  1. LTE Service functional downtown near Jackson & Michigan. 2.3MB down 1.332 MB up. Things are coming along.
  2. Note II = Awesomeness!

  3. http://sensorly.com/map/4G/US/USA/Sprint/lte_310sprint#q=60018 http://sensorly.com/map/4G/US/USA/Sprint/lte_310sprint#q=60016 http://sensorly.com/map/4G/US/USA/Sprint/lte_310sprint#q=60068 This covers pretty much Park Ridge, Mount Prospect, Des Plaines, & Rosemont I will be able to contribute more next week when my LTE Device actually arrives, but according to Sensorly we have pretty good coverage in our areas. Have you tried the suggested solution of setting the phone into airplane mode?
  4. Note II can't get here soon enough!

  5. as I said. I stand corrected. I apologize for the inaccuracy of my statement.
  6. As i have seen from the site Robert provided. I stand corrected. No LTE Support at my office its a block away. Go Fig, will have great coverage at home.
  7. Coverage is Coverage. LTE or otherwise. LTE towers will be supporting not just LTE but both spectrum's of service. So, yes it does pertain to my devices.Since they removed all the Nextel towers, their non LTE towers are fewer and fewer. The towers will cover LTE & Non LTE Devices. 4g Support on these two devices has increased since the LTE towers went up however it is far from what this map shows as being covered.
  8. I have nothing nice to say today about this. Keep us posted Robert. Hopefully that buy out does us some good. Your doing great work. Coverage map - Lies. I am all over the Chicago & NW suburbs. I am using Galaxy SII (yes last years Galaxy) & Evo Shift & this map is far from accurate. Maybe the Note II will provide better reception since its got better bandwidth coverage than both my phones now. but its getting harder and harder to defend sprint when they post stuff like this and I get bombarded with response mails about how they live where they should be covered and it no workie. Sad sad state of affairs here in Chicago.
  9. http://www.zdnet.com/softbank-as-sprints-savior-what-20-1-billion-does-doesnt-do-7000005765/ & http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2410969,00.asp Both these articles were mentioned earlier, both together give a great perspective on all of this.
  10. Good luck... until Sprint allows sims to be utilized on their phones. They will continue to control the phones on their network and bringing outside phones will continue to be discouraged. However they still offer the best rates for a 2 year contract vs any other career. I am a sprint loyalist.. but not an apologist. I hope that the Japanese ideals come with this merger. its needed in America we get so abused here as cell phone users.
  11. After the debockle that was the start of this transition to LTE and the number of customers they lost in Chicago alone. This deal makes a lot of sense financially and will be great for us as consumers. Yes, the fear of change and more outrageous rates and data caps is there, however, if you look at the data usage in Japan and their business model there, I would suspect the "New Sprint" would be a combination of both ideals. and hopefully that does not entail the AT&T & Verizon 2gig data limit which is ridiculous to consumers & the industry as a whole.
  12. Full 4g Full 3g .. Roaming? So confused...

  13. Service in Chicago is running painful at the moment. Full bars, and roaming Yesterday and today, unable to complete calls due to unavailable service or just flat out dropping calls as dialing begins. Is this because the towers are coming online for LTE in the next week or so? is there an actual date for the turn on in Chicago or is it sometime in September thing? We are getting zero answers from our sprint rep per usual. So i defer to the experts here for an answer. Oddly, data seems to be functioning OK. However it is Roaming data plan in place even though i am a block from a tower i can see out our window.
  14. "We are the geek squad. " No Sir you are NOT Geek Squad... you know what your doing! You are providing a needed service on your time not my dime. That Robert screams your better than that ... that... enough said. You are better.
  15. I whole heartedly agree with this Robert, being in IT I Feel your pain. If users are able to figure out that this site exists you would hope they would take the time to learn and get educated from it. This place gives me the willingness to put up with shotty service i have right now, because i know that eventually it will be better. I have been with Sprint for 13 years now and run 5 phone lines and a wifi adapter. I've adopted almost every technology they've offered over the years, and I've been extremely upset with the way they communicated their goals to the consumers. But then again. NO Carrier communicates their end game with their consumers. Can you see the advertisements if they pushed reality and not the "promise" "LTE Now available in your town, we'll beat AT&T Home internet speeds, and cost less. Can you hear me now? NO? well sprint can help you there.. " Pause for Dramatic Effect.. micromachine guy chimes in... "Not available in 80% (count down changes each week) of our community but its changing every day.. be strong be proud you WILL EVENTUALLY get what you pay for.. happy heart every one! Users drive us nuts Robert. I loved your rant and e-mail I hope that it gets through to the users. You guys do great work here. Please keep it up. LTE Is not a lie..
  16. BELIEVE ME.. I LOVE you guys for this site. Its saved my sanity and gave me a glimmer of hope in a daunting time of drop calls, broken conversations and failed internet reception. One of the biggest reasons I have to stand by Sprint is this site and its status updates. Telecomm industry as a whole has had and continues to be one of the worst in communications, but until regulations force companies to be other wise, it'll continue. So i say grab the reigns and hold tight.Cell phones is a rodeo worth the ride. So, thank you for all your efforts here Robert.
  17. With how true that statement is.. damn it.. customer communication was THE WORST! They could / SHOULD have notified us of this goal. so they wouldn't lose so many customers and wouldn't upset the populous! I for 1 am anxiously awaiting for this disaster in Chicago to be over. I can't wait to see if my patience and my wifes nagging me to jump ship and me telling her no wait and see is worth all this nightmare.
  18. Chicago + Sprint 2012 = Bad day
