  1. Also att and vzw did low band only sites at first to. B13 for example it's 10x10 and is easier to use plus they have more money. TMobile works with 6 billion or so a year. So they have to go back later and add other bands. Tho In SD they have others bands. 2,4. Some areas they don't have B12. So is 71 or only 2 or 4. In the Dakota's TMobile lacks spectrum which is another reason they want Sprint. 12,2 and 4 are all 5x5.

That’s my point, they have bands all over the place due to poor investments. It’s basically a half assed rollout based off the funding that’s available. Yes they provide coverage in some rural areas now but much of the coverage is subpar at best.

  2. Isn't there coverage still better than Sprint? Plus the two together will be better rural coverage as that's one thing they promised would happen under the merger. Guess lowband only sites with one sector isn't so great.

What good is T-Mobile’s coverage if you can’t use it on low band only sites ? That’s my point in this. I traveled to Montana last month and South Dakota. T-Mobile has fair coverage so I was thinking I would be fine. I could not use my data at all. Much of their “expanded low band” coverage is not useable. The rollout for expansion has been half assed at best. Together? Yes they could achieve that. But I’m not a fan of reducing competition and I’m not buying that it’ll lower prices. You don’t double your investments in coverage without passing the cost down to consumers. I don’t care how they try to convince us. We’ll keep our current plans for like 2-3 years and then we’ll be forced onto higher 5G dat plans when it’s more widespread.

  3. Yeah that only works for where Sprint covers now. Not the rest where they don't cover that Tmobile does cover and would make use of the spectrum in these areas. Coverage is more important to me than speed.

I have both sprint and T-Mobile. T-Mobiles coverage is nothing to brag about whatsoever. A lot of fair coverage in rural areas and it’s unusable and I travel a lot for work. I would rather go to Verizon when this merger is complete. I’ll pay them a little more for quality over T-Mobile any day

  4. It's one site. Quite possibly the old Clearwire protection site converted to B41. There is partner 3G and LTE roaming in the area, so the likelihood of a full build out in the near term is pretty low.

I'm actually quite surprised they added it to the coverage map. I'm not sure they meant to since as far as we know, that site is only producing B41 coverage, no CDMA, EVDO or B25/26 LTE.

Very interesting. I thought it was by accident that they put coverage on the map becuase I knew they had a protection site.

  5. Little disappointed to see this but it makes since. It doesnt look good to see so little LTE Plus on the map and other carriers only show you LTE so this was probably the right call. However it makes the map way less useful to spot new coverage.

Except I spotted several new areas of LTE that was grey no service/roaming before like Marquette MI in the upper peninsula of Michigan. It’s LTE now. New coverage area

  6. It's still spectrum that can be aggregated with B25 to improve speeds. More spectrum = more capacity. Never a bad thing.

But wouldn’t T-Mobile shut down B25 and 26 ? I thought they would rollout 5G on B41 and 600mhz. At least that’s what I gathered from the press conference last week unless they keep all of Sprints holdings for LTE for quite some time

  7. I realize there are a number of opinions out there on this topic of the Sprint/T-Mobile merger.  If you happen to be one of us who are not in favor of it, here is a petition you should consider signing it and passing it along to your friends/family.
This is a petition on Whitehouse.gov that is requesting the FCC or DOJ block the proposed merger, you can read more below:

    Thanks,
    Jordo

Sprint user here, just signed it. Let’s keep this going. I don’t want to be under T-Mobile and go from 4 carriers to 3

  8. That's already happening. Sprint is in the process of getting 800 equipment deployed in the southern IBEZ, and the spectrum should be clear by the end of the year, with various launch times along the border. I don't think even T-Mobile could have sped up the process with Mexico and public safety entities to get the spectrum properly reorganized.

I hope your right but let’s say the merger is approved. What would T-Mobile do with b26 ? Since B12 and 600mhz is practically in SoCal ? It seems like almost a waste of Sprint deploys it

  9. Coverage map was just updated before these sites went On Air. Haven't had a chance to go around and see in person yet.

Any idea of B26 for Southern California ? The tower spacing is laughable at best
