    And how would that benefit T-Mobile USA? Especially if they commit to halt their deployment like they had to during AT&T merger.

     

    They can agree to merge, but the effect of not being approved by FCC and DoJ would be devastating for T-Mobile USA without a breakup agreement. There is no way that kind of deal is going to happen.

    Might be more devastating to sprint if the deal were rejected, especially with a payout to tmo. Att could afford such a fee, sprint not so much.

    AJ, I get all that. The problem is that we're too small a sample size to care about. Most Sprint users don't know, and don't care.

     

    The thing I find amazing is that choices made over a decade - almost 20 years ago - still have such a large bearing in the US mobile industry.

     

    I don't think a Sprint/T-Mobile merger is a hot idea. But that has almost nothing to do with 3GPP/3GPP2 integration. That has more to do with my thought that four competitors is better than three.

    Not sure that 2 huge competitors and 2 tiny competitors are any better than 3 large competitors. Just some thoughts.

    I'm getting LTE also now! The bad news is that its pretty week in Kent. The campus has it for the most part but downtown Kent doesn't. I hope they boost up the towers or something.

    My son was getting a light lte signal in my house in stow with his note 2 if he stood next to a window on one side of the house. As soon as they update the tower I usually use, I should be ok.

    Yes the tower is .30 miles from my house :)

    Lol. My closest wimax tower is like almost 30 miles away. The good news is that lte should be here very soon.

    I will wait until there are spark towers around me. Bought the photon 4g before they deployed wimax. Not going to buy a N5 before they deploy the network.

    However I can no longer enjoy LTE because I had to switch back to my old trusty EVO 3D the other day. I was having too many issues with the EVO LTE screen not responding half of the time, other times it would just start freaking out and doing its own thing, I was so close to smashing that phone to pieces... It got really frustrating when I was in the middle of something and needed to call someone and It wouldn't let me press anything, I have heard of this issue before and repairing it isnt worth it to me, its just a piece of junk phone. Oh well Wimax still works at my house but I dont use it much.

    You get wimax? I am so jealous. Waiting until lte is working at my house before I upgrade my wimax photon.

    Me either. Plus if it doesn't contain the Spark update well... I am personally going to start raising hell. Not sure about anyone else.

     

    I have been patiently waiting...

    I don't mind if you raise hell about it, just do it to sprint not s4gru. They have a complaint department, we don't.

    Weeks ago I use to drop calls going into Streetsboro because Streetsboro is lit up and upgraded and the transfer from the Hudson towers would drop because they weren't upgraded. Today I drove from Streetsboro all the way to Kent state and never dropped a call

     

    Does this mean that Kent is now upgraded? Or does this mean absolutely nothing and I'm just getting my hopes up

    We all have reasons to complain. I bought a photon 4g the day it came out. No wimax then, no wimax now, no wimax later. The promised ics update was canceled forever. Still running gingerbread. Bought a photon Q for the wife the day it came out. It has its own list of issues, not to mention no lte anywhere that we live, work or play.

     

    But I am not bringing anyone else down. I am not threatening to leave sprint if they don't do my tower before your tower.

     

    Instead I joined s4gru and contributed when I could. Checked out the completed towers maps and charts and watched their progress. Looked at my area on sensorly to confirm what I learned here at s4gru. There is light at the end if the tunnel. I am pumped.

    I've got a T-mobile SIM ready and waiting to go. But I'm keeping it sealed since the phone I want isn't out yet anyway and I've put Sprint on watch with the Governor's slim chance of an 11:58pm phone call ;)

    If you want to go to tmo then go, we don't need to hear about it. We are on the verge of actually getting a good sprint network in this market. If you have been following these post you would know that. Those of us that have been waiting for awhile are glad we are almost there. Why anyone would think they needed to post some kind threat to leave sprint on this site is beyond me. We don't control sprints progress, we celebrate it since those of us with a little patients are poised to reap real rewards.

     

    Sorry about my rant. Just tired of reading threats to leave if sprint doesn't do such and such by someone's personal timeline. Post it on tmos blog. They will love it there.

    LTE is coming off of the tower in Kent on 43 it has CSFB issues or whatever because my n5 only attaches when in LTE only mode

    Still not getting lte at my house in stow. The wife's photon Q is still on 3g. Will have to run over to rt 43 tomorrow and see if we can get lte on the Q.

    I like that idea. Also kind of related, has anyone seen the new T-Mobile commercials where they directly go after Verizon's horribly inaccurate coverage map commercials? I wish Sprint would speak up and do a commercial setting the record straight on their LTE coverage compared to what Verizon shows. Being silent on the issue only invites critics to let it become truth.

    Maybe sprint is waiting until they have a little more complete on the network before they shout too loud. Couple more months and it could be awesome.

    that is with the premier sponsor 513 pro. It is battling between the two, and one sector serving my house stopped all 1x800 broadcasting even after acceptance. Tried filing an equipment failure issue but they just brushed it off

    The site might have been accepted but has it been officially launched yet?

    I can get WiMax 4G inside my Warrensville Heights office again, although only 1 bar and no faster than it was before I think. People with LTE Sprint phones though may be seeing more impressive or widespread coverage around here, but I have no way of knowing since I know few people who have it around here (ahem). I'll test again outside later.

    I didn't think wimax was supposed change since it is not part of nv. Are they changing the panels or the backhaul or something on the wimax towers?

    I got over 2mbps download on my old photon using 3g in Rootstown. Seems pretty good for 3g to me, at least compared to what I have been getting. Who needs lte ... smile.

     

    Should have taken the wife's photon Q, could have checked out the new LTE there.

     

    Seriously though, can I realistically expect over 2mbps on 3g when spark is done and the network is tuned?
