  1. It's the number of times you've complained about "trash" service or coverage. We get it. That is all.

  2. You've clearly made the change to what works best for you. It's not constructive to continually come here to tell us how bad service is where you are. You've made your point.

  3. At this point, the most interesting thing to me would be a map of proposed 'sprint keep sites'. Numbers I have seen indicate ~11,000 sprint sites that would be kept (and I am assuming subsequently bolstered with tmobile equipment as well). My interest is completely personal - the area where I live is where Sprint bought out spectrum and customer-base from US Cellular years ago, and generally speaking, the Sprint coverage here is very good to great. There is VERY weak tmobile coverage though, if any at all. My personal hope is that there are a considerable number of 'Sprint keep sites' located around rural Central IL. Keeping my fingers crossed!

  4. Your situation is pretty unique to your area. Most of the rest of the Sprint and T-Mobile coverage areas perform better and have more flexibility with spectrum. You've made it clear that service is not great in your area in many, many posts.

  5. How is it going to get worse. They will let you roam on either network as soon as the merger closes. They will add 10,000 Sprint sites to T-Mobile's network. Then they will add brand 10,000 new sites. Now will they ever match the coverage of AT&T and Verizon? talk to me in 3-5 years.

  6. And what will this all mean for S4GRU? We are in a wait and see mode before we decide how to adapt. Until then, we will be here every day with you all, plotting our wireless destiny. Robert

  7. I know that a lot of us are gungho about this merger but once the excitement dies down you are faced with the reality of it. Here are some sobering thoughts: 1. The combined company will be approximately $70B in debt 2. They need to integrate the two companies from the business point of view 3. They have to put T-Mobile equipment on 10-11,000 Sprint sites 4. They have put new Sprint/T-Mobile equipment on another 10,000 brand new sites 5. They have to subsidize new handsets that contain all frequencies 6. They have to subsidize 5G handsets 7. They need to deploy 5G nationwide on the combined network That's just off the top of my head. I am sure we can come with additional expenses. That's a lot of money!!! now they sold Sprint's 800Mhz spectrum to Dish and Boost also to dish for about $5B so that will help but they will still need a lot of money.

  8. Agreed, no Band 12 (T-Mobile, AT&T, US Cellular) or Band 13 (Verizon). If it's aimed at the American market, I'm struggling to figure out who the target carrier is. - Trip

  9. On LTE most devices these days have all frequencies so that's a none issue. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk

  10. I am thinking that they will honor the roaming agreements with them before they expire. There are some that Sprint is leasing spectrum in return for free or very low cost roaming. Those will also be honored. Before the agreements expire they will look at them carefully to see if they still make sense. Now as to whether it makes economic sense to have some of the larger regionals around, as long as they make money and get sensible roaming agreements from the big 3 or Dish they will still be around. Did might also sign roaming agreements with them.

  13. That does me no good when both carriers coverage here is trash. Both have very little spectrum. No b41 here. Congestion is already terrible on T-Mobile as it is. The non-contiguous 10x10 b25 they get (yep, that's all they're getting because that's all Sprint has here apart from b26) isn't going to be enough to offset bringing everyone on to one network. T-Mobile's VoLTE performance here is terrible as well. No VoLTE from Sprint yet, just ol' reliable 1x. So call performance is going to plummet. That's how it's going to get worse.

  14. If there is a problem with VOLTE, you discovered it. Volte will work sometimes with a crappy signal, but other times it will not. Does not work as good as the old CDMA in very weak areas. I am still using CDMA and will continue to do so because of this issue.

  15. My service will only get better. T Mobile around the Motor City has 600, 700, 1600/1700 and 1900 mHz all around as well as all the spectrum (800, 1900, 2.5G ) Sprint will provide. Getting excited for things to come!! When the closing happens (hopefully) I might get a new phone later this year to celebrate!! 🙂

  16. I've had good luck with it too. My dad calls me a lot from KC with VoLTE turned on. I had to turn it off here in Omaha, signal in my apartment wasn't good enough until I got a MB (which didn't support VoLTE until recently I think?) There are also still several sites that are down due to the major flooding we had along I-29 between Omaha and KC, so I've left VoLTE off since I make that drive pretty frequently.

