  1. I don't think the tower is located at the VA. I live at Nobel and Villa La Jolla and pass by the VA 6 times a day. Unfortunately, I'm in the dead zone for 4G in that area. Still, if it was the VA, I should get the signal at home if I can get it on LJS north. Also, the tower down at 52/Gilman was back as of Tuesday. I'm going to try to map some of the neighborhood near the canyon this week. The La Jolla Scenic Area is very odd. I get a strong signal around Sugarman but if I start heading South, it cuts out as you pass the YMCA, (i.e. get closer to 52) where the signal should be stronger. However, when I go down Sugarman in the same direction, it's a great 4G signal, all the way to the end of the road. It's also somewhat odd in the neighborhood just between LJS and Torrey Pines also. The signal is very strong then just cuts out. I'll be over there this afternoon. I'll use netmonitor to try to figure out which tower it is.
  2. So I finally got out and did some mapping around La Jolla Village today. I got a chunk of La Jolla Scenic N and the surrounding neighborhood. I think the signal was being cycled while I was mapping. I was getting some really strong signals that would just die in random spots and then come back. I verified that the map data I uploaded shows some very dark spots that just end without fading to a weaker signal color. Regardless, I go through that site no less than two times a day so I'll just keep mapping it.
  3. I did some mapping later on Friday afternoon. I was only able to get some LTE on La Jolla Scenic N and Sugarman. This morning I had a great signal but no GPS to map with. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  4. So I picked up 4G on La Jolla village drive, between Villa La Jolla and La Jolla scenic north, this morning. Couldn't map it because I didn't get a GPS lock before I got home. I'll try to get some data later today unless someone else has time today. Still don't quite have it at home yet. I'm sandwiched between two sites. Soon.... Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  5. I drove up to Tustin last weekend and didn't get any LTE. Was really hoping to get some good mapping done. At least there's progress. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  6. Finally figured out why I was having issues with sensorly so I went a did a little mapping at Mira Mesa and Caminito Santa Fe. Just did down Flanders and back to Mira Mesa from Sorrento Valley. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  7. I have a suggestion for a feature. Since cycling of airplane mode is broken in 4.2.2 and since cycling LTE can be just as helpful, would it be possible to add the LTE cycle as an option? Or would be present the same problem as airplane mode? It still might be worth it for others on different android versions. Just a thought. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  8. Yea, that's been a regular occurrence with the La Jolla site. Was down all weekend. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  9. Just did some more mapping today for the past 30 minutes. Did from Governor drive down to Regents and the 52. Took 52 to La Jolla Scenic N. Tried to map some of the neighborhoods with no success. Went up scenic to LJV and back down Gilman to La Jolla Colony. Did a speed test there and then mapped Charmont back to Nobel. Sensorly should update with everything. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  10. It was comparable to the speeds that you got in Carlsbad area from speedtest.net, I only got around 14Mbps instead of 21 but it was a marked improvement over the 3Mbs I got last time. Regardless, I find that to be extremely promising that Sprint is working to provide quality speeds from their LTE sites. Hopefully this will also translate into broader coverage over the SD area in general. I would seriously consider trading all the 4g in the world not to switch b/w roaming and Sprint 3g at work. (805 & Sorrento Valley) It just kills my battery.
  11. Update on the La Jolla/Gilman site: just drive through on the way to an appointment and it's back on. Got better speeds that last time from speed test but I lost the screenshot. Mapped it in sensorly though. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  12. Sadly, I have to confirm that the LTE signal at I-5 and Gilman is no longer available. Too bad I didn't get a chance to map more before it went away but I'm sure it'll be back.... before it's gone again anyway.
  13. FYI. I noticed that cycling Airplane mode did very little for me when I was testing. Turning LTE on/off was more helpful. I noticed the other day when cycling LTE I picked up a new Baseband version, GA02. The only reason I noticed was because I just flashed back to FG01 from GA02 two days before while trying to deal with horrible coverage at my office. I plan on heading down to Governor from 805 to the 52/Regents to see if I can map more LTE coverage. I'll updated the thread this afternoon.
  14. No, it's definitely the LTE. WiMax coverage is much better in this area than that. I noticed that I couldn't see the new LTE coverage unless I had zoomed into a close enough level. I also did a refresh of the map. Maybe there is some cache that needs to be cleared?
  15. Looks like the coverage map is updated. I'll try to do some more mapping on Sunday. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  16. Did some active mapping today with great results. Took the highway from work at Sorrento Valley down to Gilman exit. I can confirm a full 4g LTE signal as you approach Gilman on the 5. Should get to sensorly soon, hopefully. Got screenshots and a speed test. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  17. Just got done driving around the reported LTE signal but I wasn't able to find anything. I used the side roads next to the highway but no luck. I also cycled Airplane mode and and cycled LTE but nothing helped. I will say that I'm now on eHRPD now at my house (less than 1/2 mile north) which is definitely new. I'm also getting a much stronger 3g signal at my house too. I'll do more investigating after rush hour is over and post updates.
  18. Very interesting. I live right in the area right between I-5 and Gilman Dr. at the Nobel exit but no LTE. My wife's Nexus S 4G picks up WiMax but my Galaxy Nexus is still not seeing any LTE. Sensorly maps show that it's a little bit south of me but I roam around that area after work today and see if I can pick it up.
