  1. For any sponsors out there be sure to check out the NV complete maps, Robert added an update today so the maps now include all towers that still need to be upgraded along with all 3G/4G/800 upgrades. It takes some wind out of your sails when you see the amount of work still to be done in our market, but on the flip side if you're versed at tower hunting it's really cool to see all the towers in the area that haven't officially been turned on yet but that I know have all the equipment installed.

On another topic I was finally able to install a special 800 priority PRL on my iPhone 5, but no luck connecting to any 800 in the limited area I've travelled to over the past 24 hours.

I know. I really like it. Thinking they are working their way towards me. Might have upgrades in my neighborhood soon. Crossed fingers.

  2. I couldn't snag the LTE around target with out it on LTE only.

I am currently making this post with LTE signal on Kent states campus. Its very weak and I think it's from the Ravenna towers

That is what I thought. Wonder if that is still true in Ravenna. "IF" all of their towers have been updated then maybe the n5 would get lte without forcing lte only. Then again and I might not know what I am talking about.

  3. Not sure if its been mentioned in this thread yet, but i got LTE service in Axtel, Ohio the other day. Didn't have sensorly installed after updating ROM, but it was from Route 2, up to Mason Road i believe (maybe further up to around 113). Solid speeds, good latency calls worked, etc.

Next time I am out that way, i will try to remember to map it out.

Just thought it was weird that it was in Axtel, seeing as its quite a small town, unpopulated area.

Could it be from a tower on the turnpike?

  4. Next 90 days?? What a joke. Probably a canned response..

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Does sound like a "canned" answer. 90 days is in April so the weather should be better. they are clearly making progress in the outlying areas.

Just curious, will that nexus 5 allow you to get any LTE in this legacy market without going to lte only mode?

  5. Would you like to buy the London Bridge? I can make you an offer you cannot refuse.

    AJ

AJ, didn't they already buy it and move it to Arizona? And does it still have ocean front property? Or maybe I am confused again ...

  6. i have a question about the phone... hows the service with it in low signal areas

I seem to get a little better signal with my Photon 4G then my wife does with her Photon Q. It (the Q) is not bad but not great.

  7. People would be more understanding if we didnt have to pay for it but since we do i can see how someone gets mad to have unusable 3g and mediocre lte with no definate timeline in site.

Do the other carriers have definate timelines?

  8. As a millenial I completely agree and luckily haven't fallen for his antics, yet. The included global data roaming is just so tempting. It really makes me miss the old Sprint International BlackBerry plan, although I do not miss that billing system.

Are there that many people that travel all over the globe? Most people that I know don't travel outside of the country very often. Just asking.

  9. No. They have made it so phones from other Sprint MVNOs (i.e. Virgin Mobile) can't be brought over.

Also I would like to say this forum is awesome. Until I discovered this I was totally going by Sprint's coverage map (garbage + lies) and would have been stuck with Wimax.

Ting will let you bring the s3 from mrick as long as it is sprint and not the virgin mobil or boost version.

  10. Are you talking about the interactive maps with the Yellow, green, etc pins and stuff? Yea I have looked at those! That's pretty nifty stuff! I drove up to Cleveland constantly checking for LTE and got nothing! Maybe it has to do with my N5 but I was disappointed

Are you using lte only mode?

  11. I'm not very good at hunting these towers I'm trying to learn and take pictures. Speeds are getting there. I can finally stream music almost non stop

Looks like you have done pretty good so far. Have had a chance to look at the completed towers map in the sponsors section? I think you can zoom in and see where they are and which band they are using.

  12. I'm tired of these towers being placed in Amish country and in the middle of no where!

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

There are more "yankees" in those Amish areas then you think. The large farms are mostly Amish but all of the towns and all of the housing developements are yankees. Most markets are being built from the outside in, so they would be building in Parkman before Akron. That said, can't wait for them to get to our areas.
