  1. Keyboard? What's that? Lol

Why it is the photon Q of course ... except no spark ... frown

Actually, my wife says she never uses the physical keyboard anymore. Guess you were right in the first place.

  2. So only fast speed tests are allowed?

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

We know that the old sites are slow. We know that in process sites can be slow. Why would you post it? That is just "dog bites man". Big deal.

We want to know when it is getting better. That is what this site is about. We don't come on here to find a better carrier or read about how awful sprint has been. We know that already. We want to track the progress ... trying to anticipate when "my" location will have great service.

  3. Large companies, especially those dealing with retail and e-commerce, have teams of testers who's sole responsibility is to make sure things like this do not go live. You cannot test every angle due to the v.p.'s wanting quick turnaround (the cost of time is too great), but something that has an effect on a majority of situations making it out is unacceptable . Add to that the poor communication and you have part of why Sprint has the reputation it does.

This situation, plus the fact my bill will go up until I hit 6+ in my framily, is why I haven't made the switch from my current plan. I know I will need to sometime in the near future, but I am holding out.

True. I have had to go in and fix many systems that were installed wrong and I imagine that you have also. Most have not been intentional, just carelessness or incompetence.

  4. Mine has been doing some weird stuff around cuyahoga falls and stow. Sometimes no data unless I toggle airplane a few time and some times just Ev-do where previously I have been on ehrpd or whatever

I hope that is good news. We are due for some work here.

  5. I agree with the above. I've seen it mentioned earlier in the thread that Sprint is aware of the billing "issue" and advising reps to credit accounts but this does NOT appear to be true. It's pretty underhanded.

Just want to weigh in on software for a minute if I may. Software often has terrible design or coding errors in it. Everyone is not as careful or skilled as you and I may be. That does not necessarily make it intentional. Just my 2 cents.

  6. I this is the first time I've seen in writing that Spark is not just Band 41, but all three LTE bands, 25, 26, and 41.

I thought that they have reported it on this website from the very first mention of Spark that it was all 3 bands. At least that is what I seem to remember.

  7. Whoops, yeah that's what I meant. Thanks for the catch AJ, my brain derps when its that early.

Lucky you. My brain derps when its early, late or any other time.

  8. I was inside a government building with plenty of windows today in a densely populated eastside suburb.

When I arrived there around 8am, there were 1-2 bars of signal inside the building. By 11am when I left, it had switched to roaming with no bars and my battery was 1/4 drained.

I hope this improves soon or Sprint may as well just close all their stores anywhere near or East of 271 because they won't sell a thing.

They are actively working in the Cleveland outlying areas. Should have progress near you in the coming weeks or at least months. The sponsor maps show where progress is being made. You should check them out.

  9. Just that subsidies are no longer available, but easy pay is. You don't have to pay full price. Also, as an existing customer, you can make a framily, you just can't join another existing customers group plan. Just clarifying as you worded it like existing subs can't be involved in framily at all.

If subsidies are no longer available, what do you mean by not paying full price?

  10. I have a degree in Helpdesk Technology and Support, and I love it. I stayed away from programming because I am a people person, and programming is too shut in a corner kind of thing for me.

Really depends on the shop and the structure. Getting developement requirements, training users and real time support can involve daily interaction with users as well as operators and tech people. Other shops may "lock" you in a room and feed you jobs to code.

  11. I ended up only getting an Associates degree for Web and Software development. Graduated last spring (went after many (fun but wasteful) years off. Was easy as hell to find a job in my area. After 7 months at my first place of employment, I ended up getting an offer at the University of Wisconsin - Madison as a PeopleSoft developer.

In my opinion (in IT, at this moment) an Associates is plenty to get yourself in the door at a reputable employer. I may take advantage of the 100% tuition reimbursment to persue my Bachelors down the road (I started off at UW - Madison and have all of my gen eds done. I just switched majors a ton and wanted to get the hands on experience of a Technical college to make sure it was something I could do for the next 30+ years.)

Bachelors of course will probably pay out more over your lifetime. But, I have found numerous employers around here that prefer 2-year degrees because it is MUCH more hands on.

Plus once you get in the door you will probably go to numerous classes on the specific software you specialize in. Peoplesoft or Lawson or various other specific products have multitudes of extra classes that keep you up to date. That is true whether you choose to develope software or administer the product (ie payroll, sales, inventory, etc.).

  12. I've run 480 line video of Nova and Frontline from PBS.org on my MB855 via HDMI to my television over CDMA. Picture actually isn't half bad. It isn't like I do it all the time, though. That day, my internet connection took a dump while I was watching Nova online, and I was really sick. I think I used about 4 hours and hit about 1.5GB on that line all month.

I don't think 1.5GB is abusive. Do you have an issue with the picture and sound matching up?

  13. Does anyone else realize that Sprint's unlimited for life does not mean unthrottled for life? Sprint can limit data speeds and start charging more for faster speeds in the future with no breach in their T&C. Something to think about.

That shouldn't be a problem unless you want to stream hd video to your 80 in tv. If so then you should pay more.

  14. No 4G yet?

    Hope something improves in Oberlin.

I think they have to wait until all the sites on a particular cluster are done before they turn on lte. They can turn on the 3g one by one not the 4g. It is an issue with legacy sites.

  15. Aw, I really think you could handle it. Just the supply side economics of solar radiation. No demand considerations whatsoever.

    ;)

Wouldn't it depend on if he was a John Maynard Keynes or a Milton Freidman supporter?

  16. That's actually good to know - I had no idea T-Mobile Nexus 5 IMEIs were not loaded into sprint.

Sprint/Google should support all model D820's - less customer confusion.

There could be concerns about a tmo phone being stolen or not paid off yet. Don't know if that is one of the reasons for not including the tmo phones ... yet.

  17. Watch out. It is reportedly "self healing." The next thing you know, Skynet is learning at a geometric rate, becomes self aware, and launches a nuclear strike to preserve itself.

    AJ

Thermo Nuclear War! I think I saw that movie.

  18. Some family in North Royalton are having problems sending text and missing text messages. Its been happening for the past 2 days. Could this be work being done? Anyone have any info for around that area?

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Sure hope do. We missed a couple of texts on the wifes photon q this week. Hope that means they are working here also. But might just be the weather.
