256QAM is live pretty much nationwide at this point. Massive MIMO is rolling pretty quickly out too...

You can rag on Sprint about a lot of things but lack of 256QAM and no deplpoyment of Massive MIMO isn't one of those things.

Sprint is spending lots of money. TMobile has been doing just fine with $4~5 billion on CapEx for several years. Sprint is back up at this level. If they maintain it, it just depends where they'd want to put that money. They have excellent extended roaming agreements, and have one with TMobile for three more years. Out of site upgrades, site density, market growth expansion and new native coverage, I can see new native coverage being at the bottom of the list due to these agreements. Especially if Sprint wants to be a city leader in 5G NR.

This isn't good news [emoji438] for the merger... Democrat 2020 hopefuls press Trump to sink T-Mobile, Sprint $26.5 billion merger https://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/democrat-2020-hopefuls-press-trump-administration-to-sink-26-5-billion-t-mobile-sprint-merger Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

5G can be a real differentiator for Sprint. Hopefully it’s a rapid and wide deployment.

Forgot all about T-Mobile roaming, I haven't seen it in a long time all I get is 3G when I lose LTE now.

Yes the rest is on CDMA. Some areas only have 5x5 left. If yours has 10x10 there isn't any reason then can trim CDMA to the last 5x5 and do 10x10 on LTE, they have done that in other cities Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk

I think Sprint can expand on its own, but it will just take longer than people want them too. Sprint (on their own) has made great strides just in the past two years in my opinion).

I personally want Sprint to stick around for a long time. Sent from my LM-V405 using Tapatalk

I do agree with you that in some places Sprint is short of spectrum. The network engineers from other carriers that I have talked to typically believe Sprint's primary performance issue is backhaul. That includes former Sprint network engineers. Backhaul is an operating expense, thus comes from operating revenues, while bondholders pay for the tower equipment which Sprint then makes payments. Thus increasing backhaul would immediately impact Sprint profitability.

Excellent work on finding 10 Clear Triband Conversion sites!! I like your offer of free sponsorship for those who help to find more! Most people don't realize that 1/2 of our finds are from people with android phones just going about their everyday lives with SCP Pro logging enabled which just records the lat long of the best signals. Then you just send in the log every so often.
