  1. I got this last night while in the Taco Bell drive thru on Hall & Scholls Ferry Rd...practically across the street from that Sprint store. Fastest Band 41 speed I have personally seen so far. :D

What's the name of the program that you're using to show the Band 41 signal strength on your phone? Signal Check Pro doesn't seem to be working my phone unless I'm rooted. I don't want to root my phone and lose the option to receive updates for my phone (a note 4). What's the "12KB/s" indicator next to it mean?

  2. Try browsing a page in the stock browser and see if it redirects you to a log in?

I tried using chrome to see if got redirected to a login landing page. I'll have to wait until out of my house and near a xfinitywifi signal to try again with a different browser. I kept getting that error message with the sprint connections optimizer" screen on my phone.

  3. I have comcast for home internet. I started noticing that xfinitywifi is available all over my metro area (Portland). I tried connecting to the xfinitywifi signal and my phone says that I'm connected. However, I've not able to enter my comcast email or password in order to take advantage of the service from my phone. I keep getting the error message: connection refused or reset (something like that). Comcast customer care was no help. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

  4. This guy is about making moves and wasting no time doing so. I'm liking this guy by the day. I wonder what the meeting with apple was about concerning sprint???

IIRC, Sprint has a contract with Apple to purchase a certain amount of iPhones due to its smaller subscriber numbers and specialized network bands (?) (how'd T-mobile get the iPhone without resorting to a contract?). Perhaps, he's in contract renewal talks -- at least, Sprint can leverage Softbank's user base for extra buying power. Might be wise considering Sprint's subscribers numbers are dropping - just to minimize the amount of defections and keep Sprint out of a tailspin. On the downside, Sprint would have less $$$ for network buildouts.

  5. Every carrier could bid for the spectrum, which would be mostly paired in 5 MHz blocks in markets across the U.S, the report said. However, crucially, if bidding by carriers reaches a to-be-determined threshold price, the FCC would set aside up to 30 percent of the licenses for companies that don't currently control a lot of spectrum nearby. Such a move could push Verizon and AT&T to outbid each other for the unrestricted licenses. The Re/code report also said the FCC has proposed setting limits on restricted licenses so the winners couldn't immediately sell them to Verizon and AT&T.

Under Wheeler's new proposal for the screen, spectrum held by Sprint and Dish that was previously excluded from the screen would now be included. Verizon and AT&T have pushed heavily for that outcome. For Sprint specifically, that would mean the carrier's 120 MHz of 2.5 GHz spectrum that it owns in 90 percent of the top 100 U.S. markets would be taken into account in a spectrum screen.

  6. I have not had an issue with that and I work around alot of emergency/heavy vehicles.

Besides the call volume issue, I'm leaning towards the iphone 6 if it has the rumored 4.7" to 5.5" screen for: Siri eye-free integration with my car stereo, more specialized accessories (fitness monitor, camera lenses, etc) available for it and a much lower malware target than Android. Hopefully, the iphone 6 will have Band 41.

  7. I can say that I have made a bunch of calls on the M-8 but the few that i have were very crisp and clear. Best clarity for me too date and that includes the iphones which are quite good.

I care about call volume the most. I can barely hear the caller when I'm in a restaurant, mall, sidewalk or other busy places.

  8. I demo'd the M8 at a Sprint store today. I tried placing a call but the earpiece volume seems really quiet for. Too bad HTC didn't put an amplifier in the earpiece. The only phones with decent earpiece volume were the iPhones. Not sure why.

  9. I am well aware of this. However, your primary concern seemed to be regarding triband devices and LTE connectivity, which requires eCSFB. Since the areas you mentioned already have the NV 3G side of things accepted, I expect eCSFB to be launched when those sites are LTE accepted, if not before. If your primary concern is that our market is not yet 100% covered by LTE, then this is the wrong thread for such concern.

To keep us somewhat on topic, once B41 begins to go live, I do not foresee any connectivity issues, as our market is well covered by NV 3G. The only connectivity issue will be with our poor, outdated Note II's.

Hopefully, most of the eCSFB issues will be ironed out by the time I'm upgrade eligible in October. If not, I'll still have my Note 2 as a backup. Q3 is "supposed" to be the start date for Band 26 installation for the Portland metro area. I don't think that there's even a planned date yet for Band 41 for Portland. I'm crossing my fingers.

  10. Yes, he and I both live in Beaverton. He is mainly concerned with having usable LTE, rather than what band he is on or how fast it is, so I don't think he does many speed tests. That may change once Band 41 goes live around here.

Beaverton is only half setup with LTE. There's still some 3G spots- Murray and Millikan, Costco Aloha and the Cedar Mill area.

  11. This should be a non-issue in our area. One of my brothers has had the LG G2 since December. I have yet to hear one complaint from him regarding LTE connectivity.

Any sites that are marked as NV 3G accepted on the NV Sites Complete map should be capable of utilizing eCSFB when LTE is accepted and fired up, as eCSFB only requires a software update. Sites marked as 3G/4G or 3G/800/4G already have eCSFB operating and should be good to go.

Personally, I want a triband phone right now, but am waiting on one that is Note sized. I decided to pass on the HTC One Max and LG G Flex, so we'll see what's next.

Does your brother live in the Portland area? What kinds of speeds is he getting?
