  1. This makes more sense. I guess if there's a significant cost difference and they figured the radios would be sitting there doing nothing for years on end. It's a pity for them that they have to gut their equipment, but I'll take an earlier than schedule 800 network :-D
  2. I am curious, do you know if they HAD to do this for regulatory reasons or if they just did it to make it somehow cheaper, because it seems a bad investment if they're just going to replace it all...
  3. I thought all of the equipment they have used has been at least dual band b25/b26. I thought all of the b41 stuff was what was being messed around with, replacing the Huawei stuff and whatnot. Correct me if I'm wrong, anyway.
  4. That is pretty damn awesome. I think Sprint is in position to be best carrier in Rochester at this point, once they roll out b41. The only weak point is coverage, I think 800 is a while off yet. Still, that is hella fast.
  5. Almost guaranteed. Never seen those speeds on b25!
  6. I second this, the schedule map is the bee's knees. Can't get that kind of information anywhere else, worth it for anyone who wants the REAL info.
  7. I just did mine, hoping the information is worth it. But I love this forum and needed to donate more anyway, so it's all worth it in the end!
  8. I haven't witnessed 800 anywhere in the market, and I didn't think it was going to happen for a long time yet, so I have no idea where it's coming from.
  9. That's awesome! I was wondering when they were going to get to this because it's a rather high traffic area for people. I have had some issues with my eHRPD signal the last couple of days. I wonder if they are doing something to the market? My data signal has kept dropping out for 30-60 seconds at a time and then coming back before dropping out again, and then my phone seems to drop down to EV-DO for what I'm assuming are stability reasons? I'm using a Nexus 5 and this has occurred in the Honeoye Falls area. Anyone have any clues as to what might be going on? Or maybe it could be something local to my phone or a temporary thing, who knows. Hoping for LTE out here soon though. I think the towers in Honeoye Falls are waiting on backhaul.
  10. If you are satisfied with Sprint everywhere else, then wifi calling is a perfect solution. Just grab the handset and you'll be good to go! The use of those handsets on Sprint are no doubt beneficial for everyone as well due to the reduced load on the network.
  11. If Sprint coverage does not work for you, you should leave. Things are getting progressively better as time goes on and the network is in a usable state now and speeds are somewhat competitive. Coverage is not going to change significantly until 800mhz, which is not going to happen for a while yet in Rochester. I'd like to encourage you to stick it out because I'd rather see a Sprint subscriber than any of those other three, but there's no point if it doesn't work for you.
  12. We have to wait years yet I believe, the Canadian radio authorities have to make agreements with American carriers and/or the FCC to allow for use of that spectrum within the IBEZ.
  13. He looked tall in the old commercials with him walking around. They should break the law and do it anyway. It's not like there isn't a big ass lake in between us :-D
  14. I am just curious to know whether or not there are any new developments about the rollout of Band 41 in the Rochester market. I know the Band 25 LTE is not fully mature yet, so I'm guessing they may wait until it is to even consider it, but we can hope, right?
  15. Lol, sorry, can't see properly :-D Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  16. You mean 35 as the backhaul speed? And do you know if this also applies to GMO sites? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  17. Thank you for the info anyways. I wouldn't have a clue why the area is GMO except it being more rural to be honest. So we are not just waiting on backhaul? Or would backhaul already be in place and the lack of LTE is a side effect of GMO. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  18. I think we are just waiting on backhaul at this point. However long that'll take. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  19. And none in Honeoye Falls! :'( Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  20. Still had not the best experience speed-wise in downtown Rochester area regardless. Most other places have been doing probably as well as they're going to do on band 25 LTE now the the market is mostly filled in.
  21. They need to upgrade more of downtown. LTE there is overcrowded, speeds are abysmal, can confirm. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  22. If there's not LTE coming from that tower, then it probably isn't. The backhaul vendor will get there eventually and then it will be turned on. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  23. I'm curious if anyone knows anything about the deployment of band 41 LTE in the Rochester market. I am assuming it's still a ways down the road yet, but just thought I'd ask.
  24. See what I mean? Coverage is definitely there, there's bits and pieces not done and definitely plenty of dead spots but there's LTE.
