  1. I like the idea WiWavelength has...do it yourself and it's free, or pay a store to do it for you. I prefer to do everything online. I can order from my bed, have it a few days later. Go to Sprint.com and activate it in 5 mins. All require less effort and my personal time spent than visiting a store. Plus this way I won't have insurance added to my account without my permission...lol. I don't understand the MUST HAVE NOW mindset. If it's here today or in 3 days...I still end up with it. Visiting a store isn't efficient...it's a waste of time. If Wegmans delivered, I'd probably never visit a store of any kind ???? Edit: just for statistical reference...I'm 30, married, and have two kids.
  2. Yeah, I thought my state was corrupt. My local utilities (electric from Constellation Energy, water from county govt, even FiOS and/or Comcast) do not charge activation/hookup/turn-on fees. I never paid the fee on Sprint...a 2 min chat and it was always refunded. When I started a line with Tmo, I wasn't charged any fee (even though I believe they normally charge $15 for a SIM for new lines only). That $36 fee on Sprint was pretty dumb...4 lines equals $144. That's unacceptable to me. I can understand a deposit for customers with poor credit, but I'm not in the business for overpaying for services...maybe I'm just cheap ????
  3. My favorite part, the "Top 10 Shit List". I wonder what towers are on that list? lol
  4. T-Mobile changes the "deprioritization" threshold from 23GB to 25GB for unlimited data customers. http://prntscr.com/9vdfih
  5. Kudos Sprint. Just proves there is more than one way to success in this industry. A long way to go for sure...but progress!
  6. We are at 32" here...big dump truck snow plow was stuck for an hour on my street. Then a MD state trooper was stuck in his AWD Ford Explorer....while I was helping him, the AWD system died. He had to get towed.
  7. I hate the Weather Channel. The US Govt names hurricanes because it makes information sharing easier when there is more than one storm. That isn't an issue with winter storms! Ugh...stupid TWC.
  8. Bulls eye zone still shifting north and east (it's getting bigger, not moving) closer to central MD.
  9. My work (govt agency) is closing at 1pm tomorrow. I'm planning on bolting at noon to beat the rush. Someone might see 30" or more in this storm...we just don't know who yet. Lol
  10. Roll call...who here is on the east coast about to be impacted by a massive snow storm? I live northeast of Baltimore in Harford County (Bel Air)...we are in the "16-24 inch" zone right now. The worst of it looks to be closer to DC at this point, but the models have been shifting further and further north and east...so we shall see! http://maps1.pivotalweather.com/models/gfshires/20160121/12Z/f072/acc10_1snowconus.png
  11. Verizon adds 1.5M post paid customers? I can't find how many were smart phones...free tablets aren't as impressive. Edit...found this on Reddit So far we have these numbers for Q4. T-Mobile 917K Verizon 449K
  12. They better not be doing it on purpose. Market manipulation is illegal in the United States...and surely would come under significant fire if regulators were to approve SoftBank merging Sprint or anything else that would require regulator approval.
  13. I live in Harford County...Cecil is like a black hole for Sprint. Even along the interstate. I wonder why they have neglected that area so much?

  15. Executive support got me in touch with a local Sprint employer network engineer. I talked 10-15 mins with him last summer about band 26...because along the busiest interstate in Maryland (I-95), there are still holes in LTE. He said they were aware, but we're not in a position to fix it then because it would end up being slower than their 3G network in those areas because of capacity issues. So the only solution is another tower. Who knows what the issue is now, I still have one line with Sprint, but it's not my everyday device.
  16. I agree. But Marceo has bragged about their pings, so he'd look foolish if it slips significantly.
  17. Will microwave hurt pings though? It's a brilliant idea, I just am not sure about what its impact will be on pings.
  18. https://newsroom.t-mobile.com/issues-insights-blog/open-letter-to-consumers-about-binge-on.htm Legere apologizes to EFF...lol
  19. http://www.wsj.com/articles/sprint-is-case-study-in-junk-bond-pain-1452469045 (Note: Google the WSJ link to view the entire article). Personally, I think Sprint will continue it's work to cut costs and manage its debt load without the doom and gloom that this article states. But it definitely will be a challenging year for Sprint, from a finance point of view.
  20. AT&T is very reactionary. After losing customers for several quarters, they need to do something. The days of Sprint taking 6-12 months to react are long gone, now AT&T is filling that shoe.
