does work and if you wait until your address changes, they may GIVE you one when you can call and say you have very poor service at that address. If you get lucky and they have Network Vision operational when you move in, you may actually have useable service. My local tower was recently upgraded. Before the upgrade, I had a -100 to -102 RSSI level in my home and if I moved, the call dropped. Now, since the upgrade to the cell site, I have a -95 or -96 and so far, no dropped calls. That 4 or 5 db improvement fixed my problems and if & when they ever turn on the 800 SMR band, I expect to see 4 or 5 bars on my phone. I had mostly zero bars with one bar occasionally showing until the upgrade. Now, with the upgrade, I have two bars all the time with an occasional 3rd bar. At certain spots in my home, I even see an occasional -92 RSSI level. This major improvement is not a new site, just an upgrade to an existing site. LTE is not turned on yet, but I fully expect to see LTE in my home when they do turn it on. Things are getting better and it ain't over yet.
  16. I just ran that same route a few nights ago. It was way too dark to see if any RRU's were on the cell site towers. I did not get a blip of LTE anywhere on the route, not even in Dulles. But now I do see Dulles lit up just after I departed. Maybe route 267 and route 15 will start to go purple soon. Looking good. Keep up the good work. We need you to keep adding to Sensorly in your travels.
  17. Looks good. Great work. Turn Sensorly Violet everywhere..
  18. Boonsboro, Md Sharpsburg, Md You have Sprint 4G LTE. Look at Sensorly.com. I have driven over your main roads and Sensorly will show you that LTE is there. I only lost LTE when I went over creeks that are naturally on "Low Land". LTE is on the secondary roads in most cases too, I just did NOT drive every last road in the area. Shepherdstown, WV Look at Sensorly.com too. I did enter your town from Sharpsburg and LTE was there. Sorry, I just did not have enough time to drive your main routes. Shepherd college is in a strong coverage area. Shepherd students should be happy.
  19. I have been noticing my Samsung Galaxy S 3 even appears to be connecting better than it did. It always was much better at connecting and holding the connection than an EVO. But lately, I see connections happen even in poor areas and it happens quickly. I also had some streets that I just could not hold the LTE because of a weak signal, but now, the Samsung holds even a -125 connection in many areas. I think it may depend on the area and it probably is how much "noise" the phone has to deal with. I have some areas that have NOT had any additional cell sites converted to NV, No changes to the coverage area at all. I can drive down streets that absolutely would not allow me to connect and hold. No doubt about it. But in the last week or so, I drive down these streets and the phone connects on its own and holds the signal. It may have a -120 level or worse, but it does grab and hold. Somebody done something good. Either the last phone update fixed something or the NV cell sites are doing better. I am using software version 4.1.1 One comment needs to be made--- at a -120 to -125 level, the speed is going to be slow and the LTE may not even work at all. But the phone will hold on to it. It is only a matter of time until a neighbor site gets upgraded and this will fix that problem.
  20. l Great Work, BakedC4. I did some similar work. Look at I-81 between Hagerstown, Md & Chambersburg, Pa. I traveled parallel to I-81 on both the East and West sides. Just stayed back maybe a mile or two as the roads allowed. We need a few more people to download the Sensorly app and take their Cell phone for a scenic tour of the area.I try to travel some alternate routes as i am out moving around.
  21. Shentel did Hagerstown but they will not go into Frederick. You are dependent on the Washington, DC group to find time to take care of you.
  22. Sorry to tell you that Corporate is responsible for Frederick. Territory EAST of Myersville is all Corporate. If you go to the top of the mountain on I-70 and cross into Washington County, you will find LTE Right now. However, if you look at the Sensorly web site, you can see Corporate is starting to convert sites to NV in several areas around Frederick. You just may be getting very close to having some LTE.
  23. Can we talk you into downloading the Sensorly app and then taking your phone a ride around Charles Town & Ranson. Take a look at the Sensorly web site. It does not show any Sprint LTE in your area. We need to fix that. Thanks
  24. Yes, Do it Do it. York has about 8 active upgraded sites, but Sensorly does not show them all. Somebody needs to find the sites.
  25. Another site upgraded in Chambersburg. A few miles east along Route 30 (Near Wal-Mart) Mapped on Sensorly.
