  1. Need some help. Got a new HTC One. Does this have a screen similar to Samsung's LTE Engineering screen? Sent from my Sprint HTC One
  2. Thanks Robert. Digiblur PM'd me and gave me the tower #'s. I told him I'll go check them but it may not be till next week or possibly next weekend. Working overtime tonight and all this weekend.
  3. I don't get over to the "completed" forum too much. Can you tell me which 2 towers you're referring to? PM me. Thanks -Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III using Tapatalk.
  4. 'blur, I'm with tgrgrd00. Thank you for all you do here. You're most informative for us "noobs" who aren't as technically inclined when it comes to all this frequency/band/backhaul stuff. I hope I speak for many here when I say "I appreciate it!". I'm just glad I can make my small offerings of pics and engineering screen caps from time to time. -Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III using Tapatalk.
  5. I tried. Told him about Sensorly but he didn't seem interested in helping our cause. Besides he's constantly changing roms all the time so I don't want him putting out corrupted mapping info. -Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III using Tapatalk.
  6. Got a buddy that lives in North Slidell north of I-12 and west of Hwy 11. Showed me his speed test showing 31.4mbps download speeds he lives 3 blocks from tower NL03XC343. I'm gonna go scope it out and get the cell id's. -Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III using Tapatalk.
  7. I work near there. I'll see if I get anything tomorrow. Last I checked, there was no work being performed on the two towers nearest NASA and my work. We also got some faint 4G on the Paris Rd. Bridge and Paris Rd near the St. Bernard/New Orleans parish line the other day too. Not sure where it was coming from as of yet though.
  8. (The below is for Android phones only that I aware of. ) If you believe you're around a 4G signal but your phone is not switching you can either keep cycling airplane mode till you get it or you can get this app: LTE Discovery: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.simplyadvanced.ltediscovery It will cycle airplane mode automatically every 30 seconds until an LTE signal is detected. You do not want to be trying to run anything that uses data while running this because you will be losing your data connection every 30 seconds. -Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III using Tapatalk.
  9. Don't know what happened but 3/4's of that post, including screen caps, disappeared. Gimme a minute to edit. -Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III using Tapatalk.
  10. Anyone in the Slidell area always have trouble getting a good 3G data signal around the Mall or Academy/Target area
  11. Just found this handy app on the Play Store. It's an easier way of viewing your signal strength instead of going the "debug" route. It's called Advanced Signal Status. -Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III using Tapatalk.
  12. Just wanted to let y'all know that Slidell has a tower up and running now. Here's a screenshot of the area I mapped on Sensorly this morning:
  13. You may have incidentally caught your phone in the middle of the 5 minute LTE scan interval. As said above, the just cycling mobile data, whether manually or via the widget, does not recycle the baseband. At least, I don't think it does. I'll go by the tower in NOLA East today and test it out and see what happens. The problem is, you can never tell where you're at in the middle of those 5 minute scans, so you have to do multiple tests inside a 5 minute window.
  14. I was worried if I was having trouble with my Samsung Galaxy S3 going from 3G to 4G. It took 4 minutes to switch while sitting directly next to the tower in New Orleans East. I did some "google research" when I got home and found that the EVO LTE and the SGS3 both have 5 minute scan intervals for 4G. So it's possible your phone didn't even make a 4G scan while you were going through that small section of Interstate. If you know you're in a 4G area, cycle airplane mode on and back off and your phone should go directly into 4G if you have a 4G signal.
