  1. Ann Arbor is improving in some areas. Campus and Stadium area, and westgate are 20-40/10-15. The outlying areas like M-14 @ Maple road rarely exceed 5/1, same with Plymouth/23. By high school, Pioneer & Huron are best (20-30/10), Skyline worst (5/1). Tmobile still beats Sprint in most areas.
  2. The iPhone implementation seems to work well. There are some improvements over standard calling. First, voice quality is improved over standard cellular. 3 way calling features (using wifi calling) work on the iPhone - the 'swap' button has been implemented and call duration of each call now displays. You can also conference up to 5 users now using the add call / merge call / add call ..... feature. Wifi calling also works with airplane mode turned on. No VoLTE switchover yet, however , call are dropped if wifi is lost.
  3. Last time we went to Canada we added the $2.99 canada roaming (for $0.20 phone calls) and bought a Wind Mobile hotspot. Cost was CAD35 for 1 month, 10Gb HSDPA data. For CAD15 extra, you can roam on Tmobile + some ATT 3G in the US. Wind only works in a few cities ( Windsor, London, GTA, Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton) but is the best value if you want a cheap hotspot. Expect 1-3Mb/sec.
  4. I would like to see Sprint unlock their apple devices for other networks too.
  5. In SE Michigan the network is far from complete. It has improved over a few years ago - no more dropped calls - but data speeds are just awful. In the Ann Arbor Campus area, 0.2/2. No service at the football stadium (during a game) , intermittent, slow service at the basketball stadium. Near the periphery about 2/5. One area has B41 , getting 40/10 - hopefully the remaining towers well be upgraded shortly. Most of the Detroit area is similar. There are still too many 3G towers, and no B26 anywhere. Tmo, Verizon and ATT work most everywhere and average about 20/10. ATT & V also have better rural coverage. Sprint isn't great in this area. If NV is substantially complete, Sprint must be running out of cash.
  6. New LTE tower in Ann Arbor @ Westgate shopping center, I-94 & Jackson Rd. I'm getting around 8/6 in the evening with good signal, slightly less further away.
  7. I had LTE coverage from North Campus on Green Rd to the Athletic Campus on State in Ann Arbor. Looks like the campus and downtown are up with LTE. ##update# was necessary to make it work on several of our phones. At the UM softball stadium, best result was 10.3/3.0/92ms and worst was 4.5/3.5/84ms
