Well then there is this....
@BGR: Consumer Reports: Sprint is still America's worst carrier and it's not even close http://t.co/WcRgQc6mf3 by @bwreedbgr

id assume calls.
But I feel with their very week reception while inside buildings - sprint should negotiate with major malls and retailers to have wifi. Much like what AT&T has done for years.

Very logical and I assume sadly correct.
Places I frequent in CT and southwestern MA - I've yet to be impressed with reliability. It has greatly improved speed wise no doubt. But staying locked on - no.
Not being sarcastic but I'd like to spend time in a really good built out reliable Sprint market. The Sprint contact I have has been amazing at helping me. Latest network ticket came back with zero issues for this area. I asked what that meant and the answer pretty much aligns with what you stated. He told me my best option was going back to VZW. I really don't want to though. Sigh....
Thanks for the info.

But that only gives speed. Not reliability. Especially if I can't lock onto 800mhz lte now - 2500mhz surly won't do anything.
I understand that the theory is to remove some burden from 800 and 1900 but I don't see it working in real life.

I was just at ikea in NH and inside on top floor only 3G on the bottom floor no service.
In parking lot on lte took apple maps about 2 minutes to load.
On the way to Waterbury - phone went into 3G and lte all the way.
My vzw work phone stayed lte the whole time.
So I assume Roots is rating on over all actual use ability?

In my area optimization for 800 and 1900 lte was completed 4-6 months ago. Can't stay on lte or even 3G - very sporadic sadly.

110% on mark
Reliability of network is key.
At least in my area between the constant 1x, 3G to LTE dance that occurs & the new double 30gb promotion at att it's making me want to switch again. But I don't want to.

in all honesty I don't think any consumer cares what position the carrier is in. Just that it works and priced correctly.

I don't see how b41 will improve though. In my area at least (per executive team two towers in my area are due to get b41 in the next 5-6 months) but as it is you can't connect to LTE or even evdo all of the time and that's within 1k feet of a tower.
I understand how it will assist offloading the lower bands but....

That's pretty current.
I have yet to see any improvement with 800mhz nor 1900mhz in Connecticut.
Edit - I have seen amazing improvement just that it's not consistent.

Like to the tenth power
And to add once their network functions more like the Duopoly in most areas - then the fun making stops.

<preface - it sucks when folks get laid off>
This should be great for the network though… I suspect the old Sprint really was in the rut that Son stated — “we suck” mentality…
