  1. It's not a CDMA vs. GSM thing. Verizon has had transferrable SIMs for awhile. It's a Sprint provisioning thing. T-Mobile will probably just get rid of Sprint provisioning altogether by doling out TMo SIMs rather than fixing the Sprint side.

  2. It's almost definitely related to retiring of the Sprint brand with some network news as well. A clear cutoff needs to happen and we all know that day is August 2nd. Or have you forgotten? That said tomorrow is a great time to have an announcement about the pending major shift. Makes total sense.

  3. I am going to go with DSS to allow T-Mobile LTE and 5G to be shared with each other.

  4. My guess is that on the network side we're gonna get a mid-band 5G "launch" in several cities and an announcement that work is ongoing in several more.

  5. What, T-Mobile wouldn't want to carry on the tradition of different SIM SKUs for different phones?

  7. it's coming... media push etc.... but I'm expecting that around Day 1 (August 2). (Thanks JonnygATL...we posted at the same time) This was to have been the time the Sprint brand goes away, but with the current virus situation plans can and do change. So many of us are waiting to hear where the networks stands... it's very exciting. So far, all we really have is sporadic testimonials for certain members and their speed tests, here that are in the first conversion cities ( New York, Philly...) I'm hoping for some good plan price intros to lure me into something a little cheaper than what I have now.

  8. We know about it because we're nerds who spend time on these forums and reddit... but they haven't had a big media push to tell customers what's going on with it, what to expect, etc.

  9. I'm ok with that! That would be huge news that many of us have been waiting for ... ie network transformation progress etc. Sprint brand retiring... Naw... we all know that and that has already been made public.

  10. Both Neville Ray (President of Technology) and Callie Field (EVP of Customer Service) have tweeted about it, each of them intimating that the event will have something to do with their respective areas of responsibility within T-Mobile. I really think this event is going to be more an announcement of the retirement of the Sprint brand, plans to integrate the networks and customer base, etc. Perhaps with a few new things thrown in. I don't really think it will be transformational beyond that, but I could be wrong.

  11. New T-Mobile will have completed their layer cake in the cities where Sprint 5G got shutdown. Really ambitious but I will go with that lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Anybody think they know what the "Uncarrier Move" will be tomorrow? Some places are speculating that it's network related... Thoughts? Guesses?

  13. All I know... Having this S-20 Ultra, and utilizing Tmo improved coverage in Utah (and its TONS better from like 3 yrs ago when I tried for a yr)... I cant wait to see what the combined assets will do.. Hell volte will be about as good as the standard cell coverage... I have been hitting all the bands (except the N-bands. I think) SCP bounces all over..2, 12, 66, 71 I have had to add new notes as they are Tmo towers instead of Sprint hahahha

  14. True vzw has been deploying B48 equipment for some time on their towers, so that will be a quick turn on Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk

  15. https://www.fiercewireless.com/operators/verizon-s-cbrs-3-5-ghz-deployments-rise-rootmetrics New T-Mobile seems really aggressive with the rollout and I am sure the executives realize that any advantage they have on VZW will surely dissipate. VZW is almost ready to rollout their own mid band spectrum and we know AT&T is not sitting idle either. Factor in the Note 20 and iPhone 12 launches, New T-Mobile really needs to keep up the pace to keep churn down! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Yes. It didn't work initially, but around February or so I factory reset it and it got VoLTE a few days after that. Supposedly T-mobile has been proactive at going back and enabling it on MBs that never got in the queue, but if you don't have it yet, just factory reset it. It can take up to 3 weeks to get it the first time (or so I was told by MB support). My Airave 4 took 2.5 weeks after a factory reset. I'm not sure if it's still the case, but having VoLTE enabled was a manual process, where it would get entered into a queue and someone had to manually toggle it on. That's why it took so long the first time, and why some MBs seemingly never got it. Factory resetting puts you back in this queue. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

  17. T-Mobile must've heard my complaints about n41 because I ran into it a bunch of times today in Manhattan and in Brooklyn. I've also seen a bunch of sites that have n41 panels installed but that aren't active. A few of the sites with inactive n41 also have those new Ericsson AIR 3446 antennas that support mid-band FDD 5GNR. Fun fact for people wanting to test n41. If you're on the Prospect Expressway in Brooklyn, there is a site that is eye-level with the highway that has n41. Here is a speed test from it and take a look at that signal strength and upload!