  17. What happens to current extended roaming agreements Sprint has with other carriers? T-mobile has sporadic coverage in my neck of the woods.

  18. I had to search, because I couldn't figure it out either. Two things: they changed how you activate it, and gestures are disabled by default even if they were enabled in 9. That may not be required for multi-window to work, but I was used to using it. To turn that on, just search for gesture in settings and you can turn it on (I set to both buttons and gestures). Then, to use multi-window, you have to get to card/task switch view, then press and hold the title above the app you want to split, and select multi-window. Why can't you run Waze and Signal Check at the same time? Do you mean in split screen (multi-window)?

  20. Closure as soon as April 1st. I will be interested to see what is performed on both sides in relation to capital outlay plans until that date. Will things slow down? Will both come together to start the integration process? Can integration happen before April 1st? All very exciting. Frankly, I am glad it has finally happen. Either way it landed, I just wanted it to end.

  22. God dang, this has been a long wait for me buying, selling, buying, selling, buying but mostly holding shares of Sprint since 2011. I might be tens of thousands of dollars richer in the morning...

  23. Yeah I'd rather just disable volte. Their voice network over 1x was always EXTREMELY reliable. They knew that. Hence the holdout for so long.

  24. First and foremost, there are 0 signs of deprioritization in that speedtest. None. Secondly, your pings will always be high in North Dakota. Their core is in Chicago, which is about 550 miles away (I'm assuming you're in Fargo, which could be way off base). T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon all have a network core in Minneapolis. Thirdly, I visited Fargo in December. AT&T's performance was nothing short of fantastic. I averaged about 75 down and 20 up across the region, with about 250 tests run, all over the place. The kicker was my ping was about 90ms on average. If/when AT&T adds a core in Minneapolis, things will change for ping performance there. I think they are opposed because they don't own any wireline infrastructure down there. Here in Duluth, my pings average about 35 ms... with a 35 ms jitter. So 70ms. Hope this helps.

  25. Just a heads to those that are in an area where Magic Box isn't/wasn't available. Try again. I typed my address in the Magic Box checker page and it says it's available to use in my area now. Always said it wasn't available before (Lincoln, NE).

  26. Agree that the major factors are VoLTE and data performance. In the past the formulas was rigged against TDD (and still are), but Sprint has allowed the B41 upload speeds to drop to the point they are strangling performance. B25/ B41 CA or full n41 needed ASAP, along with increased backhaul.

  27. RootMetrics has released all of their 2H 2019 data. Let's have a look at the National RootScore report for 2H 2019. Overall Performance: Sprint's overall performance score dropped score dropped a fair bit from the 1H 2019 report. Sprint's overall performance score was 83.2, down from 86.7 on the 1H 2019 report. This can be attributed to the major decrease in call performance and a moderate decrease in network reliability. They are in last for overall performance. Network Reliability: Sprint's network reliability score also dropped from the 1H 2019 report. Sprint's network reliability score is 85.1, down from 88.7 on the 1H 2019 report. I assume this is also attributable to the major decrease in call performance. They are in last on network reliability. Network Speed: Sprint's network speed score rose slightly from the 1H 2019 report. Sprint's network speed score is 83.9, up from 83.4 on the 1H 2019 report. They are in last for network speed. Data Performance: Sprint's data performance score only rose by 0.1 points. Sprint's data performance score is 88.9, up from 88.8 on the 1H 2019 report. They are in last for data performance. Call Performance: Sprint's call performance plummeted. I speculate that this is attributed to all of the teething issues with the VoLTE rollout. Sprint's call performance score is 73.7, down from 82.7 on the 1H 2019 report. That's a 9 point drop in 6 months. Unacceptable. They are in last for call performance. Text Performance: Sprint's text performance rose slightly from the 1H 2019 report. Sprint's text performance score was 95.5, up from 95 on the 1H 2019 report. They are in third for text performance.
